I was hoping Barbara would show the picture on the front, are you in West Palm Beach or St. Augustine? Both Memorial Presbyterian Church’s are beautiful but very different.
Pieces usually look better the more time you spend on making them look good. I think it pays off not to try to rush. Enjoy the journey. These pockets look great!
The finishing touches like stitching adds so much character and looks absolutely beautiful. Love this page with distress postcards and adorable little pockets. Barbara, you’ve done it again❤️
Try heating your paper from underneath the powder will not blow away as much. You can finish it off heating the top after it melts. Lovely page. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦
I feel like I need to comment again and thank you for doing this #dephemerember for us. I have learned so much from you both. I'm so excited to have a journal to have as a reference to make more art journals! Thank you so much! The time you both spend sharing your knowledge with us is priceless. 💗
I like this page a lot! Watching it come together is a lesson for me. I have a bad habit of approaching everything like a job, get it done in the most efficient way possible. I think that is because I worked in an extremely busy environment most of my life and after retirement I learned I have MS. I want to leave a legacy of art for my grandchildren so I am trying to accumulate a few journals for everyone. I realized, thanks to you, that rushing is a huge mistake. The care and thought is what makes your work so very special and I do want these pieces to show my love, they will not do that if I try to mass produce them.
Informally get what you are saying! I also have the mindset of being efficient. We need to be more mindful and enjoy the process of creating as well! ❤️😘
I so appreciate your techniques in the ephemera making. But today I especially appreciate your encouraging comments at the end of today’s episode. Thank you
Beautiful! Note that the TH Embossing Glazes are clear once heated. To get color, you have to use a colored ink. They are made to go over the matching Ink. Without colored ink, they are just clear.
My embossing glazes from Tim Holtz are not clear, but they are transparent. It will be more vivid to use them over a similar ink color, bu it's not necessarily if you want a subtle look. If the water method gets too frustrating, you can always use embossing ink... it holds the powder to the page better. Just food for thought!
So so beautiful!! I can say that through experience, I agree, the effort put into the page is so gratifying. It’s a lot of work, but worth it. Very nicely done Barbara.
I had a fit of giggles. I thought you had said "skinny pigs" and I was thinking you were nursing sick pigs back to health, but couldn't figure out where you could be keeping barnyard pigs in an apartment. Assumed housing/regulations must be very different than here in Canada. So helpful to see the inserted pic!!
Good morning from Minnesota USA…I am glad you mentioned about taking time for details and the joy it brings later when you experience your journal…I find I am amazed at how it looks in the future flip thru…I needed that reminder to do what you love in your journal and experience the joy of the journey of creating❤️I am really enjoying this series with you and Louise ❤️hugs
Iam very new to making ephemera, your videos and so valuable because you examine why you're making your decisions and also teaching tips for process. TY
I thought you said " skinny pigs" ... I played it back and heard that again, thank-you for showing us a cute picture of giniea pigs!🤣😂. Love these post card pockets! Thank-you for showing us that beautiful outdoor background and for more freebies! Wow! You are so considerate. Oh ... and your snack did look yummy.😃
Every time you show yourself outdoors it looks so beautiful in Vienna. I love your page and the gold and turquoise combo is so pretty. Hope you and your little visitors have a chance to become friends.
Absolutely gorgeous page. Yes, details definitely makes a difference. Your Junk Journal book is stunning. So much love was put in the journal. Each page is gorgeous and unique with prints, textures , Tim Holtz products, color combinations, etc….Love it.
I like what you said about handmade ephemera making one’s journal more special. I can’t thank you two enough for all the time and effort and love that went into this series.💙
