I'm thrilled that Midjourney Version 6.1 has been released! The latest modifications provide a number of fantastic features and enhancements that will improve the user experience as a whole.

I'm so frustrated right now. I didn't know about the update and Midjourney automatically changed the default version from 6 to 6.1. According to them it is supposed to be better with the human skin and hands but the results I got are worse than before. I was confused why almost all of my images had weird melted hands, opposite hands, additional fingers etc. The skin and the texture seems better sometimes but the limbs are completely messed up. I 'll be using the previous model, at least for now.
Its irony that one of the new update MJ note is "More coherent images (arms, legs, hands, bodies, plants, animals, etc)" and I also have opposite results :D
It’s all about how you prompt and style size stick to 150-475 -s and don’t use commas. Stick to short descriptions like riding a bike shorten to bike riding
6.1 has messed up my abstract prompts. I now have to reword them all to try to get back what I had (so I can make more of them). For example, the new 6.1 has hyperfocused on "cyber matrix" and interpreted it as "circular scribbles." Sigh. So I have to stick to 6.0 for these images. So aggravating. For real life images, it's okay but I haven't noticed any small details in my prompts where MJ 6.1 suddenly decides to "see" the "little shit" (like a full moon combined with style codes--the moon disappears in 6.1. so it too had to be reworded). 6.1 has also brought with it, for me only maybe, a new personalize code. That too has changed some things. MJ needs to be able to combine personal style codes.
I noticed image quality has decreased in6.1 compared to 6.0.. I notice that image quality drops with each new update until it re-learns what it's doing
What I’m noticing is the lighting is not correct on the hands / arms / feet. It has a strange sheen almost like purple fringing or digital noise (but not purple). You can see it at 02.41 in this video, as an example, the blown highlights which give off a digital shimmer when you zoom in on the right figure. If you are paying for fast hours it can be very lucrative for the vendor to not give you correct hands, there must be literally hundreds of millions of re-generations around hands, creating huge profits. There is no financial incentive to fix this.
I didn't notice that! I hear what you're saying, however hopefully the draw of high quality will eventually be the financial reason to improve. Only time will tell though, it may not be fixed for some time!
I kinda hope they dont forget describe on the old Discord server. I would really enjoy if they put it on the website.But I dont think it optimized anymore for these new versions.
If you upload an image to image prompt on the website, there's a little 'i' symbol you can click on and it gives you some descriptors. Not quite the same but similar. I hope they add the function soon too.
A bit of both, before i went fulltime on TH-cam I managed to save a tonne of time in my graphic design / web design business, but now I also make a little passive income from print on demand and stock image sales. I think people try to find a way of making money with AI but don't realize it's part of the solution, you still need to understand the business you're going into it with
Haha, I still haven't really tried them out. The whole Stable Diffusion upscaler thing is now becoming common and easier to access so I've just been using Leonardo AI for it.

Ive heard a few people complain about that now, I had the opposite experience.. It sucks it seems to go backwards in some instances :/

I hear you mate. If it helps you can add both codes separated by a space and even weight them with :: after each one (eg --sref 676::2 111::1.5 )

You may have made a small mistake, make sure you're using 6.1, and add --q 2 (space before then dash,dash,Q,space,2 - no other spaces
