That's the goal! I was listening to and realized that one of his quotes would have easily fit in a civil war textbook. while the second episode was devoid of such quotes episode three here was much more fruitful. @@BodilyFunction
I love the idea that Daniel Tyler stole your credit by insisting it was his own genius of allowing his subordinates flexibility in completing tasks. Meanwhile in your memoirs you'll be writing a scathing retailing of how you had to strong arm him to take the fight to a force half his size and then had to commandeer a third of the army to win the battle.
I do hope he will make an epilogue episode, where he recounts the war in his memoirs and how they clash with some other prominent figures during the war.
There are quite a few TH-camrs playing this right now but your playthrough is easily the best. The getting into character, the editing and the addition of historical insights are really making your series stand head and shoulders above the others. Great stuff man. Your content has come a long way and I'm happy to see you constantly improving your stuff.
Man I’d love a western theatre version of this, maybe have the campaign start days before Shiloh. It would be cool to fight alongside the 20th Ohio and Colonel Force
Man l'd love a western theatre version of this , maybe have the campaign starts days before Shiloh. It would be cool to fight alongside the 20th Ohio and Colonel Force
This is extremely entertaining, the being taken advantage of made me laugh, YES this victory in Charlottesville was totally mine said Brig. Gen. Daniel Tyler. I deserve full credit for everything that happened... feels like someones gunning for ya!
I had the same thing happen with the name. All the characters I created in campaign are available during the game. I think you did a confederate campaign with your name, I think it’s that character. The game didn’t create you, you created you.
“The Battle of Harrisburg was lost by the Union when a brigade, stationed in a critical portion of the line, was delayed as the CO went shopping for a cheap hat.” 😅
Man, I remeber the original video which made me watch this channel. Ultimate general Civil war, he paused in the middle of the game(battle) and started talking about generals and their life stories. Shame he does that much less nowadays. It was exacly that moment which was interesting, educational and tense. I learned so much.
Huzzah! What a great way to enjoy my morning coffee with the latest episode. Don't let those scallywags pilfer your well deserved fame good sir! Your destiny as Union Army Commander awaits!
I think what is happening is kind of built into the game. Basically to motivate players to do everything allowed in game to advance as quickly as possible so they are in complete control of what is going on. If the player just sits back and waits for things to happen then the game is going to treat the war that way. Kind of like the way the war was, if an officer isn't assertively acting as if he is the next rank higher then the only way he gets there is through the superiors death and no other options to replace them with. By that time of course the war is over.
The New Jersey boys were told that there was Pork Roll in that tree line, that is why they were so aggressive. To be honest, knowing the history of the 8th New Jersey their move in the game was pretty on brand for them. Loving the series. Keep it going.
Just when i finished the last 2 videos and i was craving for more of your fantastic content. Hey Chris, you lost your guns on the redeploy. I had the same thing happen to me. I don't I know if it's a bug or what. At 26:29, you can see the 3 guns & 2 guns "abandoned" over by the objective marker. If you order your if you click on your Battery Unit (the "(L)" of course), you can order them to go take one of those abandoned batteries. And then you will have your guns again. :) I had to do this a couple of times in my game so far - so frustrating.
I pretty sure the devs keeps tabs on Chris & others doing vids on their game & they have been open so far to problems with the game & fixing it, so dont worry about that.. in few episodes of these, we might hear about another patch or two. :)

First of all, love your content. Definitely am loving the uniform. Second, you need to get rid of your blind loyalty and physcopathic traits. If not, they will plague you with random events like the one here. Both are Cards to pay prestige for. Third if you give an accidental order during battle or on the campaign map, then you can quickly hover the mouse on the little gold timer that hangs on the screen. Just started learning about pre-20th-century American history over the last couple of months! You have predominantly out of the expansive array of history TH-camrs taught me the most as of yet on these subjects (Combined with other documentaries et books). At this rate and without any doubt, I have the utmost confidence I'll be set to succeed in college after my time in the service concludes. Love your passion for history, it's contagious. As the saying goes, those who don't know history are doomed to repeat it. Thank you
Your reaction to a Confederate officer having your name made me wish I was a game developer. Man I could have fun with that. I would likely make an American Revolution game, and spend too much effort to find the Spiffing Britt's name, make him a rebel, likely Brandon F too, though I feel as an Aglophile American either side in a game would be okay. Then put names like Mel Gibson etc on the British side.
So something that I learned while playing the career mode today is that your created characters still spawn in the game. So if you have a created character of yourself from before, they will still be given command like the historical people. That is probably why you saw a confederate leader with your name.
I just hope you can get a Confederate uniform for the csa version! Also I've been listening to an audiobook on Robert E Lee penned by his son Robert Lee jr! "Letters and recollections of Robert E. Lee" it's really an amazing read and gave me so much insight on the noble character and eccentricity of the General.
You gotta save up 200 prestige, then do the fundraising focus in the HQ. That will get you $500 which you can then spend $200 on to do the focus that gets you 250 prestige. Then repeat once you make BG and get more focus slots.
I'd really like to see you do a Confederate run after. Bad luck with that final event, I think it calculated that stymied prestige gain into what you got from that battle.

There is a bit of an exploit.....when i did my play i made sure i had a politician with both money and prestige at the start. This allowed me to buy railway shares at the start and get a good staff and borrow units....and i took a unit which was on the peninsula which seems to get early contact with the enemy at the game start, borrow more units and rack up more prestige. I ended up waiting for my confirmation to major general and with an independent division with 19k men
Your command should have flags so you know were your at. You fight like Achilles its all for your own renown and your everlasting glory, that's how one becomes a demigod. The cause is nothing.
I really hope for a patch again soon... After three battles I sat around for two years in an army doing nothing at all and unable to influence the army because I didn't have enough prestige... One small battle later, and we're back to sitting around... Not the DLC I was hoping for - not yet anyway... But I really hope they find a way to make it more "alive" for the player in Whiskey and Lemons.
