@@hoagieland3716 Works on Nacht but you get kicked offline. Seems like the script was taken away from it. But not on Verruckt.

Older camping spots maybe, such as the jug location in buried. It's a shame that easy camping areas have basically disappeared, imagine if they kept both the mounted weapons and the easy camping spots

I don't think they had the idea that was gonna be the main thing I think they thought it was a cool feature to have in waw because you can even do it in multiplayer
I forgot but in another video someone said this map was going to be different that’s why Outside the map their is a hidden turrets like the one inside the water fountain
really wish they fully implemented this feature on verruct woulda been fun camping with friends
Mounting WAS fully implemented
They did their best to remove it because of the bug that if you try to "walk forward" while mounted, firing your weapon didn't consume ammo
In multiplayer it only worked for mounting weapons while prone, so they left ledge/wall mounting; but I guess for zombies they decided to fully remove it
Theres actually quite a simple reason why they took out the bipod mechanics from the game. Back in the days during waw beta people found out about the bipod glitch method where you were able to wall breach thru pretty much every terrain patch that had a slope. Hope this clears the myth behind having bipods in the game but not actually being able to use them. Heh theyre pretty glitchery still 😅

I had a theory about how zombies was originally planned to be played. Of course on Verruckt, the BAR room had a window that looked out to the dripping water hallway with the Thompson wall buy. Everyone knows this (I think) but it was planned to have someone mount that gun on the opening in that room.
My theory is that zombies was originally a “defend the bunker” style game meaning that I believe they wanted us to find a spot and camp out as we shoot at zombies spawning rather than letting them in and run circles.
On Natch, the closet that has the sniper has two peculiar things about it: one being that it is more powerful than the wall buy Kar, and the fact that it has a scope. The stairs by the closet has the words “salvation lies above”. Natch zombies spawn slow and take time to finally get to the buildings.
I think Natch was originally designed to be played as again, a defense style rather than how we play now. I think they originally wanted us to stay upstairs, by the closet, and defend as the zombies spawned. One player defends the inner building as zombies get in, the other 3 with the scoped Kar’s looking out the broken debris and window picking off the zombies as they come down their spawn lanes. And I could be wrong, but I believe that’s why Natch zombies spawn so far back and each have a respective lane they follow to the windows. Also could be the reason why the max amount of zombies to spawn on higher rounds is 24 and that’s what it was coded to be but this could also be due to technological limitations back then.

Considering that the mode is based of the flash game The Last Stand, camping out somewhere is absolutely how it was originally meant to be played.

There was a tower/bunker defense mode based off of a bunch of old flash games being made at the same time as zombies, but it got cut in n favor of zombies due to the devs having more fun playing the zombies mode. Jesse Snyder had a good blog post on the origins of the mode.
Always wished they had made a spot or two in each map that was designed for mounting
if im not wrong, there is actually one spot on Verruckt to do that. U got to open a door with a wall buyable BAR inside where u can mount weapons
@@butaneroyt6229 and maybe on solo it wouldn't work but with coop you can have your buddy train the zombies, then lead them down the hallway where you're deployed

Really wish they kept mechanics like this around and designed more 'bottleneck' areas into maps. Training zombies will always be number one, but few things are more enjoyable than trying to hold the line camped somewhere with friends trying not to get overrun. Der Riese catwalk for example is one of if not the most iconic location that I always had prone mounted players with LMG's in sync to fire everytime one of the two had to reload. A strategy you could find success with even in a game with randoms.
To be fair though, I remember Jimmy Z hated the idea of camping in zombies which is why it's never really been something encouraged by the map design.
I used to go into Nacht on xbox and tell people to mount on the sandbags near the gun cabinet. I would crouch there to let them do it because when you mount on Nacht it crashes back to the main menu ending the game for everyone

I totally forgot about this
Instead of increasing the strength of zombies and keeping the amount of zombies on the map the same, it would've been interesting if they tried capping the strength to a certain amount, and increasing the amount of zombies on the map at one time. That way not every gun is completely useless, not every player gets shafted because they don't have a wonder weapon, and then the game doesn't depend on how long you can train zombies for, but how fast you can kill them because of how quick they're pouring in.
That’s what they did with Black Ops 4. After a certain round the zombie health stops increasing
I'm fairly certain the only reason there is a 24 zombie limit is, because of a technical limitation. High rounds weren't meant to be possible and it's obvious, because the game gets boring this way really fast.
Wow! This is so cool. Learning more about Verruckt makes me happy, as it's easily my favorite map of the original four.

There's a Turret under the fountain ⛲️ on a podium under the map you can only see it whilst in no clip wonder what they was gonna do with that
I remember hearing somewhere it was going to be an activatable turret, and I think there’s leftover code of it

I remember being able to mount on the window upstairs on nacht der toten. It would crash your game 100% of the time
The biggest glitch me and my mates found was years ago on bo3 shadows of evil you could go to the cannal area use your swords and jump onto the box we would use that to get to extremely high rounds 😂it was the saddest day when i got busted by the box trying to get back up
The real question is does this work in the small BAR room near spawn?

Honestly its pained me for at least 10 long years now that I've not been able to use John Banana's BAR. In that OBVIOUSLY intentionally made little kill zone.

Yah know it sucks that deployable lmgs never got fully implemented,if you no clip out the map and go under it you’ll find a whole row of mountable lmgs,and in the middle if you go to the fountain you have the option to man a deployable m42
There used to be an infinite ammo glitch in multiplayer using mounted weapons, when you mounted them you pushed back on the thumb stick and there you go, unlimited ammo lol was that easy

I recall doing this glitch years ago on PS3 and saw that it would crash the game. I did the exact same setup of using a teammate to crouch in order to mount the gun and that would always crash the game on PS3. So it was patched out to crash the game or does it not crash on Xbox or PC?
I have done it plenty of times on PC with no issue
Only happens on verruckt. Doing it on nacht will boot you from the game, even if you're the host.
Finally! Those bypods will be a use.

I can’t wrap my head around why anyone would want to do that though. I’m guessing 3arc had no idea what kind of strategy players would use, or they never thought we’d be getting past like round 15. Shooting in the courtyard is a total waste of time. The guns are useless after like round 20 in WAW, imagine trying to keep the machine gunner alive while also trying to kill the rest of the zombies. The more I think about it the less sense it makes
