      Taner Dulger how did you get a sonic with a diesel engine???

  • @christophervizcarra8238

    Just bought a 2017 Chevrolet Sonic RS LT-Auto 5 Door, I test drove the LT & Primer and notice the Primer's suspension is stiffer which in turn sacrifices a just a little bit of the quiet cabin. I love my car to be silent yet deadly and most of all smooth 😜 All I did was chose the turbo engine with the convenience & drivers confidence package. Basically I got all the goodies of the Primer just no leather seats which is exactly what I wanted. Whats amazing is you get your moneys worth.
    Before making my purchase I took the time to test drive many hatchbacks and this is what I have found. Bear in mind that everyone's preferences of what they want in a car differ from mine. So I'm not knocking anyone down 👍🏻 Any car you love is a car worth buying.
    For me I focused on the following areas: Quality, Ride, Size (Similar to Sonic) Convenience, & Power (By Stock Only)
    Honda hatchbacks at least the most popular 1990's to 2000: Quality wasn't there overall, but the ride in todays models are quiet and nice and very convenient but only in upper trims. Power was not there stock wise only in the form of add ons, however mechanically its been outdated for years. Good thing is their cars seem to be very reliable and long lasting.
    Mitsubishi: Quality wasn't there, Ride was noisy, Convenience was there for upper trims, Power was there but not a gas saver.
    Subaru: Quality wasn't there, Ride was good, Convenience was good, and Power was there but reliability is an issue and little overpriced too.
    Nissan: Quality felt poor in low trims, Ride was noisy, Convenience was good, Power was not there and reliability was sub par.
    For me the Chevrolet Sonic was amazingly built from the bottom up, inside and out. You can feel it in every button and service. It's amazingly quiet, smooth, gears change like butter and are unnoticeable whether in Auto or in Manual Mode. Yes the Automatics have both to select from and without the annoying clutch pedal 😆 If the hard plastics bother you that much you can always add material over it. For me its beautifully textured so I let it be. The cloth that is used is actually very expensive. 138HP stock may not seem much but it is a lot compared to other subcompacts in todays market which range from the Chevrolet Spark 98HP to the Ford Fiesta 160HP. The Fiesta may have quite a bit of power but severely lacks quality inside and out and therefore is not worth the price tag. I'd stick with the 138HP in the Chevrolet Sonic and increase it.
    Overall don't take my word for it, go test drive one and see for yourself. If the Honda Hatchbacks were once known for their sports car potential; the Sonic is a great place to start on a budget. In Todays Market you will rarely find a car that spoils you for this price. Don't believe me check for yourself. Fun fact: The Chevrolet Sonic's suspension, build, handling, and tuning were all done by Specialized Corvette engineers and this one car that is excited to utilize the whole speedometer. There is also no lag when accelerating in anyway which the Spark had before.

    I just picked up the LT RS in magenta and I can't say enough good stuff about it. I absolutely love it!!! This car is amazing from the aggressive look to all the great creature comfort features it comes with. I know it's a small car but I don't feel like I'm in a small car. So much room in the front seat to get into just about any position needed. I am 6ft tall and I have an easy 6 to 8 inches of space above my head to the roof. Just an all around fantastic car for medium to large city living. Last but not least I feel slick when driving in traffic... and my Sonic get lots of looks.

    Huge,huge help for me buying a car. I'm a Travel Nurse and wanted to see if this was large enough in the car's cargo space to pack it for road trips and it appears to have features I really,really want. The heated side view mirrors are a must as well as the Turbo charged engine. I love Onstar and I had this with my prior car that still is on the road. I gave it to my Niece but had it painted and refreshed. It was a Pontiac Vibe,12 years old and drives great. I like the Sonic even more after you showed the RS model on TH-cam. I'm going to definitely test drive and possibly buy this car. I have a very GPS so I think this will be grew on gas and can go on road trips vs. fly in and rent cars.Thank you for helping me to decide what to seriously look at.

    i don't like the new headlights design in fact i think the old gen headlights design makes the car look more aggressive and just morre better looking. i also don't like the fact that gm decided to stick with the 138 hp limit might as well buy a 2012Ltz or a 2015RS. i really love this car because is so well rounded, and it does get better when you move up a trend, but it seems like it isn't improving overtime. it just seems like this car is destined to be number 2 in its class right after the fiesta and that hurts my heart since I'm a sonic owner (2012 Lt 1.8), and i want it to be so much more than this. Interior, safety, space, and reliability is fine, but it could totally be better in the performance and styling department (transformers 4 styling).

    I like how the Spark and Sonic Hatch look near identical. Wondering which of the two they are going to phase out - but I guess the appeal of the Spark is the mileage you get on it.

    That seems like a very well thought and put together small car! That makes me think : it could be interesting to compare it to Ford's littler sporty car (Fiesta ST).

