I might hate the dude, but I gotta admit, that "death by natural causes" line, was pretty funny.

Honestly, I feel SEED would've benefited from having this guy as a recurring or at least arc long threat.
Zaft had it's monster yes, but it's a bit subtle compared to overtness of having THE ENTIRE EARTH ALLIANCE ARMY be chock full of racists and psychos.
I mean, think about it, how many Earth Alliance guys can you recall saying "For the preservation of our Blue and Pure world" compared to the number of Zafts saying "Death to all naturals" off the top of your head?
The scales come of as a bit unbalanced to me here.
@Alt Eisen agreed. I still liked rau more as a villain. Rau is probably the most evil of all the char clones and he actually makes it work for his character. With rau he always had an ominous feeling throughout seed and the buildup was actually done well

I always think it's funny when the artificially and naturally unsustainable Coordinators (they admit to having drastic declines in birthrates in 2nd Gen Coordinators) look down upon the naturally occurring humans who have thrived for thousands of years and created them in the first place.
I wonder, how well those birth rates if they're all going sterile? Are they jealous that Naturals can continue their species and they get to act like upper class snobs? Now before you call me "Blue Cosmos" or some other stupid thing like that, the only two groups I'd join would even be the Junk Guild so I could tinker with the red frame or serpent tail.
This is why seed need a a full blown reboot cause I love this concept of genetics it reminds me of the movie Gattaca nature vs nurture

@@blackpowderkun That's not their purpose at all. Newtypes as a concept don't exist in the Cosmic Era. There are people who, in other universes would be Newtypes, but there is no overriding ideology about them like in the UC.

Mikhail Coast the doctor that has a lot in common with some German WW2 doctors in how he acts.
the game depicts him as an asshole... he's probably the most neutral ZAFT pilot in the series. He becomes more of a doctor with a Hospital Zaku in the second war
He treated Edward Harrelson on a ZAFT base in South Africa when the latter had been severely injured in battle. Michael would honor his doctor code and pilot a Hospital ZAKU Warrior to help the injured after Junius Seven had fallen.
I believe surviving and seeing the horrors of the boaz bombing changed his ways a bit. He was still an asshole bit returned to being the best doctor he could

i think the sterility problem is on the females, since being strong does not inhibit sperm count, but it inhibit egg count, since lower period cramps or removing periods in general might cause sterility

I was introduced to character while playing Crossrays in the Astray X storyline. I had no idea he's that messed up and I thought most EA pilots most likely Blue Cosmos zealots at most.
A shame that I kinda wondered what happens if either a Natural or Coordinator went face to face an AV pilot.
he's not that messed up- never ending tomorrow depicts him as calling naturals a disease when he was really talking about the hostiles of the areas he was securing. He got out all his curiosity and plays more of a supporter post boaz
If the canonicity of the video game is an issue you can try looking into information from the Astray manga, novels, and photonovels for more canon lore.

I would say that youre probably right that Gai would be using his Ginn during their face off. It would explain why Gai failed on his mission on protecting the EA forces, since his Ginn was designed more for Hit-and-Run tactics than defense
Also, if memory serves me right... Somehow, Mikhail had a change of heart during the GSD era. I remember seeing a Hospital ZAKU Warrior in the GundamWiki, which is noted to be piloted by Mikhail Coast. Also, i do remember his wiki entry mentioning he helped heal Edward Harris (pilot of Sword Calamity and Raider Full Spec) after... Something (cant recall)... So yea... I guess he wasnt a total nutcase

Hi Kakarot, it is a bit of out of topic, but can I ask, (the universe logic, not the behind the scene reason), that in Gundam 0083 Stardust Memory, they give the state of art Gundam GP01 prototype to a newbie pilot, Kou Uraki, when they have one of the best ACE in the fleet, South Burning? It is so illogical, because in military anywhere, you give the best machine to the best, not to the worst / new pilot. Plus, maybe South Burning prefer GM Custom, but there are more senior pilots in Albion which has more experience and worth-ed to the prototype than Kou.

So yesterday I found that theirs a 3rd pale rider variant called the RX-80RR red rider from the magna mobile suit gundam agressor do you know anything about that particular mobile suit?
Interesting, since I knew there was 4 out there but none of the 3 uses the horsemen name other than the original Pale rider.
Since the one I know are Chivalry and the D2. There is another one with a heat lance that also used by the G-Line striker but forgot its name. I think it was Dullahan?
So if there is an actual other Pale rider units using the Horsemen name, that could be interesting since so far I thought that Chivalry, D2, and the one with lance is kind of a Symbolic as in
Chivalry as white rider(color scheme wise), D2 as black Rider (since IIRC D2 was black or deep navy at most), and the heat lance one as Red Rider....

For a a series that's half stock sequences Seed has quite in depth universe.
Gai used a modified GINN, capable of fl6ing long distances with plenty of fuel reserve.

