    I am here just to thank you for taking your time and doing this detailed video. Really you have no IDEA how much you have helped me, even with the whiteboard that is so helpful. I am here in Brazil, I will buy these books on the internet, thank you. I do hope that you are happy and feeling loved and fulfilled, and even when life seems hard and full of unnecessary anxiety you have your cat to pet (judging by the fur on your shirt) thank you so so much!

      @kawaiijutsu  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha, my cat is always supportive. I'm doing good! I hope you're doing the same too, with the state of everything! Also as a heads up - if you buy the books online, be careful if they're shipping from Japan right now. A lot of things will try to ship, but Japan Post is not currently shipping to MANY places, and it'll likely get lost in limbo for a long time, if not forever.

    The Try! N3 book is AMAZING!!! I was slogging my way through Tobira, understanding the content but hating how sloppily it’s organized and the poor grammar explanations. Then I watched your video and decided to give Try! a shot. I’m so glad I did. It’s so much better. Thanks for the recommendation. 😁

    Great video! For the 単語 books there are actually pre-built Anki decks which have the full sentences plus native audio that is provided by the company. They exist for the N2 and N1 as well as you go on in your study journey. I found them really helpful. Nukemarine distributes them for free to anyone who owns the books.

    This is very useful, thank you.
    I'm somewhere around N5, but taking N5 test feels a little like a waste, it's the lowest level and I'm planning on studying beyond that anyway, so I'm aiming for N4 for now. I have been slacking a lot lately though, so this is a great motivational video for me.

    • @kawaiijutsu
      @kawaiijutsu  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I've had a couple weeks where I let the ball drop and didn't study. Instead of trying to start over and change the plan, I just sucked it up and carried on from where I left off. The only concession I made was I reset the anki deck to 0. Didn't have to re-enter the cards, but I had to restudy them. It was easier than seeing "you have 700 cards today". Now I've just set the daily review limit to 150. The n5 I think is good if you need a Target for study, or you want that reward light at the end of the tunnel. The n4 isn't a bad place to start imo though

    I'm really really insecure rn, I just finished MNN Shokyuu level 1 and 2 and I study everyday N3 grammar through the Japanese4you site and study kanji from the app Kanji Tree. Now that I finished all the N3 words listed in Kanji Tree I just want to buy books in order to be perfect in all N3 tests and then just start learning N2 words and Vocabulary and directly do the N2 test. But I don't know if I should buy MNN chuukyuu level (I find it really helpful to gaining speaking skills but as a whole it's reaaaaally easy) or just replace it with TRY, the one that you just suggested OR even try Tobira, which I heard of somewhere and it also seems good. I'm talking from the grammatical point, because I think SouMatome is just fine for kanji and vocabulary, isn't it?

    • @kawaiijutsu
      @kawaiijutsu  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I've never used MNN, so im not sure at all on that one. I've not used Tobira, it looks great though if textbook learning helps keep you organized. Soumatome I think is ok for vocab up till n2. At n2 I find it better to get a dedicated book for it that's a bit higher level than soumatome

    Hey! I'd love to hear how long it took you to prepare for the test and what your study plan was in general (for example, 1 grammar page per day, 1 kanji page per day, 1 vocab page per day and then once those were finished you began the reading and listening).
    I have the shinkanzen master books so my study plan would vary from yours but I'd still love to hear about it!

    • @kawaiijutsu
      @kawaiijutsu  5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Sure! I started around September, so realistically, way too late. I plan on picking up shin-kanzen master plus other n2 books this January and making a video with my revised plan. What I did this time around was basically a page a day of reading, listening, and kanji, then 2-3 grammar points, and one section of vocab (~20 words). Add to that reviewing the anki review cards that come up each day. It was a LOT for three months. Definitely too much.
