Aloy’s red hair blends into the red flower/leaves of the murder-bushes. Consider going into: Settings > General and turning ‘Pickup Animations’ to OFF. This is a huge QoL improvement meaning that Aloy doesn’t stop to pick up flowers and herbs, you can be running and tap E (or triangle for console) to harvest/collect things on the run, without killing her momentum. Don't cut yourself short. You are doing great. Really like your honest reactions to the game. That is what is enjoyable about watching you play. Just like Aloy, you don't have to be "perfect". The story line will take you a lot of places you can't even comprehend at this point Looking forward to seeing your thoughts on this as they develop. This was just the opening/training segment. Teersa is one of my favourite early characters, not just for her fair treatment of both Rost and Aloy, but the way she "translates" what the security door in the mountain says so it makes sense for herself and the rest of the tribe.
Continuing with the game's symbolism: Aloy told Rost that she would come and talk to him, and he would listen and remain silent in response. Well, that's what happened... The grave remains silent.
Hi Liera - I was overwhelmed by remembering my first playthrough when I saw your video. I guess the best in this game is not only the fantastic story but also in getting answers to more and more complex questions. Have fun and enjoy. 💝 Before you leave the embrace, just some small hints without spoiler. You can see Rost's grave on the map and visit it (talk to it). Look for your pouches. You can without danger find all the animal skins and bones there for all the upgrades. Don't take arrows (except for fish). Just mark them in the focus and sprint after them - being close hit them with the spear (keeps ammo). Most of this is true for other pouches later in game for other weapons (except Frozen Wilds). Begin around the house of Karst. There is also a small lake with two fishing piers (take the one closer to the gate). You can easy shoot from above. Just change the area when empty and you can return after some time. Sometimes you can just turn around your head and see more animals that spawned. The scrapper valley can be used for coil farming ( at least one or two blue ones, sometimes purple). There are 4 scrappers at the end and two scrapper piles (with those coils). But take care - try to take a shooting position from above where they cannot reach you. Later you will get long distance arrows which even work when you just see the yellow question mark but nothing with your focus. But careful, each obstacle in between stops the shot. If you're clever the open world is less dangerous. It's just a part of the missions which are more difficult. Be prepared^^ prevail and survive - what else matters^^ ps.: answers to Rost's story are given very late in the game. I missed it in my 1st playthrough (not taking the dialog option). Basically it happens after a mission which brings you back to the sacred land. #EDIT: unfortunatelly it's not only the missing dialogue option for Rost's story but missing the whole dialogue because Teersa is not marked for dialogues at that moment - if I remember correctly... last hint for the pouches: some of them need rat skins and bones. My spot for these is the metal world in the embrace - where Aloy found the focus. There are 4-5 in number at both ends, cannot run away, no distracting enemies. When you run back they have usually respawned.
9:30 Kill it with fire! You have to fill up the elemental indicator for it to take effect :) 1:38:48 Some bows allow relatively rapid fire, don't be afraid to use it! And it goes without saying, check its weaknesses using the focus.
You are doing great. I wish that I had recorded my first playthrough so you could see how much I floundered my way through it. Looking forward to your next video.
Its a real shame. Vala and, yeah, even Bast (he would have come around eventually) would have been her most staunch allies and partners. Add in Rost, It was a real gut punch.
When I first played this back in 2017, with the way the beginning was going, I was almost certain that Bast would eventually be "on our team" and soften towards us, maybe even being a romantic interest. I was dead wrong. LOL
You are doing a fine job, here at the beginning. And though you were not afforded the opportunity to scan the Corruptor from a distance, before the battle, it is always a good idea. This game has one of the most thorough databases available in a game. Getting pre encounter scans, paying close attention to the Machine Catalogue entries, their various component functions, and weapon weaknesses. Adjusting weaponry and tactics accordingly, will certainly make you more than a match, for any machine encounter, and sets you free to play the way you want. Enjoy this fantastic game. Many dislike the story aspect, wanting more action, but it is possible to embrace both, and have a wonderful experience.
That Sharpshot bow would have come in real handy during the Proving! Also, it is interesting to hear you speak aloud all your questions because I know they will all be answered within the story. I hope no-one answers them in the comments but be assured this game does a great job of making you realize how logical and complete it is in its story telling if you make a point to read lore and search for clues.
