    When I was doing this water filters were not yet on the market .. don't drink from the lake but from springs where never a beaver has been ... oh yeah I have had giardia more than once but drank from hundreds of natural water sources .. I got giardia only when I got carless and drank where I knew I shouldn't ... If you are careful you don't need to filter unless you can't find a good water source ... just something to consider

    Great narration, tell it like it is. Many times I asked myself why I beat the shit out of myself during sleep deprivation forays only to say I can’t wait for the next time.

    This was a great video! I love how you are not afraid to show the grit in solo backpacking, but also show it as a great escape from everyday life. Keep up the great work and keep making fantastic videos!!

    Second vid I’ve seen of yours. Man you throw in some really cool elements like the city beginning but as far as the hiking and fishing I don’t see the juice being worth the squeeze. I mean who the hell beats the dog shit out of themselves for a couple of 5”ers. Maybe that’s the best thing that could happen for you because if you were ever unlucky enough to hook into a steelhead in the Idaho mtns. You’d be a goner hooked for life. Making vids of Steelies with a fly rod you’d find yourself 10 years down the road loveless jobless and sleeping on picnic tables keeping the wild animals away with your beer farts waffing out your waders. Odd thing is your not a failure of life but a complete success as your living with passion, purpose and the next tug. Awesome vid dude!! Music is awesome also.

    • @projectslowfire1262
      @projectslowfire1262  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Josh! Yeah, it was a lot of work for those 5"ers. But for me, not getting to see those kinds of landscapes very often, it's well worth it. And you are correct, if I ever hooked into a steelhead in the Idaho Mountains, I would probably succumb to the trout bum lifestyle. Which honestly, doesn't seem all that bad, not sure why I haven't done it yet. Thanks for the comment though man! Makes all the work worth while.

    Great video! Can’t believe you went up the big waterfall twice man, you are a glutton for punishment. I camp on top and fish above the next waterfall. Those mosquitoes brutalized us this summer too. Again, great video.

      @projectslowfire1262  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Oh man, I'm glad someone understands how brutal that was. I think I know what campsite you're talking about, there was a couple guys camping there. It's a sweet spot man. You bring your full packs all the way up there? You are also a glutton for punishment 😂 Nice work 💪

    Dude! Fucking awesome vlog hah! I was captivated and laughed out loud literally. Killer shots of the wilderness and crazy city footage. I’d say you have a knack for making these sort of whatever you call em. Stoked you got to put some goldens in the net man. Cheers and thanks for making me laugh. Hope you get to get back out in the mountains this year!!!

    Damn.. did not know what to expect at first. But I must say.. great video.. you put some time into this and it shows.. the music is very intense and thought provoking.. I enjoy backpacking and fly fishing here in the sierras. We too sight fish for goldens up here.. love this video. Thanks for putting in some awesome production value. It stands out.

    A great, high production video. There is a lot of truth in it; loved the comments on water filtering. In spite of the likely hood that much of the trip will suck, we have to keep going back...

    This was a wild ride. Really glad to have found your vid. You’ve got a knack for making a hilarious and weird fly fishing film without the pretension, while making me laugh, while trying to achieve something cinematic yet raw ... whatever all that means. Basically, this shit was so unique and I enjoyed it a lot. I wish I was backpacking right now. Thanks dude. Also, where do you get your music?

    Great video..raw..really captured my thoughts on current climate of cities contrasted to the wilderness. I'll take a swollen turned ankle, hunger and mosquito bites to an Antifa invasion. That spot with the creek flowing into the lake looked like an awesome spot. I think you could do a movie with some help.

    • @projectslowfire1262
      @projectslowfire1262  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Patrick! I appreciate it! Yeah man, I went and filmed all that madness on my own, none of that is purchased footage, I was there myself and it was absolute madness. Glad I moved out of the city a few years ago, to a town of 4,500. That creek was awesome, and full of angry brookies. Hopefully a can do a full film or something more in the future. Take care and thanks again!
