Hey Tom Flores and Mike Ditka are teh onlyl 2 coaches in history to win a championship (AFL Championship) and Superbowl as a player, an assistant coach, and as a head coach. Flores, however, won 2 Superbowls as a head coach. But is not in the HOF. ---- Plunkett won 2 SB's and was MVP in one of them. And is only QB in history to win a SB for 2 different cities. First Wild Card SB winner in history (They had already lost 3 games before he got to start. Went 9-2 after starting). First minority QB to win a SB. One of only 2 QB's to win Heisman trophy and SB MVP. For a while was the only eligible QB to win 2 SB's to not be in HOF. -- Both Flores and Plunkett did a lot for the Raiders and Mexicanos, as you said. Both of which the NFL obviously does not care much about.

I am now 69 yrs old and an old die-hard Raider fan! Today am watching the NFL 2022 Season Divisional Playoffs. I must say that The Game has changed sigificantly i.e. The Defense has been De-masculinized - the QB's are protected as Kicker's as The Owners have conspired to make it all where More points are easily scored (As the 'Fan's like scoring!) To watch two games successively the TV commercials are sooo 'numbing' as these Corporate Sponsors are TELLING their audiences just how Stupid they think we are- mere consumers!!
All in all I would go back in time to the 1980's any time compared to the USA as is today!
    Go Raiders!

It annoys me when IDIOTS say: we’ll the players are much bigger, stronger & faster today! Well, of course, they are, because they DO get bigger, stronger faster every new generation! So it’s ALL RELATIVE! The players playing in the 70s were bigger, stronger & faster than the players from the 60s. Players from the ’90s were all bigger, stronger & faster than players in the 80s. Players in the early 21st century (2000-2010) the players were bigger, stronger & faster than the players from the 90s! Players now are bigger, stronger & faster than players from the mid-2000s (2000-2010) So when someone says that? It’s foolish because it’s ALL relative, all of it! In 2030-2040 the players will be bigger, stronger & faster! So it doesn't matter what year, decade, century a player played Professional American 🏈 Football! Because they were the biggest, strongest 💪 and fastest football Athletes in their respective generations! Ps. I LOVE watching these “Old School” games! These boys playing in this video right now are plenty big, strong 💪 & fast! But unlike in today's game! They could light-up QB (within reason) they'd throw a Ruff if it was completely blatant. Also, a big part of the game for well over 6 decades, if a Receiver tries to catch the ball across the middle in the flat? Watch out! Because your ass was going to get LITE-UP as soon as you'd touch the ball! QB’s didn't lead a pass, right into an LB or even worse! Lead the pass ahead of their receiver & directly into the front of a Strong Safety, shoulder pads, Lol, that would get the WO, RB or TE? Completely BLOWN-UP! As Deion Sanders always says: “how can a receiver be “defenceless” when they are playing with pads on?!?!?!?

Ya know? The rules back then were pretty fair, not like today; all the rules are in the offensive favor. I don’t see ANY drop off in the offensive’s abilities in all the TH-cam videos I’ve watched, to move the ball & score??? Makes me wonder???

Hey Tom Flores and Mike Ditka are teh onlyl 2 coaches in history to win a championship (AFL Championship) and Superbowl as a player, an assistant coach, and as a head coach. Flores, however, won TWO Superbowls as a head coach. -- Neither Flores nor Plunkett are in HOF......Hmmmmmmm....Wonder why? -- Adios amigos.

Thought this was going to be things about Jim Plunkett. Instead, just clips I have seen many times. If you are going to post things for us long life Raider Fans, please show us something, not just copy, paste and edit things you find. Be original please! I would rather listen to a pod cast that is 20 minutes long from Coach Gruden than watch a bunch of clips that I have already seen. As far as your birthday and when it was won, I saw the game and yes, I am much older than you. I was born in 62 and my Dad and Uncle took me to my first game in 1969 and we rode Bart right to the stadium. I have been a Raider fan ever since! Even when they were in that other town, they were still the Oakland Raiders to me. And when they are in some other town that sins may be committed that stays there, they will always be my Oakland Raiders. Win or lose, I am a Raider Fan and anyone that knows me will tell you I have never faltered on my devotion to the Raiders.

Well, if you took Bart to the game then it wasn’t in ‘69, because Bart didn’t open until 1972. And unless it was a Monday night game then then you must have meant 1979 because Bart only ran on the weekdays until 1977, and that was for Saturdays. Sundays started in 1978. You might be an L.A. Raider fan, ‘cause they don’t know nothing about the Bay, and that would make your first game around 1982. . . I was born in ‘63 and my first game was the 1980 game that Dan Pastorini broke his leg and Plunkett came in and saved our season with our 2nd Championship in four years.

Someone should mention something about the role in Jim’s life of his wife Gerri. She had known him in New England, followed him to California, and stood with him in his lowest times. She’s also stuck with him, the Stanford community and Raider Nation through thick and thin and family tragedy. Kudos, Gerri!