@@LieraPlays the sharpshot bow is your most powerful bow with a very slow draw speed. You will receive draw speed coils from killing machines to counteract this mechanic. You might be able to buy the draw speed coils from merchants, but not 100% sure if you can. The sharpshot bows are my favorite in the series. I recommend every 20 to 25 meters you activate your focus to see what is around to collect or kill. 😊 Thank you for sharing your play through. 😉🤘🏻
A quick hint for you. EVERY trader has a “Free Sample Box” for you, remember to take them and open the box for goodies. At the start of the game you can also go to a trader for a load of extra free boxes, these are items that came with the DLC and Deluxe Edition of the original release of this game. They’re all included for free in the remaster, I promise that you’ll smile when you open these boxes.
@@Chriswallace0405It's the game's way of giving you the loot without completely overwhelming your resource pouch. You have a limited inventory slot, especially at the start of the game. It wouldn't have helped if every side quest you completed they would put wood and ammo in your limited pouch.
Don't worry about how graceful, or not, your first battle against a corrupter was. We have all been there. Your fight was very similar to my own the first time I played. You did very well. One thing you could do in the future, something I struggle with but others do with ease, is to set tripwire traps. Also, when the machines are paralyzed by electricity, you can run in and get one, sometimes even two critical spear hits before they recover. The best stragedy for paralyzed machines, assuming you are not fighting multiple maches at once, which most time you will, is to hit them with shock ammo/tripwires and then run in for spear hits. Do not try for 3 or more hits or the machine will recover and you will be a point blank target.
Also possible in the vein: use the focus to find their path - leave explosive traps under them - nap in the bushes nearby until the machine is mostly or totally dead. But that takes a long time - usually a tactic I only use when I need to take down a machine way above my current "pay grade' :D
Let me give you some gameplay tips, no spoiler of course. :) 1. The red potions are Health potions. Your pouch capacity is limited (but you can craft it bigger) so you can carry only some of those potions. If you have low health but you fight against human enemies then it's okay to drink some because you probably can loot others from crates or human enemies. And you'd better to farm resources for the Carry Capacity crafting (too), it will also give your opportunity to get familiar with the controls. 2. The Yellow Potion boosts your health so if you suspect there's a fight ahead, it's 3. Sell everything you need at Merchants. I have ~1.2 M shards in this game, much more than I can spend. 4. Machine Lenses and Machine Hearts are valuable but also you need some of them for buying Outfits or Weapons. Lenses for outfits, Machine Hearts for weapons. But don't hoard them, you can earn much much more money by selling them than the money you need for buying one or two when you actually need one for buying something. There's 1 special merchant in Meridian where you can buy (not just sell) Machine Lenses and Machine Hearts. 5. Use your Focus frequently. Datapoints are everywhere in the world, and they are there for a reason. Plus you can see through walls with your Focus. Also there are Box icons on the Compass indicating Datapoints and Loot Crates so you can quickly check it even without your Focus if there's something valuable nearby to loot. 6. Go for the Double Arrows and then Triple Arrows Skill. It'll 2x and 3x the damage you deliver. Handling mods on weapons accelerates how fast Aloy can insert additional bows into her bow. 7. Scan machines once, and search for weakpoints. After you scanned a machine the first time, you can find its data in the Notebook. That's very-very helpful! The fight against machine in this game gets truly enjoying if you learn and exploit the machines' weakpoints. 8. Don't hoard to many Ridge Wood, ~300-500 is far enough. It's cheap at merchants when your stock runs low. Btw. if you turn off the Pickup Animation, your looting (of plants, ridgewood, and canisters) gets truly fast. It's even useful during fights, a sort of a cheat.
It's good to scan machines for weak spots. Some arer exposed like weapons, but some machines have their vital weak spots concealed and need to reach a state before exposing them, state like get too hot, freeze, electrified, etc. It requires several multiple impacts to reach a state. Tie machines to the ground, tear some parts also may help to weaken the machine.
Tip: Only use elemental projectiles for triggering status effects (fill the round indicator over the health bar to trigger), or applying status effects directly by hitting the corresponding component (use focus to highlight them). For damage, switch to normal arrows.
