Using XTextureExtractor

- Render most X-Plane "glass" displays into a separate popup or popout window much like the G530 GPS or G1000 can in XP11. This is a how to to install and start using XTextureExtractor.

That’s really cool! I’ve bought real sim gear G1000 and I expect can use it with those pop ups.

Actually for the Laminar X-Plane G1000 the pop-out function is built in and works great. RSG instructions explain the process or watch my video "Look Ma no Bezel" to see how the bezel is removed from the popped G1000 window.

Good day, greetings from Colombia, congratulations for the video. One question, how do I configure my keyboard so that the screens of this plugin appear on the screen in my x-plane simulator?
The only problem is, if you are building a flightdeck and using windowed mode, this wont work. You have to have the 2d flightdeck somewhere on a screen or something which seems annoying. I am hoping FlightFactor 757/767 makes it possible to pop out the displays sometime soon.
Can you pop out the power lever quadrant and run it on an android tablet. If yes, then compatibility problems for di.fferent aircraft would disappear ! !!!
No in XP11 you can only pop out the G1000s, G530/430s , B737 FMC computer and other window on add on aircraft that have added pop out functionality to certain displays

Is it possible to assign a key (other than using the windows alt-tab) to bring back a window that is in the background?
Normand Bedard I am not aware of any way to do that using XTextureExtractor.
If you are using native "Windows" windows, then I don't think the plugin has any control over the ordering of the windows. If you are using "X-Plane" windows then they will appear all the time.
Can I extract an instrument (PFD for example) from xplane 11/ 737-800 and install it on a different xplane 11 aircraft? Thanks
No, it only extracts the live textures from the aircraft which you are currently flying. You can't mix and match instruments from the 737 into say a 747.
Rush great videos. Man how I can open two PFD and two ND? It shows just 1 PFD and 1 ND I need 2 of each one please help.
It is easy to do. You just need to add the two lines to the definition file to show the first officer PFD and ND. See my video on how to do this. You just need to edit the existing Zibo .tex file in the XTextureExtractor plug ins folder. Be sure to save it as a .tex not ..txt after editing. If you need further help I can make the file for you. Give it a try first though.

PilotAviationCR only if the second computer is running XP11 as the master and the other is running XP11 asThe external visual. You might look at zHSI which is a stand-alone program that has an XP plugin so it can run all the displays on another computer without XP running. Just google it you can download it from x-plane.org for free

The textures are almost free to render to a monitor that is already running X-Plane. If they are on a separate GPU then it will have to pay a cost of copying the texture which will impact the FPS. But you really need to measure it in your specific case to know what the impact is. For me it goes from 20 to 17 fps since I use the remote network option.

Yes, it is compatible with almost all airliners in X-Plane except for the Flight Factor A320.

Yes, Zibo and most other airliners are supported by XTextureExtractor.

Yes, there is an Android app and java-client for XTextureExtractor to show the textures on a remote computer.
I don't get it running on xplane 12, any advices?
There is a better way available if you use the Air Manager 4.2 Beta

I've extracted the Toliss MCDU screen to run on my Javasim hardware MCDU, works well, but if the extracted window could be set to full screen I could get rid of the window title...
I've downloaded the borderless gaming tool, works perfectly now :)
How is it with circular gauges like in the Cessna ?
Sorry only the Glass Panels that are rendered in the 3D view. Air Manager allows creation of the analog instrument on a panel either from scratch or using the free comunity instruments.

Good news, I just released v3.0 which now supports Vulkan and OpenGL with automatic texture detection. The v2.0 release had automatic detection but only worked with OpenGL.
