I’m glad you let the dead hair go. Health over length always. Your hair turned out so good. Nice and full. Hair always grow back. I would also look into investing in a hair steamer. It has been a game changer for me
I've been thinking about getting a steamer since forever. I really need to go on ahead and just buy one. What kind do you have if you don't mind me asking? 💜
@ I purchased a professional facial steamer from Amazon. It was around $80. It works just as good as a traditional steamer that you would sit under for a fraction of the price
I always end up trimming too much or cutting uneven pre relaxer. My hairstylist doesn’t trim as much as i think he should and i only see him every 4 months . Youve encouraged me to try my own trims again for my own sanity!
Ironically I cut the remainder of my breakage off last night, and now I have an 80s mullet 😭😭😫. I refused to cut off all my healthy hair in the back lol. Probably will add some tape ins or clips in to the front to mask it. Your hair came out great and it will be back in no time! ❤
You should consider hair botox. It's an intense, deep conditioning treatment that coats the fibers of the hair and fills in any cracks in the hair. It's been a nice alternative for me just to take a break from relaxing and helps with the damage I do to my hair with flat ironing it.
i second this. i’ve switched to botox treatments instead of relaxers (the vegan keratin based ones can help with loosening your natural curls so flat ironing is easier). definitely helps with the health and thickness of my hair
I definitely agree with just cutting it off cause in the end it'll look better, plus it will grow back. I would have underprocessed areas, and I was over applying my own relaxers, so I went back to the salon. I'm on month 7 of my stretch, and I'm not relaxing until Feb, so I'm really trying to watch that line of demarcation. I love that length on you. It looks great!!! 💜
@@kalishajnz I would definitely stick to the salon for all chemical services. The professional is able to see the back portion of your head. I know that the salon can be pricey but you don’t want to risk under or over processing your hair at home
@crystalburton3232 Yeah, there were always parts of my hair that would be too underprocessed, and I just got tired of it. It's definitely a service I'm willing to pay for, especially since I try to stick to only 3 relaxers a year. 💜
I was surprised you were gonna cut so much but then you changed your mind lol gradual is better than not at all though. It’ll grow back in 2 weeks 😄 Also, I love that you recommended Michelle’s book in your story, it’s so informative without being stuffy and reading like an encyclopedia.
I meant to ask this on your last video, but could you please vlog your trip to Paris! I would love to watch it. I’m obsessed with France and even learned French in high school, plus I love your vibe. ❤
When you are a relax hair lady, I think braiding our hair can put stress on the hair. My hairdresser is from old school and she told me when we relax/perm our hair, our hair is a totally new structure. Our strands are now straight, so imagine a lady with a 2A hair pattern braiding her hair all the time, this can cause breakage. I am not sure what your hair pattern is but when ladies with curly hair pattern perm their hair to go straight the texture of their hair will change to a 2B or 2C , so imagine braiding a 2B or 2C hair type, this can cause stress on your fine strands. Maybe when you were braiding your hair this could of been the contributing factor of hair breakage. Also braiding the hair can really dehydrate your hair and relax hair needs 100% moisture and the breakage is coming out now. But anyway a good trim and conditioner will help. 🙏💖
Hello, first time watching here. May I ask if there is a reason why you relax your hair in general? I’m just asking because if you like wearing your hair straight with body, you don’t need a relaxer to get these results. I press my hair weekly and I still have my curls, and I don’t have any problem with retaining length or heat damage. I did have to learn proper technique and practices (which I think is the main culprit for a lot of us tbh). I had to grow my hair out for over a year due to horrible practices and diy curly cuts. I got professional trims every 8-10 weeks but I’m happy to say I’ve finally cut the damage completely off last week and can focus on growing out my hair in 2025.
I was wondering the same. Her hair would thrive if she was natural. She would probably have less to no breakage. The bonds of the hair strands are stronger when they're natural. Relaxers weaken the strands. Maybe she'll consider it later. Either way, her hair beautiful. But the overall health of the hair is very important.
@ I don’t really believe in the whole “natural vs relaxed” rhetoric. Virgin or chemically treated hair can both thrive with the right practices and techniques. Her hair is beautiful either way (relaxed or not). I’m sure if she continues to relax and maintains trims to get rid of the breakage, she’ll be fine. Incorporating Olaplex or K18 would definitely help as well. I think professional trims would be better as well. To each their own though.
Sorry for the old message. I didnt mean to be mean, rude or unpolite but i didnt think it could hurt you and Im sorry if I did. Sorry again. God bless you❤

I need to look into a steamer! I was eyeing the one from pattern
@NiaraAlexis hi, I just bought the pattern an it's so good I love it, also thank you for your hair videos I am 58 and I have learned alot from
How do you use your steamer, before conditioning?
Regardless of a few minor setbacks, your hair always look good.❤
Now it falls even better than before. Nice job!

Oh wow, your hair turned out really nice. I love the volume and bounce.
Thanks so much! 🤎
Your hair turned out great, still looks full and voluminous. I always appreciate your transparency when it comes to your hair and the health of it.❤

Same here!!! I just found the joys of clip ins 😅
Yes just add a few until it grows out!
@@NiaraAlexis hey Niara, just wanted to say hello and thank you for all the hair tips! You’re really helping all the girls out and we appreciate it🥰
Same except I have a wolf cut now.
You ate! The cut looked so nice and clean! Looking forward to continue to watch it grow. You've got this❤
Thank you so much!!
You're beautiful. The reason I've decided to perm my hair. And you're absolutely right. Cutting dead ends is much better than keeping it for "length"
Health over length always! 🤎

Nice cut and love the result 😊

Could some of your hair loss be hormone related

I will 🤎
Perfect 🎉. See, you didn't have to big chop your hair. Continue doing what you do.

“I shat myself basically.” 😂😂😂😂
I’m sorry for pointing that out in the comments but girl I’m crying 😭 💀
😂😂😂
If I could give you an advice it would be to stop Olapex oil (or any bond repair product) for at while.
You did a great job. 🎉❤
Thanks!🤎
Great job! It looks so pretty. You should go ahead and go to hair school. 😊🎉
Gorgeous! Let’s get rid of dead weight 👏🏾🤍

Your hair still looks stunning even with the cut. Still looks healthy and lots of volume ♥️
AMAZING❤❤❤
Marvelous!😊❤
Beautiful ❤
Beautiful
Thank you 🤎
A dusting👌🏽
I dust my hair every wash day. But I think she should’ve trimmed way more. Hope it works out for her though. I love how she styles her hair
Why didn’t you go to a professional to cut your hair?
Because I prefer to do it myself
@@NiaraAlexis you also taught me how to do my hair myself . thanks😊😊
Overlapping could be the culprit....
👌🏽👍❤️
Damn everybody in the comments is happy you cut it but sadlyyy for me, did I grow attached to your hair? I’m sad to see her go 🥹
It’s just hair that will grow back 🤎
Sorry for the old message. I didnt mean to be mean, rude or unpolite but i didnt think it could hurt you and Im sorry if I did.

Maybe it's time to stop relaxing your hair. Let it return to its natural state. It's so much easier to take care of. Just my personal opinion.
@@1obedience she hardly relaxers her hair. The problem overall has been using too much heat in the past
