@JJ Roofing Supplies I appreciate your all 4 parts install a Velux Centre Pivot Roof Window in such a detail explained. I watched over and over again all the phases to proceed with the mount of the window on a therace roof and so I understood how to perform. It took some time to myself to figure out but I finished the install without errors. Thanks a lot for this guide, because the documentation received in the packages is not in so much detail. The challenge was a Velux Standard GZL 1051 MK06 78x118 and Velux EDW MK06 1000, 78 x 117.8 cm.
I highly recommend anyone fitting one of these windows watches this series of videos. They are brilliantly detailed. And thankfully show how to correct the mistake I’ve just made by fully opening the window before detaching the sash! Every day’s a school day 😬 I have to say the instructions enclosed in the box are not that clear, so this video is a must for anyone who isn’t familiar with fitting a Velux. Thank you 👍
It looks easy when you install from the inside, in 16 years of roofing I think I have only ever had the pleasure of installing a velux from the inside around 3 times, the wrest of the times have been from the outside of the roof
These videos are great, but I wish there was a centre pivot window installed in profile tiles ie. Redland Double Roman. I'm having to combine the centre pivot window fitting with the top hung window fitting, in order to get the right flashings kit.
At 20:45 you're talking about a minimum clearance of 60mm to the top of the window - why? Most pictures of mountet windows look like there is nearly no gap. Could you explain that? Thank you very much! Btw: Best tutorial videos I've ever seen, perfect!
Thank God for these videos, they are amazing. The printed documentation with the windows (and accessories) are a pain to decipher. mainly as they jump between parts (and their separate manual). But what about the vapour barrier?
Great series helped us loads installing our top hung yesterday! Thanks. Only problem today is we opened the window, it kept drooping down so we lifted until it clicked but it's not coming down like it did for you. Seems like the spring mech is engaged but window wont move. Do we need to adjust the tension down first then disengage it? Its a UK04 weighs a lot so im worried about it bashing my head 😂 appreciate your advice thanks again
I used this kit EDW on flat plain 18mm thick marley edgemere tiles as i was advised by velux. Due to the aluminium profile if the flashing kit the tiles do not sit flat around the window. Have queried this with velux and had no reply. These videos are good but real life situations throw up problems that are not addressed.
I have just fitted my velux top hung and i hear the clicks to keep the window up but it wont shut and i have to stick a screw driver into the lock to unlock the mechanism. (any cure for this?
I encountered with 1 problem with this type of window: i lifted up the window and it wont come down. naw i have my velux with detached spring. Please help.
Hi I'm having an issue with the top hung velux that when it's fully open it locks in place and it won't close unless I use a screwdriver in the side spring lifting the h clip?
Renata fast forward video to 22 minutes 10 seconds, you'll see that the window is centre pivot to pivot and vent, but once the vent is closed it becomes a top hung.
