Good job. I can’t imagine how hard it must’ve been to gap that coil with that cover in the way. I had the same mower with the same problem couple years ago. For those of you doing this, get that digital spark advance ignition off of there. Put the Kohler kit on it. Regular MDI coils. That spark advance crap is nothing but trouble. (DSAI OR DSAM) Oh, and I cut my cover off with a Dremel. Couple cuts across the bottom of those brass colored coil plates and the whole top will come off and you can bolt it back on. Screw it… it’s my mower and it’s 25 years old so I didn’t care. 👍. Thanks for the video.
Thank you. You Just described exactly the problem my Scagg cheetah II, is having. A fuel filter. I was going to change the fuel pump. A lot more expensive. Thank you so much poor technicians could not answer that question. I could not have my lawnmower down for four weeks. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
WOW you have no idea how much it help me to see this video my problem was the same and we were frustrated trying to figure out what was going on because the coil fail only when the engine was hot not when was cold was weird but THANK YOU!
same exact mower i got : 2024... im got to replace bothcoils - -- BUT... i did same as you /my cover came off and i pulled fan out it / all was out my way !
Have two tuf Tigers and it's completely ridiculous that between Kohler and Scag that they have a machine you can't do a basic maintenance on like replacing coils without pulling an engine or going through a ridiculous hassle. Also I never go through the hassle without replacing both.
@@chrisstokley7687 I used regular wrenches and sockets. No special tools were required. Someone may have over tightened yours. Mine were not unusually tight.

I noticed that your available amps jumped from 5 to 10. And then 10 amps with the blades engaged.
i watched this twice : i wanted see tools used to remove the coil bolts!mine sooo sarn tight/ scared goiong break off..

@@luhjawahn I honestly don’t know. I’m sure there would be some way to fabricate a roll bar if you really wanted to.
That thing it's got no power. That's sounds like that one cilinder isn't working.
