1:16 that shot when Joey turns around and sees Chandler kissing Kathy reminds me of when Ross turns around and sees Rachel glaring at him in "The Morning After"
It’s crazy to imagine that writers kept inspired for 10 years. Every line written is perfect and it got better and better every season. I mean, for comedy it’s really hard to keep in high level for many years.
There was a lot of wonderful writers sitting in one room and all together creating lines. When i was watching the documentary I actually saw a lot of people.
That's a good point. But to be fair, Joey caught Ross & Charlie kissing first. He didn't even know that Ross was into Charlie at that time. Only then he decided to kiss Rachel
@@tirthankarsarkar4206 that's not the excuse at all because Joey already ignored Charlie long before they made it to Barbados, so he practically broke up with her, Charlie was also only one of Joey's conquest, never important to him, not as Rachel was to Ross. And also, it's like you forgot all the context of how Joey's thing for Rachel started. Charlie/Barbados/Rachel/Joey happened in season 9/10. Joey started to have a crush on Rachel in season 8. And in the episode in season 9 when Emma is born - so before Barbados - when Phoebe talks with Ross in the hospital - famous talk - Ross quietly admits that he still loves Rachel, when Phoebe says it. But Ross says it's complicated because they don't want to ruin things again, so they are afraid to try. So clearly, he never stopped loving Rachel, and Joey knows what Rachel means to Ross, and again - Charlie never meant to Joey what Rachel meant to Ross. So, sorry, if you know all the context, Joey has no excuse, it as awful what he did. also the proposal thing was awful too.
@@bangpinkistherevolution2684 No, that's not how that works exactly because of how complex Ross&Rachel relationship was, and that they never really stopped loving each other, they were just in denial and afraid to try again, to not ruin it again. @@tirthankarsarkar4206 Joey totally forgot about Charlie when they were in Barbados, kept acting awfully toward her, and left her alone. So he practically dumped her right then& there, if you don't remember, rewatch it. Charlie was never Joey's greatest love, as Rachel was Rosses. And it would also never work because of one simple rule: in the case of best friends like this, one friend would NEVER go for the mother of a child of another friend. It's simply messy and awful. And Rachel was already a mother of Ross's child then. This storyline was just awful in general, the worst thing about Friends. And even Matt Le Blanc and Jennifer hated it, and wanted it to end.

Sorry, but Joey turned out to be a hypocrite later on when he started his thing for Rachel. Now I remember Joey did even worst than Chandler here. Joey not only kissed Rachel but he accidentally proposed and didn't clear the air for the entire day!! It was such a stupid storyline anyway, clearly just for the pure comedy and laughs. But it was awful behavior on Joey's part, towards both, Ross and Rachel. Joey picked up the ring by accident without any intention and it was Ross's family ring. Joey lied to Rachel& Ross by omission, never clarifying anything to Rachel or saying anything to Ross. Context made it 1000 more horrible: Rachel was the new mother of the baby of his best friend and the love of the life of his best friend. This is breaking the bro code 1000 times over. He had ALL day, to tell the truth, that it wasn't a proposal and it wasn't even his ring, yet he didn't say a word, allowing Rachel to think he proposed, and also never told Ross that he acted this way and that he literally used Ross's ring. If that was not enough, it was just after Rachel had Ross's baby!! It was a betrayal, Friends don't act like this, especially since Joey knew what Rachel means to Ross. They ruined Joey's character with this stupid, nonsense storyline and what's worse they started it in season 8 for pure idi0tic laughs because we know it didn't go anywhere. It was one of the WORST moments of the entire show! I'm glad even the actors: Jen and Matt Le Blanc, hated this storyline and wanted it to end; they talked about it in various interviews.
Its not hypocritical.. not the same thing at all. Joey didnt kiss Rachel whilst she was dating Ross. Chandler kissed Joey's at the time girlfriend. He went behind his back and stole his girl. completely different from him and Rachel

0:37 respect for what ross did here, many wouldnt do this...
Yea, I definitely think it's best show of friendships. Ofc it's called Friends but they did a great justice
Yes, Joey walked right into that when he offered Ross his best friend spot, Ross doesn't want to see his best friends fall apart.
Ross was really a good friend when everyone else was mocking him

joey cares the MOST about friendship
I'm sorry being written 30 times in the back is such a cool detail
In most episodes, they had some wee inside joke or backstage gag written on the board 🖊️
Man I noticed for the first time. Thanks!😂
Talking about at 2:29 on the tiny board
I kinda understood Joey, but he did kiss Rachel before Ross was told how he felt

Ross and Rachel had broken up years ago
Charlie and Joey had just broken up
And Joey and kathy didn't even break up when they kissed

The title made me think of Whitney Houston song...Heartbreak Hotel and of course I'm about to listen to it!
