    Learn how to do pushups for beginners with this complete pushups tutorial. This pushups for beginners workout will show you how to do a pushup regardless of your fitness level. If you are a beginner it will show you how to do a push up correctly. If you aren’t a total beginner it will show you how to get better at pushups.
    There are 5 variations in this pushups for women video. The first variation in this pushups tutorial is the most beginner pushups exercise, the wall pushups. If those are too easy for you, you can try box pushups on your knees. Once you become more advanced and can do 3 sets of 12 reps of the box pushups you can try another beginner pushups variation, the floor pushups on your knees. If you can already do floor pushups on your knees but can’t quite get to a full pushup on your toes, there are two variations that can help you build strength to learn how to do pushups. The crunching pushup and the stop pushup are great intermediate exercises that help you build the upper body strength needed to do a pushup.
    If you are a beginner first try the wall pushups and then progress your way to the more difficult versions later in this beginners guide to how to do a pushup. If you are looking for the best workout program for beginners, check out our complete Athlean-XX for Women program athleanx.com/b...

    Thank you so much. I'm one of those who cannot do even one push up. I have good cardio-vascular fitness and very strong legs from decades of cycling and am strong for my (advanced) age when it comes to lifting and so on, but push ups? No way. I now have a reason to need greater upper-body strength. Soon it could save my life. So I have to improve. I tried doing wall push ups but they were way too easy. Couldn't understand why, until I saw this video! It showed me I had my feet too close to the wall. Move them out a bit and now I get the burn. Thank-you.

    The way she describes push up form is how I was always taught to do them, I see different instructions from other fitness people but this push up video is so far the best way to do a push up. I'm always trying to gain strength in my upper body and I've been doing a push up challenge and I really want to be able to do a full range of motion push up with being on my knees. I'm gonna start with her tips and keep building strength and eventually I'll get there, thanks!

    • @wegfgqeggg37
      @wegfgqeggg37 5 ปีที่แล้ว +27

      The closer your elbows are to your body the better, hand placement should be shoulder width. When you go down you should break the plane (your elbows should be 90 degrees or less). That’s proper push-up form. A lot of people who are unfit can’t achieve this from the get go (lack of strength and full range of motion) that’s fine, just keep practicing on your knees until you achieve proper form. Push ups are great exercises but it’s so easy to fuck up. It’s a FULL body exercise, don’t just utilize your shoulder and triceps, use most your upper body along with them (lats, chest and core) to achieve maximum gain per rep.

    • @deluluma
      @deluluma 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      lay on your stomach and place your hands under your shoulders comfortably. have your fingers spread and try your best to keep your elbows in. no one tells you but try not to breathe in or out on the bottom. if you can’t push up on your toes, drop to your knees at the bottom and push up. but try to go down slow and controlled on your toes. it builds your strength a lot faster than knee push-ups. when you go down, make sure your stomach, glutes and thighs are tight. sometimes tightening your belly more as you push up can help you get back up. as for breathing i breathe towards the top. i started not being able to do any push-ups and now i can do 4 sets of 10 in 5 minutes. good luck

    I just got a gym membership and I've been mostly doing swimming because of my arthritis, but I kind of just had this ephinany (especially while watching your video) that I feel like I'm meant to do something else that I didn't think I would help up doing. I don't know how much you guys actually read or reply to these comments, but I've been watching a lot of the other girls work out on the big machines and that's not exactly what I want to do. I think my path is overcome my autoimmune disease and mental illness through fitness and martial arts. I use to be a dance instructor for awhile when I was teaching in China and it was a lot of fun, I miss it for sure, but not something I want to be paid to do. I don't know, this video really inspired me, especially as a female, so thank you, a lot. I'm going to put this in my workout routine! I do have a lot of pain in my wrists, but I also looked up some workouts for people have arthritis. I do a lot of swimming and steam room right now in my routine, but I am super excited to stay motivated and get my body and my life exactly where I want it to be and for me it's starting with fitness to help strengthen my body, mind and just general inner self things. I'm going to check out more of your videos and websites for sure!

    The last one is totally necessary for progressing to a regular push-up, but not everyone can get there right away without the strength in muscle groups and motions, which is great you showed this! I love it! It’s such a waste when I see people doing push-ups without the proper form. They’re wasting time and not getting the maximum motions and effects without going all the way up, all the way down, and keeping core tight. And right placement of the hands of course.

      @@chasingstars5614 Don't think of accessories like it's a tangible object (like a bracelet). Instead think of working out all the muscles in the chest and in different directions. You do NOT need to know the names of all the muscles - I sure don't nor do I care to learn it all.
      What I do know, however, is that the body moves in various directions and you doing constant push-ups is just ONE direction. That's a PUSH. And you're doing it over and over gain with the same movement .. a push up.
      THIS CAN CAUSE INJURIES in the long run. Why? You're over relying on just one move, the push up, to build your chest. To develop your chest most effectively and to limit injury from overuse .. your chest needs OTHER movements to help develop strength.
      I combine push / pulling movement combinations regularly into my workouts. This activates other chest muscles as every exercise will activate certain muscles / tendons more than others.
      That is what I mean by accessory moves. The pushup can't be the ONLYH exercise you use to build an upper chest. You need to trigger / activate other chest muscles. See my point?
      Too many people get hooked on "I can do a bunch of push ups (usually with poor form and in the case of lots of women .. with their arms WAAYY apart .. making the push up MUCH easier ...) and that will build my chest.
      Hope that helps explain my comment.
      BTW .. it is way harder for women to build the upper body. I've been pretty successful for a 53 year old amateur bu it's taken YEARS. However, the one thing I keep in mind is that I need push / pull movements and it's worked beautifully for me.
      I've had people think I'm a trainer or that I've been trained. Nope. I just read a lot on fitness and have incorporated what I've read about over the last 9 years into my workout.

    Thank you sincerely for this easy step by step explanation. I have always been pretty fit and active. But I have never had to do any pushups for any of my sport types. So when my husband, an army sergeant, did some exercises with me - he was shocked to find that I couldn't do a perfect set. And no wonder - no wonder ever properly explained it to me. Its always just been: "Go! Do 10 pushups." So thank you very much for explaining this the way you did.

    My trainer always say that it is strange because I have a lot of force in my arms...so I definitely
    gonna try this way..and I will start with the wall...looks to me a great way to learn and I will look into

    thank you very much for your video. very useful step by step tips. Although I have a question I'd like to ask you. I used to do very well push ups thanks to my upper body strength, however I did BA last year, and I scare to go really deep down to the floor and back up in my push ups. I really would like to know if it's possible to get back the good skill and do proper push ups after BA operation?
