Simply incredible that we had a man of this standing running the show for as long as we did, all the while not appreciating it until we had lost him. the statesmen/women of today are pale, pale comparisons.

I've got tears and am giving a standing ovation in my study!! We have missed him or politics like his, you know the vision and story/theme thing!!
Unfortunately some of the blame must fall on to Keating. He really should have sat in Parliament for another term after his loss and argued hard against the Howard Government.

The magnitude of Keating's contribution to Australia is being increasingly recognised and appreciated, but will it ever be emulated ?

And our current Prime Minister has just made an elderly Greco-German prince consort of a highly elitist and privileged English family a knight of Australia! Oh how far Australian politics has fallen. And we must shoulder the blame.