You never seize to amaze me sweetie with all your thoughts and creative finds 💕 all the techniques you try and use, you inspire us all . Sending a big hug 😘
When I go through the journals I have made they bring me joy from the art/craft but also the memory of making it. I still recall finding you during December Daily 2 years ago with the image of the 1950’s lady.❣️
Thanks for sharing the snack in your lovely garden. This page turned out so adorable. I love guinea pigs and their squeaks but have never owned one due to allergies. Also, thanks for the freebies & goodies!🤗🥰
The pockets are gorgeoussss. The imbossing gave a very special touch! Definitely, I'm making more elaborate elements, something I don't do daily, sometimes for laziness, I have to take all the material out of place every day, or disponible time. In this #Dephemember I wanted to commit to making elements that really challenge me to step out of my comfort zone and improve techniques that I love but I always leave it for later. I'm really proud of all the creations, all the time invested. 💙
LOVE this layout and how you used the postcards for pockets. FYI - you may or may not know that Tim Holtz uses the Ranger Heat Tool when using his Distress Embossing Glazes since it has diffused air so that powder doesn’t go flying around. Also, that they are Glazes (Transparent) as opposed to regular (Gold) embossing powders that are opaque. They do fly around a lot less when you use a watermark / embossing sticky ink pad. Thanks for another fantastic video! Have a great day! See you tomorrow! 🙂
Haha. I love the Christmassy pandas. Really like that arrangement of the 3 postcards. The bunny card is actually a hare I think. I like how you include sewing and making a little stack on your envelope.
What a gorgeous house behind you 😍. Mmm 😋 lemon flavour! You're so kind with the freebies and goodies 🤗. Felix was on my shortlist of names for my youngest son! That salvaged patina is gorgeous 😍 great with the yellow😍. A tiny amount of glycerine should help the glaze stick as you can emboss with it alone. Lovely effect! Aww poor guinea pigs. Good effect with the mixed inks, I've done it by mistake before but frightened to do it on purpose in case I spoil the pads 🙈. Great page Barbara 😍😍😍 gorgeous texture! Tfs and have a great day 💖💖💖
This was super inspiring! And, thanks so much for the freebie. :) I really agree with what you said in the end of your video. Even now I look through the ephemera I've made and it makes me happy and very content. :)
Thank you so much for the freebie & goodies. And you’re right about the distressing being an acquired taste. It’s funny how we went from wanting everything brand new & mass produced in the 60’s on & this vintage/distressed/handmade trend has only been going for maybe 10 yrs + now but seems to be getting more popular 🤷♀️
I haven't been able to start making the daily projects of Dephemerember yet, but I will be able to soon. I can't wait. You and Luise are both very easy to understand and follow how you do your beautiful art, I appreciate and enjoy very much both your video's. I love your cute ephemera freebies today also. Thankyou from Australia
Love how you stacked the postcards. Glycerin can be used to make powder stick better. Seth apter has one in a nail polish like bottle with a brush. Those guinea pigs are so cute
Hello Barbara, I love how your page turned out, absolutely beautiful, I liked the idea of the bunny peaking out more though, that's just my thought anyway. b 🦋
Wow! What a fantastic page! You are so inspiring. I love your ideas and I’m working my way through all the Dephemerember videos. Having so much fun watching you try the treats 😊❤
Thanks for yet another wonderful inspiration! This series is fantastic. It's funny because I had been realizing the same thing that you said here: taking the extra time and putting in more details was enriching the process for me and also making me more satisfied with the end result. I really love what you did today--and thank you for the freebies and goodies!
Crumpling your cards gave so much dimension. Did not know about water and embossing, thank you for sharing that tip. Hugs from down under.
Fun fact: The church on the blank postcard is about 30 minutes away from me and it’s still in use.
How fun!