Oh this is but the beginning, you'll be fine and get use to both the focus and the fighting - it's a very sweet ride full of good fights and extensive lore. Lots of secrets to uncover.
a little advice. for example when using fire arrows, keep firing till the flame icon is full, youll see a white ring around it counting down but doing auto damage more than single arrows, so u have time
Wow! Great fight against the ‘demon’! 💪🏻 great playthrough so far. Enjoy the game, it keeps getting better and better. And: yóu will keep getting better and better at fighting machines. 😌🙂↕️
You did Great for a first time Player. I like your overall playstyle just like me, it causious and you search any nook to be sure not to miss anything. 😂I did too. And yes as you said.. Gotta remember to try😅 not to panic in fights and scan for those weakspots. Looking forward to next vid. 💪
You're doing great! I didn't get the corrupter on my first go, so don't worry. Always remember you can scan quickly then enter the menu to read about the machines in the catalogue without them trying to kill you at the same time haha
Sometimes there are extra dialogues with other characters outside of the main quest. Look out for those extra dialogues. For example before the Proving you could have talked with the Sun-Priest and Teersa before or after talking with Olin. There are actually nice and story driven dialogues with lore. Or even after finishing some missions you can try talking with characters again, sometimes there are extra dialogues open up.
Please try and keep the advice ( good, in this case ) gerenal, and not mention specifics as per the pinned notice as to what is, or is not, considered a replay spoiler.

Great gameplay ❤ 😃 Please, play the whole game, I’m sure you’ll love it ❤ Tips: Always scan everything, your focus can show information about both machines and humans. Go to configurations and enable ‘Aloy automatic run’ 🏃 it’s going to help a lot 😁 Comment: I’ve played using mouse/keyboard and controller 🎮 In my case, it was more comfortable to use the controller. Feedback: I just found your channel and I’m enjoying your content a lot 😃👍🏽✌️ 0:01
Enjoyed your totally honest reactions to the game, I am playing the remaster on PS5, which is my 3rd playthrough so nice to see the first reactions again. Looking forward to your next instalment.
Wow! I just took the time to watch your new video. I love to see your emotions, in my opinion they show how good this game is, and I also enjoyed the big question marks in your face because of the unexpected twists. 😊 I felt the same way when I played it for the first time, it was really hard to take a break. And I think your battle against that new machine went well. You didn't have very much of those medicinal berries and didn't find time to heal during the fight, but you survived, so everything is okay. You wondered if Aloy can read, do you want an answer, or would it be a spoiler? I don't know it exactly, but I have an opinion about that question. 😉 So enjoy the game, I'm looking forward to the next episode.
Rost could have lived with the other tribes. Nora believe they need to stay in the sacred lands near the mountain. Rost thinks the other tribes have turned away from allmother. Much later in the game you can ask Teersa why he was an outcast. It's worth asking her
Notice how many non-lethal attacks Rost made, hitting that guy with the butt of his spear, instead of the point, at least twice. He was too reluctant to kill.
I like how much you enjoy this game especially the story🥳 I have some tips for you if you don't mind 😅 First just be a bit brave against machines, scan them with focus to see their weeknes and shoot off components (like fire for sawthoots) You do elemental build-up above them after that just normal arrows Use the concentration when aiming, helps a lot and it's a main mechanic of the gameplay, or you can jump to use it as well but it's harder You can sprint on three trunks, just aim the middle (if makes sense 😂😉❤️) Scan a lot, you can find really interesting things if you like the story (for more knowledge of the game's world) Oh and more important, you can craft arrows on the weapon wheel (idk which button on pc😅) and ammunition and choose weapons I like you discovered the lure call tehnic 🤣😁👍👍 And don't rush with weapons, will be more interesting and powerful ones later in other areas And the most important, (hope it's not spoiler) you get unlimited fast travel later as you progress the story, you just need to buy it from a merchant 👍 Btw sorry for the long comment 😂😅 I have 173 hours in the original zero dawn, 41 in this remaster, and 263 hours in the sequel Forbidden West Hope this help a bit Just wanted to help because I enjoyed watching your enthusiasm A very cool game btw, and it just gets better and better Oh and for real I'm sorry if this is really long to read 😅 Keep up the good videos 👍👍
The first thing you should do when encountering a new type of machine is to scan it and read its strengths and weaknesses. Defeating the corruptor and corrupted striders would have been easier if you did that.
