Nigerian singer-songwriter and dancer Qing Madi, born Chimamanda Pearl Chukwuma, is making waves on social media following the success of her debut concert in Uganda. This marks her first major performance since rising to fame.
Popular Instagram blogger Tunde Ednut shared a video from the event, claiming Qing Madi earned an impressive N493 million for her performance. In his post, Tunde wrote: "Omo, Uganda get money. This girl don go far. They paid Qing Madi 300,000 dollars to perform. Correct me if I'm wrong, but she should be the first 18-year-old getting paid this much and selling out her first show in Uganda."
Reflecting on her experience, Qing Madi, who rose to prominence with her 2022 hit single "See Finish" and the follow-up track "Ole," spoke about the challenges she faced. She recalled how many people discouraged her, saying the tickets were overpriced and that it was too early in her career to hold such a concert. Despite the doubts, she expressed gratitude to God and her Ugandan fans for their support: "I had my first concert in Uganda 🇺🇬… the most special day of my musical life ❤️. So many people tried to discourage me, saying it’s too early and that no one would attend because the tickets were overpriced."