That stencil pattern looks like "bunny" ears. So cute. I love your design. Thank you
I’ve been a paper crumpler for a long time. It just adds so much dimension to the project. As always, thanks for sharing.
Try heating from under the paper so the heat gun doesn't blow away the powder 😊
Try heating your paper from underneath the powder will not blow away as much. You can finish it off heating the top after it melts. Lovely page. Blessings from Canada 🇨🇦

The tip to use embossing ink for embossing is a good one! You’ll get much better results vs just plain water!
So so beautiful!! I can say that through experience, I agree, the effort put into the page is so gratifying. It’s a lot of work, but worth it. Very nicely done Barbara.
Turned out beautifully, I love the colour combination. The stitching always adds so much charm, can’t believe it’s day 12 already!💕🇨🇦
Now I see what crumbling the post cards does to make it look amazing and with the colors, Wow! Love it💖🐇
You can dampen the card or paper slightly to make it crinkle even more.
Just a tiny bit of lace really makes this!
I had a fit of giggles. 🤣🤣🤣 you are not the only one who heard skinny pigs!

All those snacks, walk and walk and walk outdoors In beautiful Mother Nature. Ty for all the goodies! Ty for all-I am learning tons!
I agree, it is the details that make all the difference. Hugs and blessings, 🤗❤️🇨🇦🎄
I love these!! Your techniques and the added ‘ what if I…’ adds so much more to the ephemera!❤ those are really cute skinny pigs 😂😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
Maybe heat from the back to set it first and it won’t blow off
Postcards for pockets...great idea!! The guinea pigs are cute!! ❤🤗
❤️❤️❤️. Thank you for the freebie, Barbara. Have fun with your houseguests
Love the garden view!! Bravo, love how you split the number 3 on the envelopes!! xo
The bunny 🐰 looks like it’s hiding in the shade of the envelope from the fox 🦊 Very creative interpretation
Barbara: I like the 3 postcards and then emphasizing it with the number 3. The coloration is super too. Carol from California

Your post card pockets turned out so great. You & Luise have been so generous with freebies & discounts. I just hate not having a printer.
Maybe you have a library where you could print?
I used to put printables on to a thumb drive before I got a printer and got them printed at the library 👍🏻
I like what you said about handmade ephemera making one’s journal more special. I can’t thank you two enough for all the time and effort and love that went into this series.💙
I really enjoyed watching this crumpled paper technique and how your glazing and powders worked out. I love the final result!

Once again super cute I love where you put the bunny in the end.
Haha. I love the Christmassy pandas. Really like that arrangement of the 3 postcards. The bunny card is actually a hare I think. I like how you include sewing and making a little stack on your envelope.
Lovecwhat you did with the post cards. Very brave
Just beautiful. One of my favorites
Super cute page. Love the colors you chose and your designs.
I love how this turned out.
You may have struggled with the embossing, but the page is gorgeous! Love the colors! TFS the inspiration, Barbara!
I love your postcard pockets. They made a beautiful page.
I am glad Felix and the gang made it in! This is my personal favorite from your calendars this year!
I love this so much! Thanks for all your great tips Barbara.
You have a thumps up from me and I haven't even watched the video... but just the beginning with you outside made me happy! 💗😍

Love this page!!! And thank you so much for the freebie!!
I had no idea you could use water for embossing.
Guinea pigs are so cute. Hope they calm down & you get to have fun with them before your friend comes back.
Well done. You are half way and I am still gathering materials!😮

Juhuuu Barbara, wieder toll geworden deine Karten. 😍 Danke fürs Freebie😘 LG
This is so pretty.
Iron the postcards after finishing coloring them but not embosding, keep the wrinkles loose the bulk!! Love your stuff!!
I do like how you crinkle things before you do anything else to them.
Love it!😘❤️
Absolutely beautiful pockets! You are so right about all the little details making such a difference.
Love it 😊
I really enjoy watching you 😊 greetings from Spain 😘
Mega schön geworden . Das mit dem Wasser embossen muß ich auch mal ausprobieren. Danke fürs zeigen. LG Uta

Wow! What a fantastic page! You are so inspiring. I love your ideas and I’m working my way through all the Dephemerember videos. Having so much fun watching you try the treats 😊❤
Try heating from the bottom, instead of the top.
Liebe die Farben!
Mega cool 🎉