    This is the second review of the 2017 and both reviews forgot to mention the drop space in the cargo bay. Your tire doesnt go under there.
    The cargo room in the Sonic is why I bought my 2014. As soon as they showed me the bottom piece comes out I was sold.
    It has been amazing what I can fit in this hatchback.
    I do not like the 2017 Exterior front as now all the chevy vehicles look the same. The previous front made the car stand out from all the rest in the line.
    I do like the new interior though.

      There are incentives you just have to keep looking.
      I got the Sonic RS LT-Auto 5-Door, $18,970
      Convenience package + $500
      Drivers Confidence Package + $500
      Tax & Fee's $1,000
      Golden Tag 20% ($4,000)
      Cash back $1,000
      ==================================
      $16,000 @ $250 per month
      When I was going to buy mine I asked to find a Sonic with a Chevrolet Golden Tag that took 20% off MSRP price tag, plus your $1,000 Cash Back. They found one and started the paperwork. For a car that pampers you, you can't beat $250 per month.

    For about $500 you can turn the 1.4 turbos into little beasts. CAI and Trifecta tune will add about 50whp and 55fpt. Add an exhaust , downpipe, and injectors .... Look out.

    Wait a minute, the previous RS had rear discs and now the new RS has rear drums?! The 1.4L in the Cruze and the Buick Encore puts out 153 hp. Why not put that version of the 1.4L in the RS at least? For about $1000 more you can get a Ford Fiesta ST with a 197 hp 1.6L and blow the Sonic into the weeds.

    • @Snake-ms7sj
      @Snake-ms7sj 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Think the new wheels on the new RS are horrid too. Painting them black makes them look smaller. Liked the silver 5 spoke wheels on the previous RS. Looked more sporty.

    • @CybertronianDestron
      @CybertronianDestron 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Jim Seeber Yeah for some reason they're making the RS package strictly an appearance package. Hopefully the discs up front are bigger because they really weren't enough on the '12- '16 models.

      because not that many buy the Fiesta ST, and the Sonic gives you plenty of power for small families. the Fiesta ST wouldn't be good for a small family, but for a single person it's fine. also real drums are more reliable than disc brakes, so you'll be fine.

    Dont know why people complain they back a lot of stuff in this for the price. 21k for a car isnt bad. Was recently looking at trucks but with how much they are even used and i wouldnt get a loan because 04s under 100k miles are still 15k and most banks wont give out a loan on them. So i found this car for around 15.8. Would prefer rear disks instead of drums

    good luck to anyone looking for a premier RS hatchback with a 6 speed manual tranny... even though it is the standard transmisision at no added cost, it appears that Chevy does not make such a model because nobody in SoCal has one.... good job GM... or perhaps dealerships are to blame for not ordering any?

    I went to a dealership and was looking at the touch screen when I test drove it I didn't have an aux cable at the ready do I have to have an aux cable plugged in to make the aux work because I wasn't able to touch the aux button to change it to aux when I was in test driving it because the one I was looking at didn't have Bluetooth and I don't want to be paying for it if I can't even use my own music

      I guess it depends on the needs, seeing It's just myself It fit perfectly, but I wouldn't justify paying $30k+ for the same features or a bigger car unless you intend on having family road trips or so. Even then my friend has 3 child car seats in the back with amazing room.

    Okay Need anyones INPUT. I have a a Canadian 2017 Blk Chevy Sonic RS Turbo LT bought Aug 30th, comes stock with the 17" blk wheels. Does this mean I have the sport or touring suspension. Meaning the touring is more comfortable driving in if that is what I would have ??? Also I noticed in few videos that when the car is turned on the clear lights in shape of a check mark below the headlights flashes or blinks when car is turn on. How do I get my stock factory car to do this or can I. Does the cdn version come that way. kind of cool. Troy..Please help out folks.

    The Sonic, the Ford Fiesta, and the Toyota Yaris, all look so much alike. I have driven both the Ford and Toyota products, and both were just great little bottom line economy cars. The Yaris could use a little more than it's 106 hp, and could use a better automatic transmission than it's outdated 4 speed. Six speed would be better.

    How would you compare the stereo to the sound of the late generation scion tc? im I'm the market for a new car under 27k and stereo it always a selling point dor me and I appreciate your comments and testing of the audio system. seems here the sonic offers a lot of car for the money

      Dreaklock turbo whine? You don't want turbo whine lol. Turbo spool is what you mean and it's because of the stock air box system and the sound dampening that is required to pass certain tests. Easily can hear some spool with a SRI or CAI

      Heartagram The hatchback has a lot more interior room (19.0 and 47.7 vs 14.9, cubic feet, seats up and seats down) which is more useable for hauling larger things because there is no trunk lid/rear window in the way, and for driving/parking in tight spaces the hatchback is 159.80 inches and the sedan 173.90 inches (over a foot longer). It was designed to be a hatch, most of the world would want the hatch over the sedan, and its larger inside in a smaller outside form....

    • @mertz313
      @mertz313 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      ImaFirinMyLazuh You have a point. Although in the US hatches are nowhere near as common as sedans
