    Thanks for the great review, purchased this sling for my NYC trip also (just returned to London yesterday). Really great bag for anyone who is still deciding. It was nice not having to carry anything in my pockets when it was warm out. I brought the A6 memobottle which fits comfortably inside, and on the cloudy days I swapped this out for an umbrella which came in handy. As mentioned it's great for carrying on flights and for cycling around the city. It was easy enough to switch to the front which I did whenever walking through congested areas like Times Square where pickpocketing was a concern. The tan strap and black leather works really well with summer outfits, even looked quite elegant when in Jazz/Rooftop Bars.

    Mini sling is my all time favourite sling.
    Perfect size for daily driver.
    It sits well as a sling.
    Considering getting the premium version now.

    Loving your reviews. very thoughtful and comprehensive. some of the best in class. Just a tip with putting this on (my mate has oen) is that he uses the magnetic clasp to attach it. cheers

      I started doing that but I don't always do it, sometimes it twists and I end up fiddling with it longer and then having to take it off my back, back to the front, clasp then put over my head

    You sold me on this bag especially with a water flask and your passport travelers notebook fitted in. I love how you videotape yourself wearing in different activities and places which is missing in a lot of these reviews videos. Thanks!!1

    Great review detail! I love it. My paranoid self would add a small carabiner on the zipper that would reach the "side-strap loop" for security purposes.😅

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think that's a great idea especially if you're walking in crowded cities. If you want something with an integrated zipper with lock capability though, where I used a small S lock carabiner as a "lock", there is this one I did a review on th-cam.com/video/Iki69xrxh5Q/w-d-xo.html

    Great review. You really need to try out the Bellroy Venture line. The entire Venture line is fantastic; the slings and backpacks. The 2.5L is a perfect sling. The 9L holds so much. The 1.5L is perfect to wear all day to hold your essentials. And if you can, try the Sacoche. It holds more than you think, it’s light and remains very comfortable. I was pleasantly surprised . I am a huge Bellroy fan!

      interesting they kept the same line name for backpack and sling as they are such different products. Do you have the Sling Mini yourself? Wondering what your thoughts are on this VS Venture. I quite like Bellroy as well, been eyeing their wallets for a while but haven't found "the perfect one" to replace my current one. I recommended Bellroy backpack to my friend, I also have their Transit Workpack th-cam.com/video/xfOhcW8P6xM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=8PPtXCeZ8Fy48CV4

    Good review.
    The key hook seems like it should be in the front compartment, so the keys don't scratch whatever's in the main. The sunglasses pocket at back of the main compartment places it against the body, so everything else is pressed against them. The magnetic clasp seems pointless, only half used when taking off (not putting on) and you have to fiddle to reattach it. All your most valuable stuff could be lost if it came undone when you're on a bike.
    I bought the Venture 6L and regret it, an expensive mistake. It's good that it doesn't have the magnetic clasp, but when the main compartment is closed there are holes either side, a way into the bag for rain and way out for small objects. Every Bellroy sling seems to have different annoying design flaws, which shouldn't be the case considering the price.

  • @jonuiuc

    I probably own too many slings, but from Bellroy I got the Venture 6L and Lite 7L (the venture feels like it can fit more to me), they both feel more like 3-4L bags tbh. The venture I consider better in every way, except the lite is much lighter and more packable. I'd go lite mini if you are gonna go that packable route, if you are going to the larger sizes, the extra structure and internal pockets/org of the venture one might appreciate more. The smaller venture ready sling interests me, but I already have another sling that size so... (I'll wait for a deal lol).

    • @GadgetsGearCoffee
      @GadgetsGearCoffee  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      thanks for sharing! Lots of helpful info. I wonder if the Venture came out later than the Sling Mini, the Venture has what seems like a newer compression gusset system that I believe works better. I'm not sure why I didn't end up going with the Venture when I was looking at slings, perhaps decision fatigue (was looking at several brands in this size category) and I do like the premium look though. Just wore it tonight for essentials for a night out! The Venture 6L does look quite small though, especially next to my Apalka sling since it seems a little less robust and heavy duty. How do you like the bungee cord system on it?

    • @jonuiuc
      @jonuiuc ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@GadgetsGearCoffee I think the venture did come out later. Bellroy has a lot of parallel product lines, you sorta gotta dig in the details for the slight differences. The three big differences between the o.g. sling line and the venture is: 1. The Materials, the originals are more like urban and the venture more outdoorsy type material and look. 2. The opening, the venture zippers can open up more "widemouth" on either side than the og line, 3. The strap on the 6L is wider like 1.5in vs 1.2in on the og and lite lines, it makes heavier loads feel better, but also changes the proportions, so it makes the 6L venture seems smaller than it is. Its also has the metal clips on either side so you can un strap it from either side or completely (I really like this).
      I like the way the strap is mounted, the compression isn't really the biggest benefit, but rather how flexible it is. It wraps around the body flush at almost any position you set it. I think its because they are attached at different points (the rear mount is swen higher on the bag than the front) I think it stops the sling from twisting and always keeps the bag flush to the body. Some other slings I've had can sorta tilt away from you in some positions, or sit like a box at your side. I have some smaller alpaka tech pouches and a wandrd that operate as slings, and those are fine cause they are small but Belloys design here I think works the best all round, second best is probably the modern dayfarer active sling's pivot system.

    Awesome review. Saw you had the passport size traveler's notebook in one of the shots. Wondering if a full size traveler's notebook would squeeze in there with an iPad mini? Would totally rock this as an EDC when traveling