Recently started playing it for the first time as well, really enjoying watching your playthroughs! Also curious about the music that plays at the end 👀
I really loved playing Zero Dawn. The build up of the storyline is so good and keeps leaving you with questions till the end. Now I've almost completed the second game and the story line keeps becoming crazier and crazier. I'm really curious what'll come in the 3rd game, when it comes out! But first I need to complete Burning Shores DLC and then (maybe) the lego game.
Your enthusiasm for the game is infectious. This is going to be a fun playthrough. Btw if you tire of looting sticks and berries you can turn on auto loot fpr those things in the settings.
Oh, by the way, Rost! You can return to his grave anytime, and Aloy's monologues will respect the story progression. They are beautiful thoughts, the writers gave their whole heart into it. 😏 Bookmark some videos, interviews with the creator, strictly after you finish the game: • Making of: th-cam.com/video/h9tLcD1r-6w/w-d-xo.html • Writing Horizon Zero Dawn, the John Gonzales interview: th-cam.com/video/a4P7uaaoRcM/w-d-xo.html
A Nora can leave the sacred land but upon returning they will be cast out. An already shunned Nora has nothing to lose(if they are cast out for life). They won't kill them if they return to the Sacred land. But the Nora generally don't want to leave because of their beliefs and all that.
Regarding the could Nora Outcasts go else where, live amongst other tribes question? It's worth noting Erend said even Nora "Exiles" are welcome. He didn't say "Outcasts," which implies there's a difference between Outcast & Exile.. Unless it's just a different word choice. Lol.. 🤔
that's exactly it. Outcasts can become part of the tribe again (if they're not outcast for life) but can still live within Nora lands. Exiles are people (Outcasts or non Outcasts) that have defied the rule that says Nora are not allowed to leave the sacret lands. Once exiled they are never allowed to return to the sacret land.

Her game, her play style? And which guys? If you meant the cultist *leaders* hunting for her in the grass, that's advanced "leader take down" further up the skill tree.
So long as you don't want to move quickly, run, or dodge - those last two turn it off automatically. Makes keeping it on all the time in close combat impractical.

At the start of the game you can also go to a trader for a load of extra free boxes, these are items that came with the DLC and Deluxe Edition of the original release of this game. They’re all included for free in the remaster, I promise that you’ll smile when you open these boxes.
What a gay game mechanic.. fuckin loot boxes 😂
2. The Yellow Potion boosts your health so if you suspect there's a fight ahead, it's
Great episode! I know I said this on video 1, but I am so happy you're playing this game. :)
a little advice. for example when using fire arrows, keep firing till the flame icon is full, youll see a white ring around it counting down but doing auto damage more than single arrows, so u have time
And so begins the journey.
the blue coloring is so beautiful. reminds me of my moms maxfield parrish paintings
This is a great game, can't wait a it to see you play forbidden west !
The sharpshot is recommended imo, very good for sniping.
I like how you play it and your honest reactions. Just keep it up, it'll be awesome and beautiful, then the sequel which elevates the story and the game's world onto a new level. 😊 🤘🏼
Well you proved yourself, now we begin.
I felt the same way when I played it for the first time, it was really hard to take a break.
So enjoy the game, I'm looking forward to the next episode.
I like how much you enjoy this game especially the story🥳
I have some tips for you if you don't mind 😅
First just be a bit brave against machines, scan them with focus to see their weeknes and shoot off components (like fire for sawthoots)
You do elemental build-up above them after that just normal arrows
Use the concentration when aiming, helps a lot and it's a main mechanic of the gameplay, or you can jump to use it as well but it's harder
You can sprint on three trunks, just aim the middle
(if makes sense 😂😉❤️)
Scan a lot, you can find really interesting things if you like the story
(for more knowledge of the game's world)
Oh and more important, you can craft arrows on the weapon wheel (idk which button on pc😅) and ammunition and choose weapons
I like you discovered the lure call tehnic 🤣😁👍👍
And don't rush with weapons, will be more interesting and powerful ones later in other areas
And the most important, (hope it's not spoiler) you get unlimited fast travel later as you progress the story, you just need to buy it from a merchant 👍
Btw sorry for the long comment
😂😅
I have 173 hours in the original zero dawn, 41 in this remaster, and 263 hours in the sequel Forbidden West
Hope this help a bit
Just wanted to help because I enjoyed watching your enthusiasm
A very cool game btw, and it just gets better and better
Oh and for real I'm sorry if this is really long to read 😅
Keep up the good videos 👍👍
Thank you!
