Some ppl buy homes and will rent to section 8 because it's guaranteed money from the government, with a low amount paid directly from the tenant. Perhaps they agreed to a lease being up and then selling the home. When you own property with someone ,it's not cut and dry on getting rid of it. You both have to agree to sell or buy the other person out. Sounds like perhaps the ex fiance did something that they couldn't work through like cheating and she decided to walk away. They are just legally still tied together because of the rental property.
