Back in the 70s my cousin had one. We raced a 340 duster repeatedly and it was always a draw. Great night!

Guys in my teens My first car was a 1973 Maverick, 6 banger with 3 on the tree, it sure didn`t look like this, man brings back memories, this thing is stunning, you just don`t see these, then I bought a 1972 Maverick grabber, the baby blue with the stripes, 302 auto, I almost forgot about them cars till I seen this, this is a rare find, I haven`t seen a Comet in 40 years, love the cars guys.

Yeah Man, I've never seen one of those before. It's really cool. The sound really hammers through the exhaust!

We read a road test in a vintage SSDI magazine on one of these, back in the day. It was a stock 302. Just for fun, they unbolted the front stabilizer bar and clipped the rear springs. From a standing start, it would pull the front wheels off the ground, no sh1t.

Bought one of those brand new in '74. 302 3 speed on the floor all factory. The only thing I did was put a performance exhaust on it. Last year of the no cat cars. I traded it later on. Was always sorry I did; Nice GT!

If you think black and silver looks good. (And it does). You should have seen the Grabber Blue. Beautiful color combination. Had a great friend that had one. It had a built 302 3 speed. He out ran a few of the big block boys. Nothing like American muscle!

Try putting headers on it with that 3 speed. Maybe things have changed, but in 1986 it was impossible.

If you own a Maverick then you know about the comet . I had a grabber maverick orange and white with bucket seats (302) I pick it over the Comet GT . It was the same car the Comet was made by Mercury / Maverick by Ford .

Then in late 70 80 change the name to Ford maverick smaller body with 4 cylinder due to the gas shortage between Iran opec and united states why they was making compact cars big auto companies in those years worst history in the automobiles industry

@@davidevans474 yes $100 thousands dollars for a truck and then they going on strike again in 2018 even both republicans president Bush bailed the big 3 auto industry dozen times already including the great depression and took world war 2 to bail out America and now republicans government raises the debt ceiling raising cost of living and taxes not minimum wage no taxes and get themselves a pay raise paid no taxes and no health insurance and can't solve the crisis in America but impeachment and fighting each other and forgot we the people is the government and when I look at these classics cars I think about the 1950d years after Korea war everything was cheap and hamburgers were $.10 cent Hershey candy bar was a nickel today $2.75 plus tax why I love classic cars
