🦉📖 *. . . Fourth of July by the lake is a special day, maybe your favorite day of the year. School is a distant memory, summer days sprawl ahead. You experience the world through the sensations on the bottoms of your bare feet: the cool grass, the dusty path, the sun-warmed planks of the dock. You feel ebullient, full of an excitement that fires off in every direction at once. You and the other kids run wild through the yard, past the rusty old red truck, the tire swing, and grandpa playing banjo on the porch. You pass the whole afternoon plunging into fresh, cold water of the lake and re-emerging into the heat of the sun, again and again. When you return to the house, dripping and famished, the barbecue is sizzling and the picnic table is piled high with sausages, burgers, pie, and lemonade. As night falls, fireflies fill the yard with magical dots of light. You are dry now, muscles tired and warm from playing in the lake all day. Blankets have been spread out on the grass, and you flop onto one: it's time for fireworks! The distant booms and crackles mingle with softly chirping crickets as magical sparkles light up the sky over the lake. You stare until your eyes begin to blur, then droop. You can't remember another day so pure and beautiful and full of fun. You drift to sleep. . .*

Honest to God, this is exactly how I remember my 4th of July’s growing up as a kid in the 90’s in Nebraska. The sound of the boom’s from the fireworks in the distance. The sounds of crickets and cicadas singing throughout the night. The slight breeze in the cool of the evening. Growing up in the 90’s was absolutely magical.
This almost makes me cry. The fireflies, the fireworks, just beautiful. One of my favorites hands down.

Every year for as long as I can remember, my daughter and I have a holiday tradition. We pack up our folding chairs and head to downtown Kernersville NC to watch the fireworks 🎇🎆. It's nothing overly spectacular, just some beautiful fireworks and what we like to call, the Best view in the city. We park our lawn chairs under 2- Oak Trees. Spray on plenty of insect repellent, grab some ice cream from the local dinner just a few blocks away, sit back and enjoy the show!! And for a few brief hours, we relax, laugh, ohh and ahhh and just spend time being Mommy and Baby. 🎇💕🤗

It’s January 7th and I came here for summer vibes thinking about warm July’s evenings
I live in the woods in Florida .. The owls have an orchestra outside my bedroom window most nights, they converse back and forth with each other, the frogs, the crickets and an occasional Black bear overturning our bear proof garbage can, I sleep with contentment due to the Peace from my environment.. Sweetheart11 , have a barbque or picnic, swim if there is somewhere you can do that or even a sprinkler is fun for kids, some yummy ice cream, the fireworks. All my 4th of July’s have been different, not sure why. Some years big family cookouts, or beach party, sometimes lakeside, even camping. One year that was so hot went to the public pool with my husband and very young daughter, picnicked and swam, then watched fireworks later that night. Quiet, but a very nice memory as they all were. My family is now very small, many have passed away so I can relate to that. Just be with your children and it can be wonderful.

I love this! I love the sound of people talking, laughing, having fun in the distance. Could you do more of that? Like maybe napping on a blanket by a lake with people swimming and splashing in the distance. Kids laughing, a bird singing here and there, maybe an ice cream truck. I know I would love that!

Fun reading comments of people from outside the US enjoying our American tradition of Fourth of July. This scene is so idyllic and simple. It symbolizes country living from the tire swing to the classic pick up. It could represent any era in the past 100 years and still be accurate.
That's exactly what I hope to capture in these types of videos. I love that timeless feeling of rural America. I grew up on a little farm and my dad was a wheat farmer so I am very fond of that imagery.

Just getting into bed after a pretty quiet 4th. This is perfection and I'm almost crying because it's so comforting and magical. I'm immediately transported back to 1985 when my biggest care was a skinned knee. Thank you for this feeling.

Happy 4th of July 2023, everyone! My family's tradition is very similar to this video, with the swimming and barbecue, and fireworks. But before the fireworks, my whole family will hear me play saxophone with the community concert band for the big outdoor concert. This video excites me for these wonderful past and future memories.

This reminds me of so much where I grew up in the Columbia Gorge. We could not quite see the fireworks from where we lived, ten miles out of a tiny town in WA, but we could hear the sounds of the fireworks! :) And we had the day off from working on the little farm, aside from the feeding/caring for the farm animals. We always ended the day with strawberry sundaes, after a replete dinner of hot dogs and mom's homemade potato salad and watermelon! What a delight, and yes, we could hear the crickets beginning the dusk's chorus, added to by the night owls! What tender memories! It makes me really miss my parents and siblings who have passed on! God Bless this country and my family and friends! See you again SOON, beloved family! :)
Where in the Gorge did you grow up? That sounds very idyllic! I love to experience a 4th like the one you described. A year or two ago I spent my 4th down at the Columbia River watching from river park in Hood River. The Gorge is a great spot for fireworks!

