Not even exaggerating when I say it gets infinitely better, pushed the boundaries of what an abridged show can do, people who never watched dragon ball can also love it
They really shouldn't do that, People who watch this first always get the worst misconceptions of the show and carry the worst stereotypes for characters, I am not hating on DBZA but that is the facts. No first time watchers experience should be with the parody abridged of anything.
I think you're right about that actually, but I just like some of the parts they added in the abrigded, also the pacing is alot better
@@Waluigiisbest99 a lot of reactors first time watching anything Dragon Ball related watched this first, JacktheBus is a good one and he's already finished Super and Broly, played Kakkarot and FighterZ. TFS bring him up sometimes and they're grateful they were his first experience. As an older DB fan I dont think there's anything wrong with DBZA being the first experience

It wild looking back on these old episodes, especially knowing how the bar of quality raises over time, like from episode 1 you'd think Kaiser was struck by lightning sometime during season 2 and suddenly gained a great sense of humor. I unironically enjoy the Piccolo myspace bit, its stupid, but its a jab at Piccolo being lonely, which is true to his character, I think that's why it works. I suppose I shouldn't throw Kaiser under the bus, a bunch of people contributed and this was the final product so they're all to blame haha
I really hope Nick continues to react to DBZ Abridged. It's hilarious.

It's a bit of a rocky start but I promise you Nick this turns into the greatest fan made series of all time, so glad you chose to watch this
Show gets so much better after a few episodes, production quality and comedy really improves
All the references they make only make sense if you've actually seen all of the Dragon Ball episodes, the movies and dbz. It works by itself too but, it's not the same as for example, catching the Turles reference that Raditz made. Basically it's kinda like watching Avengers Endgame without having seen any other MCU film.
Pausing every 30 seconds, is this what we can expect from this reaction series? Brilliant.

I just found out that Nappa is 8 ft 10 which makes sense since he towers over Piccolo who is 7 ft 5. Raditz is 6 ft 3.

@@kobold7964 I'd say the entire first season is pretty rough. Second season gradually gets better until it becomes really good. Once it hits season 3 it doesn't drop in quality at all. It's great the entire time.

@@user-ff6dl9zr7u Uh no. The dialogue and quality throughout season 1 is iffy and riddled with 2010 internet "le randumb xddd" memes. Sorry, bro. Those don't age well. There are obviously moments here and there that are good, but it's not remotely consistent. It doesn't get consistent until the ginyu force and it doesn't get consistently good until right when Nail fuses with Piccolo.
Next episode is even better. The yoshi joke is actually really funny

TFS didn't start that at all, Dragon Ball fans love blaming shit on TFS but most misconceptions about DB existed long before TFS

taken me all the way back to 2008. Of all the things Nicholas could react to I would never expect this. Hope you stick with it, the first few episodes haven't aged all that well, but it gets pretty great.

This is definitely an example of Old TH-cam. You would see Flash animators from NewGrounds branching out to do projects like this, on TH-cam. Early on, you'd get a couple episodes per year. At one point, they started offering these every three months or so. Like the name says, they abridge the episodes, and remove a lot of the stuff that made the original show drag, like staring at each other with no dialogue. The storyline also takes a path of its own, and I kinda like it better. I've also gotten used to the voices, so that the originals sound a bit weird, now. I think it's a great way to binge & revisit the series without fluff & filler. It's really hard for me to stop, once I've started watching it. They say it gets better. I can confirm that. Also, it doesn't take very long to do that.

Try to keep in mind that the depictions of the characters are exaggerations and meant to be parodies. I'd recommend watching the OG before continuing.

It's one of my favorite abridged series. You need to know season 1 is a little boring ( first 6 episodes) but then it gets funnier especially season 2 and 3 🤣🤣 that's why it's one of the famous abridged series exist

after the first saga, this show takes a turn and starts taking itself very seriously while also making the jokes way funnier, there are legitimately amazing non comedic scenes and what they do with the source material makes it imo equal to the original
Dragon ball isn’t ur typical fighting anime its so much deeper then that if u take a minute to look into it the struggles of life goku journey from a child to the strongest man on earth ti the strongest in the universe to a god vegeta never being able to beat goku no matter how hard he trained and he trained like crazy vegeta went from a really evil ruthless guy to a family man piccolo who wanted world domination now really cares about gohan and is a like a second father to him dragon ball is so much deeper then just fight ofc the fights are amazing too toriyama had a very unique style of drawing and writing I think he will go down in history as one of the best authors in japan literature maybe even the world he inspired so many without him we wouldn’t have all many great anime i definitely deserves a spot in the hall of fame he really was a genius

Although, I'm pretty sure reaction channels existed back then. I remember that one channel makemebad35 or whatever.. the guy who would scream all the time, making reaction videos. Even made one to 2girls1cup (my friends used to make fun of the one part where it was slo-mo).
God, these older videos make me nostalgic for older internet. I hope they don't have to put warning on these the way they did on Rush Hour. Watching that movie nowadays on TV and seeing that the TV had to say "this movie was a product of its times" just breaks my heart.

I found this out when someone was disproving Popo being a racist character. Apparently there’s a demon or djinn in one of the real life mythologies and that is what Popo is based on. Since Popo is a genie (which is like a djinn). So any bad comment about Popo is pretty much immediately wrong since he resembles the djinn itself.
I recommend that you watch one of the later epsiodes by them or even a short movie. The first 15 epsiodes arent bad at all but i could see it being hard to get into if you dont watch Dragonball as for the later episodes the comedy will carry the show so hard you wont even notice

I agree, TFS is the GOAT, and old TH-cam was great, and while a lot of ASMR is trash (or was before YT put down the ban hammer even on a lot of innocent ASMR channels), ASMR helps me relax and helps me (a chronic insomniac) sleep. It may not be for everyone, but it serves a purpose... the good and ACTUAL ASMR at least.
