The Moto Edge 2022 is an awesome phone for the price. It has a great display, good performance, good battery life, decent cameras, good speakers and is supposed to get 3 OS updates and 4 years of security updates. What I love about it too is it despite it being a 6 and a half inch phone it's very light. Some complain about the build quality, but I actually prefer plastic over glass for durability. Also had never tried the mediatek dimensity 1050 processor but it performs well. With the 144 hz refresh rate it makes the phone feel fast. The mainstream tech community overlooked this phone and it isn't a phone to sleep on because it's excellent for the price.
I appreciate this comment and totally agree! It's a great phone and nice to use cause it's lightweight and software is snappy. Apps load up nice and quick and that 144hz refresh rate is 👌

Im typing this on that phone I just got from Amazon for $150 2 days ago. Everything is good except the battery drains way to fast. I had a one 5g ace right before this and I could run that phone more than 2 days before I would have to charge it. It was fully charged at 100% this morning at 7:30am right now at 2:15pm it's on 34%. Probably going to return it just for that reason. Not sure if the meditek chip is super power hungry or I just got a lemon battery.

The phone battery is fine. I was using it a lot and also doing the android 13 update that day. The battery will last 2 days with normal use. Meaning making calls and watching some TH-cam or playing some games. If you watch TH-cam straight it would probably die after 7 hours

Very good review. I didn't know it had a flat screen I thought it had a curved screen. This phone seems like a great value for money right now. I actually like the plastic back. I always thought glass phones were goofy.
Thank you! I don't mind the plastic back either. It keeps the phone nice and lightweight. I just wish it had a better ipx rating. I'm always near water living in Alaska. Could use the extra protection. I think it's a great value @ $250. It's also faster than the 2023 version on benchmarks and I prefer the flat screen vs the curved edge that's on the 2023 version.

Mine is still on Android 12 in 2024. I really don't want to think a phone of this quality and features won't get OS updates. Its to powerful not to have atleast A'13. I like the phone for what is has and Im not a person that consistently changes my phones. I hopefully plan on having this phone for the next 3-4 years so I just hope im not disappointed. 😶🤔😒

@@Tekmogo Yeah I have. I actually try everyday. Idk if its bcus my carrier is Tracfone or bcus I got it unlocked on a eBay refurbished deal? So far its still compatible with everything I use on it. I would feel more comfortable running atleast A'13 just to know Motorola hasn't abandoned this model already knowing how much tech they've invested in it. 👍🫡😌

I absolutely love this phone I wasn't sure what to expect but I haven't really had any issues battery life is great ! Screen performance it's great I would highly recommend this, a great budget phone

I agree with your assessment, this is an excellent phone. Not sure I would pay $599 for it, but I got if for $209 on Amazon last week and you're just not going to find
something that performs like this phone at that price anywhere else. Granted, that was only the 6/128 spec, but for an "average" user, it's more than adequate.
Was a bit hesitant because of the Dimensity chip, everything under the sun is a Snapdragon, but it's performed very well, no stuttering or lagging.
If you're not a heavy gamer, just using it for typical stuff, this is a wonderful phone. Great screen, snappy performance, love it. Even the camera is a big step up from
other mid range "Moto's " that I've had in the past. If you're on a tight budget, this is a very easy decision to pull the trigger on. Oh, and Android 13 has dropped, the update came through
the same day I unboxed it and turned it on.

@@jaykay6387This phone Moto Edge 2022 dropped to $140 New on Amazon. I've read all reviews about this phone on Amazon page and most are highly negative. Also on Moto site they state that this phone will stop getting security updates in August 2025 next year so it is only 1,5 years are left of security updates. I'm still thinking that for $140 it is OK.

Would you please have a trick to turn off system update notifications ? We can turn off system auto-update, at least in developper options, but the notification comes EVERY 24hrs !!! So if you have a way.... Thank you for your great work !!!

I got my Motorola Edge 2022 when it first dropped I've been pretty happy with it performance has been good battery life has been good The only problem I did have or I do have with it is the update schedule there on. I finally got Android 13 a couple weeks ago so it looks like they are a year behind everyone else but as long as they keep their promise of 4 years of major OS updates and 5 years of security patches I'll be happy but it's definitely worth the $250 they're asking for it now I paid full price when it first dropped but that MediaTek 1050 is a damn good chipset. I'm probably going to pull the trigger on the Motorola Edge Plus 2023 or the Motorola Think Phone. Thanks for the video I really enjoy your content keep up the good work.
Hello! the Edge 2022 model is a great phone and a steal at the sale price of $249. I actually prefer the flat screen vs the curved on the 2023. The 1050 processor is no slouch either. The phone is quick and snappy. No problem playing games like COD and the phone edged out the 2023 version on Antutu benchmark. I'm glad to hear that you received the Android 13 update. It seems that Mediatek chip is unreliable and fails often here and there. I placed an order but I'm thinking about cancelling it due to bad reviews. Also on Motorola site it states that this phone will be stopped getting security updates next year in August 2025 which means 3 years of security patches and 2 OS updates. What do you think?
@@proudbacteria1373 Hello, I no longer have this phone as I traded it in for the 2023 version. I never heard of any negatives regarding the processor. I never had any problems while owning it. 2022 edge actually "edged" out the 2023 version on benchmarks. If it had a better ip rating I would have kept it.

Right now they have an offer at motorola where you can trade the 2022 model for the edge 2023 and get an extra $100 credit on top of the value of the $150 trade in credit. The 2023 is on sale too for $349 so i ended up with the new 2023 paying like $112 out of pocket with taxes!

That's a steal to me I think Motorola went a slight bit expensive for the 2023 edge at 599.00 The edge 30 fusion I do believe that came out last year right now is hovering around 349.00 along with Moto Buds baked in one bundle and the 30fusion is a way better device than the edge 2023

Personally I would opt for the 2023 version due to the better ipx rating and faster charging but only when on sale. I bought the 2023 version for $250 on a recent Motorola sale.

@@PedroM.-qw5wf No worries, I had no issues with the phone while I hade it. No random reboots or anything like that. I used it a lot for gaming and it did well. Cameras are just average. They are fine for posting on social media. The video was fine as well. I thought the ois in video worked well.

Here's what's confusing to me how is it that the edge 2022 MSRP 249 this year's 2023 edge MSRP 599. The only changes that I personally see is a went back to the flat display at a wireless charging reverse wireless charging putting vegan leather on the back of the phone but performs the same. It is definitely to me not worth 599 now there's a special that was going on for Black Friday that it was 3:49 at that price is a steel but other than that the highest price they should have charged to me 449 at best
When the 2022 Edge released I believe it was $499. Way too much competition at that price point. $250 is ok. The 2023 is still on sale for $349 on Motorola’s website. Decent I think at that price. Better ipx rating than 2022 and fast charging. Thanks for stopping by.

Mediatek is good now adays. I think ur talking about helio g37, and older processors in budget phnoes. Actually the best CPU rn is a mediatek.