The first thing you should do when encountering a new type of machine is to scan it and read its strengths and weaknesses. Defeating the corruptor and corrupted striders would have been easier if you did that.
I did enjoy the video. a lot. Is it time yet for the next episode? ;)
48:32 I love how sassy Aloy can be 😆
Recently started playing it for the first time as well, really enjoying watching your playthroughs! Also curious about the music that plays at the end 👀
First gut punch of many in this series. The number of tears I've shed - happy and sad - is insane.
Billy Idol - Eyes without a face.LG
I really loved playing Zero Dawn. The build up of the storyline is so good and keeps leaving you with questions till the end. Now I've almost completed the second game and the story line keeps becoming crazier and crazier. I'm really curious what'll come in the 3rd game, when it comes out! But first I need to complete Burning Shores DLC and then (maybe) the lego game.
Good game 👍👍
Aloy learnt to read as a kid through the focus.
Your enthusiasm for the game is infectious. This is going to be a fun playthrough.
Btw if you tire of looting sticks and berries you can turn on auto loot fpr those things in the settings.
Basically, they made Aloy a SPECTRE.
Haha, that's actually pretty spot on.
Oh, by the way, Rost! You can return to his grave anytime, and Aloy's monologues will respect the story progression. They are beautiful thoughts, the writers gave their whole heart into it. 😏
Bookmark some videos, interviews with the creator, strictly after you finish the game:

A shunned Nora won't just leave because they're not allowed to leave the sacred land.
A Nora can leave the sacred land but upon returning they will be cast out. An already shunned Nora has nothing to lose(if they are cast out for life). They won't kill them if they return to the Sacred land. But the Nora generally don't want to leave because of their beliefs and all that.
Hold on to the visions in your eyes. LG
This is what I feel is the end of the tutorial. Although like others have said I still think there's lots to see
Happy Thanksgiving to you 🍷🍷🍷🍷
Happy Thanksgiving!
@LieraPlays same to you too

Regarding the could Nora Outcasts go else where, live amongst other tribes question? It's worth noting Erend said even Nora "Exiles" are welcome. He didn't say "Outcasts," which implies there's a difference between Outcast & Exile.. Unless it's just a different word choice. Lol.. 🤔
They're different - remember Aloy says "I've been an Outcast all my life, why not an Exhile as well?"
Maybe you become an exile once you leave their land? Whether it's voluntary or not.
that's exactly it.
Omggg I’ve been waiting for so long !!
First time I played it was on a harder difficulty and I had a really rough time with that fight.
you will find out what happened to Rost not going spoil the where when and how i will say this now is when the real game begins
Hass ist so einfach. Die Liebe so viel schwerer und ein auch endloser Kampf aber es lohnt sich so viel mehr. Dafür zu kämpfen, kostet alles aber ............................ man schläft besser, ha! LG
Why aren't you stealthing those guys? If you don't have silent take down, you should get it.
Her game, her play style? And which guys? If you meant the cultist *leaders* hunting for her in the grass, that's advanced "leader take down" further up the skill tree.
I think Rost's plan was for suicide😢
not sure about others, but it seems your sound mix is a bit quiet for your voice
I think you're right. It sounded alright to me when editing with headphones, but listening back with one earbud in it was a bit on the quiet side.
It was fine for me, so if you do make a change, don't go too extreme :-)
Hello 👋👋
use the focus bro lol it shows you weak points omg!! dont fight without it on you dont have to turn it off at all
So long as you don't want to move quickly, run, or dodge - those last two turn it off automatically. Makes keeping it on all the time in close combat impractical.
You look just like the main character
Checked out the first EP? She did the Aloy cosplay :)

@@Vedexent_I haven't played this game before
Hey, @Liera or @Vedexent_... I just noticed that the playlist has episodes 1 and 2 in the wrong sequence.
Edited: actually, never mind! something went wrong with the way YT was doing it, and i needed to switch back and forth from newest published, and I think that fixed it.
@@LieraPlays whew! You had me googling and fiddling and getting very confused. All I could see was how to change my playlists, not yours. It is fixed now.
Sorry to confuse! It was always sorting normally for me, so I was confused, and when I went in to that one it was still showing the right dates but not the right order... so the good ole turn it off and on did the trick :D
And thank you for pointing it out!
