I will never, ever, ever forget how awesome this show was. 2am, out of my mind, having the time of my life.
When I saw them, I thought it was 230am. It was 9 when they got off stage lol
Same dude
Wish so hard they would tour again, cant die without seeing this live
Every time I hear this music, I have this complex feeling. It's like excitement with sadness/bitterness.
nostalgia?
That's Ratatat my friend.
For me , its putting on my ray bans and getting in my Audi r8 while rolling out of my drive way, trying to get to downtown to meet up with my girlfriend for coffee
Been listening to these guys for so long, probably since I was like 13-14, 24 now 🤘🏻
They just don’t get old, miraculous
@@william_02 absolutely, literally just played one of their tracks a minute ago
best melodic neo-classical guitarist in the modern era
These are great guitar lines, but not classical.
This video is proof of how live music is the best medicine on the planet for making someone feel amazing about yourself
MDMA*
Jacob Cohen That certainly helps but not every time XD
MorningView4 yes!

They're surprisingly good live!
+snoutout why surprinsingly? they always kill it. live and on their albums
@@extremerunner Because some people haven't listened to a live video of Ratatat yet? They can't know they always do great performances live until they've seen them live.
Much different than what I pictured a live performance from this group would be. A pleasant surprise!
i come back to this one so many times, i really never expected them to be such a tight live act, but they are. I wonder what a live drummer would do with this song though as well.
This guy is all about melody which is what makes them so great.
Greatest groups ever. Reminds me of my high school days
Que pinchi belleza! Pasado de reata Ratatat! Que les falte lana para un reencuentro!!
now I know why I like the music I like. This was such a huge influence on me.
sure i was born the year this song came out but i love it
I can smell the weed in the air, this is amazing.
that was my first of 3 years in a row...next year they go...i go
Grazie per la vostra ratatat nuova musica. Vieni in Italia!
Give me the chills
A monster band!
Same here, this looks like a blasty blast! Didn't expect this at all.
Yes, I was there.
Who knew Blake from Workaholics was in Ratatat daammnnn
Alexander Javan ahah my thoughts exactly
+Alexander Javan lol well if anyone from that show was going to be in a band like this it would be him
It’s like amazing, it’s like beetles
Anybody that says you can't dance to this music is insane.
... Or they simply need to learn to feel it more
bobbing your head is dancing
Tripear escuchando esto uffff...
3:59 of script! I love it. It's like Ronald Jones of old in Flaming LIps of yesteryear!
I was there
Esta linda la letra de esta canción
Thumb up for those who discovered this great group thanks to Jango...
DOPE!!!!
dope
You all know the words
Me and my girlfriend were there, ate a weed brownie, fell asleep near a tree, woke up and Ratatat was playing on stage, it was 98 degrees, Nick Lachey was there, that last part was made up.
excellent;)
@ DopeWhales, you shit the bed on that one. They were awesome and the stage show was mighty trippy.
not a phone in sight, just people living in the moment
Ok Boomer
2:41 But im not sure what your issue with phones is.
Damm all faces are high
this band is fire, it's a fucking bomb
REALLY GOOD LIVE SESSION!!!!
I was about to suggest that I wished the guitarist shredded. But that wouldnt be ratatat
Bass player looks like the guy who played Ralph Cox in Miracle lolol
1:21 (girl in the middle)
smoked too much weed, possibly her first time...has no clue where she is
kk
... Or she knew exactly where she was and was blissing out to a slower groove
So Fkn Dope!
What does "loud pipes" mean what pipes? (Not native english speaker)
Loud is the opposite of quiet and pipes has a variety of meanings, the most common meaning is something you smoke out of (smoking a pipe) but it’s also used in a variety of musical instruments to amplify and distort sound
We also say we have loud pipes if our motorcycle exhaust is loud.

