Shimba Hills ist den meisten nur als Shimba Hills National Reserve bekannt, dem ältesten Nationalpark Kenias. Shimba Hills selbst ist aber ein viel größeres Gebiet im Hinterland der Mombasa Südküste mit den schneeweißen Sandstränden die sich von Diani bis nahezu Msambweni hinziehen. Alles das gehört zum Kwale County. Ich hatte mich auf eine Mopedtour begeben, die eigentlich ein Mangrovenprojekt in der Nähe von Msambweni zum Ziel hatte. Irgendwie hatte ich mich unterwegs anders entschieden, bin sozusagen einfach mal drauflos gefahren und hatte ein überraschendes aber auch angenehmes Zusammentreffen mit der Polizei.
Die Natur um Shimbahills Town ist beeindruckend, wenngleich der Begriff Town für dieses Dorf in den Hügeln sehr hoch gegriffen scheint.

Somehow I had decided differently on the way, so to speak I just drove off and had a surprising but also pleasant encounter with the police.
The nature around Shimbahills Town is impressive, although the term town seems to be very high for this village in the hills.
