i have really grown to like idols who have something different about them so changbin not always being superbly fit compared to other idols gives him a more normal appearance same with jeongyeon of twice, i dont get why idols always have to be stick thin and pale white skin and fake contact lenses? it makes them look typical to me like eh is that all they have going for them? that or their personality doesnt have much going for them its easy to tell which idols are or arent serious about what they do. they might be good mentors for other idol groups but their own group might be slacking ie: blackpink. i think kpop doesnt know which direction its heading in sadly with all this stuff that keeps happening like crimes or hate trains on certain idols. also speaking of hate trains i dont think theyre of any use because even fi its clear that an idol overperforms id rather that than anything else, nobody liked jennies lazy performances so why is there always uproar on idols who outperform their members? give them chance and time to find their own way of performing, we r the audience we do not direct these groups and therefore cannot decide which idols are better or worse than other members but at the same time if its clear that an idol isnt showing enough then i think its fair to say they arent doing good enough as performers this whole overperforming vs lazy performing is a silly excuse. no ones an all rounder bc no one can be perfect at everything all the time, i think the expectations have got way overboard so that if an idol debuts with lacking skills its so noticeable now than when it was when blackpink or bts debuted no one really cared to comment until recently about their sometimes obvious lacking performances.
