Big lessons indeed, something to keep us humble. Working mostly with elderly in a care home, many in some stage of dementia, I often smile while preaching. Time and again those listening to my sermon will finish the verses from Scripture that I start, reciting it from memory, when so many other things have been forgotten. This chapter from Spurgeon was a very encouraging read, and I thank you as before, for sharing the lessons and insights you have gleaned from it. There is also something I am curious about though. How would you yourself answer the question you raise? Do you plan your topics out for the year? If so how? I would love to hear more about how you do it. Thank you again for sharing, Ronald
I do not plan my topics out. I usually preach through books of the Bible verse-by-verse, but sometimes I will stray from my usual series if a particular passage grabs a hold of my attention or if I feel my people need a particular issue addressed. Good question.
I appreciate the teaching and the beard, brother. All the more as we see the day approaching
Praise God for this channel. Helpful for us new preachers.
Thanks for watching!