I can't believe it's already been two years since this was posted. I've listened to this probably almost every day. I listen to it for writing and reading, in the background for story-listening. It's my only taste of crickets that sound like they're from "home," those low, slower not-constant crickets that I only heard in the desert. Fireworks are one of my favorite things and then you top it off with WIND CHIMES? I seriously don't think this has ever left my tabs in my browser. I don't know why, but I can't find those crickets anywhere without an annoying high-pitched constant ringing cricket alongside it.
Im glad you have connected so well with this one. I recorded these crickets myself near my home in Oregon. I also really like this style of cricket but maybe that’s just because it’s want I grew up hearing. The more high pitched cricket sounds are not very relaxing to me in general. I have some other videos that use this same cricket sound if you ever decided to watch any of my other summer night videos. Anyway, thanks for sharing your comment. Take care

I've been listening to this ASMR off and on since last June and never commented. By far I have never seen one this incredible. The distant fireworks with the wildlife in the background and sitting next to your loved one while you peer over the lake is beyond words. I live near an airport so fireworks aren't allowed, hearing fireworks in the distance is very soothing for some reason, I think the silent popping is great and knowing people are happy about something kinda makes me happy.

I've always love 4th of July, especially when the windchimes add a nice touch. The sound of the windchimes kind of remind me of woodstock or corinthian bells.

I feel like a kid most of the time, but when important holidays like July 4th and the holidays of the autumn and winter roll around, my child-like heart is at its strongest. It is the best feeling ever as a person who had a great childhood.
I hate summer - I'm vampire pale and avoid the sun, plus fireworks are too loud for me but THIS is a version of summer I can get behind!! Fun fact, a few coworkers once gifted me a bottle of SPF 100 with a note directing me to apply liberally that night as a full moon was due and they didn't want me to get "moon burn" 😄
haha I'm sorry to hear of your struggles but "moon burn" is pretty funny. I'm pretty pale myself but I still go outside a lot because I love nature and being active. I'm glad I could bring you a safer alternative to the real thing... maybe turn the brightness down on your screen to stay safe 😜😄

This is the BEST Ambience video I have ever seen!! I love the people sitting on the blanket watching the fireworks and they even move and interact with each other!! "I was born and raised in Southern Oklahoma and these scenes
bring back memories of the Independence Day Celebrations
there still going today but it's memories of when I was a kid
and later a teenager,I'm now 56 and thus growing up as a kid
in the 70's and a teen in the late 70's and early 80's in a small
Southern Oklahoma Town just trying to survive life....
the house I grew up in wasn't as big as the one here in the picture
it was a small one I lived kind of in a small town on the highway
and a few businesses on each side of the highway and going
East to West and I lived on the North side of the highway a few
blocks from town and the country backroads on further North
and on nights like this especially on the 4th of July some go
to the town park for the festivities and food and such sometimes
my family went my dad mainly looking up and talking to longtime
friends and my sister for friends and just to be seen,my brother
usually went to the nearby creek where he and his friends hung
out listening to heavy metal music and drinking but my mom who
was a semi invalid stayed home the neighbors usually brought
food over for her and me as I wasn't into the big crowds and
preferred to stay home and watch tv and just taking it easy
the nights back then looked so different than they do now as it's
no longer magical,I miss the way the stars shined back then,
the way the firecrackers lit up the sky and the echoes of people
enjoying the life that they were living....
Today its not the same but I still try to go with the times but it's not
easy as I'm a very retro person living in the past,this picture reminds
me of my past when life was difficult then as it now but you had more
freedom to have fun and just be glad to be alive so as I imagine myself
sitting on the front porch of this house with the banjo leaning up against
the wall,the dim porch light shining drinking a glass of cold ice tea looking
out at the picnic table filled with food and beverages,fireflies flying and
lighting up the night,an old pickup truck sitting parked next to the house
still in very good shape and conditioning,off in the distance firecrackers going
off all around me some from town and other parts of the town and those
out in the country along with the sound of barking dogs in the background
other animals can be heard such as owls,hawks,wolves,etc....
as the night gets later and I grow tired of the busy day I put everything up
then I take a long look around my surroundings and think to myself
I may not be rich but I have what I have and that's all I need,
so take care and stay safe and keep praying for us all and so
Good Night and GOD BLESS."😄😴💤💤💤💤.

Ohhhhhh headphones are the way to go with this one for sure! I didn't realize there were chimes sounds and I love the sound of people chattering, hanging out together and being social having a wonderful 4th of July. Again I have to say, this is such a lovely thoughtful video and audio. It's incredibly relaxing and since our 4th of July has been "canceled" this is the closest I'll get to the celebrations for the first time EVER in all of my decades of living in America! Thank you for creating this.
Glad you discovered the extra sounds! Headphones will unlock a lot of hidden sounds in my videos :) I make some elements very subtle to allow for more depth when listening with headphones vs speakers

I really like this one. I wish I had summers like this in my youth. I have but one quibble, the grass beyond the picnic table to the lake looks like it has a light source shining on it. Not a big deal but now that I've seen it, I can't unsee it.
