The reason why Protoman lost is because he’s so unstable (hence “proto”, like a prototype). I think he could have won if he didn’t have such an unstable core. He’s an expert at combat. He was trained to be better than the robot masters, but Knuckles is just too strong I guess
This was a really cool animation. The animators did a good job with all the effects used in this (the earth tunneling and the slow mo stuff were beautiful).

Pretty much every fight Sonic and Knuckles have afterwards ends in a stalemate or is interrupted, especially in the many comics and tv shows. Knuckles also isn’t stupid, he’s gullible. Not that it even matters since it’s been shown that he’s a martial arts master despite the fact. Plus, in the Archie comics when Knuckles was forced to fight protoman in the Sonic and megaman crossover, Knuckles defeated him in a single punch. So yeah...
Protoman isn’t as strong as Megaman but he isn’t weak by any means. Just being comparable to Megaman makes Protoman one of the most powerful Robot masters of their time.

Like how it said this was made for entertainment but protoman would have won because i played all the MegaMan games and protoman isn't easily fooled he can use energy tanks to restore full hp and use big bang strike, charge his proto buster (does more damage depending on how long he charges it) and damage peeps when they touch him (play MegaMan 7) jump really high. I don't want to take more time away from you so I'm not going to list the rest.