I wish the video would stop panning to the awkward rave kids. If I wanted to see that I'd go to bonaroo
uhm...bring them back for next year
I'm white and the first time they showed a closeup of the front row I was like "what beat are these white people dancing too?" There's some Elaine Benes shit going on in this crowd.
They're probably dancing to drugs lol
Ehhh it's a music festival in Tennessee, whatch'a expect
Ahahaha love the Elaine Benes reference!
ha thats racist
Wish I was there on drugs
Stoned hipsters everywhere
I AM BOXXY YOU SEE.........Ya, I'm going to be that person.
absolutely nice music, but absolutely not dancable^^
At least you got to move to it
Couldn't disagree more, haha. Not all rhythms are easy, but they can all be danced to.
Anything can be danced to, it's just hard to dance in a typical modern pop/hip hop way to this kind of music. I would suggest wildly masturbating followed by karate movements. That would probably work well with the music.
Just came across this four-year-old reply. I hope since then you've listened to Ratat's repro of Party and Bullshit. It's a sick track to drop at any party to start ppl movin
Are you kidding? It's TOTALLY DANCEABLE!
It feels empty without Dan vocals, tbh, but maybe that's just me.
Yeah, it just doesn't feel the same. Dan makes everything better
no idea what youre talking about

thats a weird way of doing bar chords
Why doesnt it have lyrics?? So much potential :(
It's what they call, instrumental music.
It depends on them if they are good at singing and if they really wanted lyrics in it.
This song doesn't need lyrics!

stop take electric guitar for accoustic playing...
>:O
Prove it.
Let's see if you think that you can play a electronica-meets-rock music with a acoustic guitar.
playing to a backing tape. get a band.
They've worked with one of the best rappers to make a revolutionary song for pop and rap. Get a life.
You guys.... Um, what are you talking about? This is terrible...seriously. Just going to show you can sell the public anything
PJSnodgrass I can't stand people that think they can judge music. How can you say what's bad and what's good? You could at least explain why you think this is terrible. But with that comment you just show how ignorant you are. And please just say that you don't like this music, not that it's terrible.
It is simply naive and maybe a little bit absurd to think (let alone say) that music can't be judged. And ironically, sorry to point this out, you are judging me ("I can't stand people...") for judging music which leads us to the question of what is more important, music or people? Just saying, but come on, really? You think this stuff could compare to something like Maria Callas or Steve Vai or Al Dimeola or Zakir Hussain, or Nils Petter Molvaer in the name of not judging music? Insane. Which, by the way, 'not judging' anything is one of the trendy fallacies of our day and age. Of course you can and should judge the quality of what you are exposed to. Just cause it speaks to me doesn't make it "good" - and most the time for this stuff the listeners require drugs to believe that it does speak to them. A couple of forgettable twenty year old kids making a show of themselves tweedling on some guitars playing a couple of chords with heavy distortion? Get back to me in 10 years and see if you still feel the same way. If you do, then a little maturing is in order. It has been said, jazz musicians play 400 chords to 40 people while rock musicians play 4 chords to 4000 people. I do like your name though. Dr. Seuss is 5 star.
Go ask a professor of music/guitar performance what he/she thinks of this if I'm too ignorant for your tastes
PJSnodgrass Electronic music is not necessarily about chords. It's just another way to express music with experimental sounds. The point of electronic music is to bring new atmospheres and Ratatat is a band that has talent in making a unique vibe in what they have to offer music-wise.
I'm saying this a drummer who had been 5 years in a jazz school.
I understand your frustration in today's music but I don't think I need to tell you that music is art before all, and to understand art, you need to (at least try) to understand the artist. I don't think you've tried to get anything of what Ratatat made.
I love musicians such as Marcus Miller or Buddy Rich to name the classics for their unique talent with instruments and music theory but I also love electronic producers for their need to always surprise with never-heard-before sounds.
Spiderdridri I love Marcus Miller! And I'm a drummer too!
Ratatat creates fairly simple music but does that mean it's bad? Not at all. I absolutely adore the groovy bass lines. The groove in some of ratatat's songs is very inspiring and I love to jam to their songs.
+PJSnodgrass If you want to give them a try listen to their album "Classics". It's the grooviest I'd say and soundwise the best.
