    6 point wrench preferable, better, than a 12 point. More metal contact on the nut/bolt equals more torque. There can be a difference. I've had bolts that wouldn't come out with a 12 point that change to 6 point wrench (otherwise identical, same length). 12 points held with access for hard to access nut/bolt. Use a 6 point when there's lot of space. 12 point more likely to round the head of the bolt or nut.
    Thanks for the video. I'll be sure to look for your products for purchase.

    Do you know why some shops say my explorer needs 7qts as opposed to 5.5?

      So they make more money.
      Or they don't know sh!t.
      My local Ford dealership was off by about that much also.
      I had to show them in the manual.
      Same with the coolant capacity.
      This was when I stopped getting my car serviced at dealerships. 🙄

    I would like to know where is the air tunnel that goes from the front of the vehicle to the vehicles transfer case to keep it cool you never change the oil at by Ford says but I hear you should it is usually has a flat tunnel that runs from the front to the where the

      Blind tunnel that takes the air from the very front down by the spoiler to the middle of the car to where your differential transfer is for all-wheel drive to the supposed to blow cold air up on it because it has nothing to cool it it is surrounded by the exhaust the starter everything that's on the driver side swamped it in that tunnel is what helps keep it cool where is it why don't I ever see it on any of the vehicles

      Please do not do it this way. When you remove the bolt, also remove the filter at same time. That way it drains as much as possible. But putting the bolt back on and then removing the filter, I can guarantee some oil ran back to the pan. Everything else looks ok

      You don't need to change your oil every 3000 miles. That's a total waste of time and good oil.

      @rcrookster 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PrometricUSA motorcraft filters are junk they have a 80% filter efficiency for the FL500S that goes on the modern explorer total garbage! Even super tech outperforms motorcraft with a 98% efficiency!! Use any filter but motorcraft if you own an explorer!!!!

    I hear that when a car goes over 100k miles, you should increase the oil thickness. Is this true?

    • @TimArdan
      @TimArdan 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Could have been true 30-40 years ago, but anymore, I’d stick to what the owners manual says.

    • @Mn09lfV6f
      @Mn09lfV6f 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@TimArdan Tim Ardan is not correct. "could have" equals I don't know about the subject. Earlier cars had graphs and guidance for owners choices to adjust for the owners relevant driving conditions. Today manufacturers don't do that instead using a one size fits all intended for the ignorant owner. Note the recommendations are made for a NEW car not a used/abused car. And lawyers/government have more say in recommendations than the engineers.
      "30-40 years ago" well the scientific pricipal doesn't change. Thicker oil still fills gaps and quiets down a noisy worn engine.

    • @Mn09lfV6f
      @Mn09lfV6f 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      True but not due to mileage. Due to excessive wear causing the engine to be noisy. It's an old solution for engines that have a lot space between parts causing noise.

    • @t436
      @t436 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends, newer cars you can't get too thick because VVT and the chances it won't make it where it needs to be. We talking like going from a 5W-20 to 10W-30 or 5w-20 to brotella T6?

      @cassandrajane3226 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is typical especially with vehicles in states with snow that salt the roads. Mine came from NY but bought it here from a dealership in FL. Underneath you can tell it came from a snow state from all the rust and build up.