I remember this game, sure it's not amazing, but it wasn't bad either. Gundam has a lot of games and most are honestly pretty lackluster sadly. This one was at least pretty playable.

I do believe that eventually, Mikhail started to lose his stance on Naturals are a disease. Mainly due to the mentioned battle with the Moonlight Maddog during the Battle of Boaz and the later events at Jachin Due that ended the war. I do not remember if we are actually told about the reason in the Astray canon but it would make some sense.
because the game poorly depicts his personality- the saw HOSTILES as a disease, he treated all patients who were hurt regardless of who they were.
Kakarot completely omitted his post SEED astray record.
Kakarot leaves a pretty substantial part of information out of his videos. Like for Mikhail and his loss to Canard Parr and his roll following the war. As for why he treated Edward Harrelson and Rena Amalia, I would attribute that more to orders. Remember, Mikhail was stripped of his Ginn after the war and received a Medical Zaku Warrior when the second war broke out. The reason he would treat his former enemies is likely A. orders, and B. he had a grudge to settle with Ed the Ripper.
@Stardust Alteisen Yup. That is why I think happened with Mikhail. He slowly starts to lose his hatred. I actually had an idea at one time for a Fanfiction story which introduced a revamped version of Mikhail who loses someone close to him at Junius Seven which does see him starting to hate Naturals and leading him to volunteer to join ZAFT as a mobile suit pilot. He later starts to lose his hatred and anger at Naturals after fighting on Earth during the East Asian Front (Yes I know that means he wouldn't end up fighting at Nova, but this is a fanfiction story so things changed) where he ends up seeing how the resulting damages to the power grid from the dropped N-Jammers have effected the Naturals in the area. It doesn't help that he does see his fellow ZAFT soldiers treating those same Naturals with anger. This does see him leaving ZAFT after returning to space where he ends up on Heliopolis working as a Doctor's aide. From there he joins the crew of the Archangel and becomes a major character in the story of the ship and its crew.

During the Seed saga the coordinators were always saying that the Coordinators were super humans and they were the next step in human evolution, but after the episode about the origin of Kira I realize that the coordinators have nothing special, they were design as fashion dolls for their parents, in all of those flashback the coordinators were design to look as their parents want, you know cute, handsome but without anything special, yes they were making some investigations for their soldiers with their clones to make them better pilots, but they were aging so fast and need a lot of medicines to keep going that they were simply defective, the only true super humans were the ones that had the Seed power, and they were like just five of them, so all that babble about the superiority of the coordinators was just a charade like the nazies had in their time

on the onset, he seemed like an asshole but really he was just a reserve solider wanting to do his best. I believe he was in X Astray as well during the Hyperion fights and didn't fair so well in those missions.
also after the lost of Boaz Dr.Coast seemed to go back to his duties of being a doctor, leaving ZAFT but then being requested back to do First aid/ medic support. Went to the South American Independence war and found an injured Rena and Ed in an aftermath of a clash and upheld the doctors code and treated both of them back to care despite them being from EA/another side.
pretty much the rest of his time was piloting a Hospital Zaku on Earth doing just that- healing and treating the injured. Turns out he wasn't the asshat we saw in his early time in CE70. He had to get his taste of war and he did and became more of a doctor after the first major war. he even made a BRIEF appearance at the end of Princess of the Sky; treating Dante and Elsa in an Armory one styled PLANT after being thrashed and captured by Riika Sheder in the Lord Astray Z

I feel seed missed a chance to introduce Newtypes or some kind of equivalent manifesting in the Naturals. Imagine the sh*t storm that could hit if the Coordinators had a “counterpart” appear against them in terms of supernatural/superhuman abilities.
Also I do know about Mu, and Flaga- Rei(and eventually Kira) - but that’s my point, they were there but it just flys under the radar. It felt like lost potential to introduce a new element to the philosophical clash side of Seeds universe.
Plz no, we dont need more psychics in gundam. Kira/Mu/Raus' psychic power were already redundant. No need for more

Actually, going back to rewatch the first few episodes?
ZAFT were literally space NAZIs when they were introduced. They viewed and treated Naturals as "untermensch" from literally the first time they have speaking parts on screen and it continues for a significant portion of the story. Further, judging by the LACK of reaction or comment by those around them, it was a commonly held view.
There's nothing to really suggest that this changed much in the time between the first and second war either. Not until the writers decided that some of ZAFT should side against Durandall when he announced his Destiny Plan.
To be fair, Earth Alliance nuke a civilian colony (basically a 9/11). Also, ZAFT are not space Nazi they more like space racist at best
@@Replica_Rabbit Um no. They are literally space Nazis. They're a group of "superior" humans that believe those that are not like them are inferior and less human than they are. It's displayed multiple times throughout the series.
When people talk about Nazism in the modern day it's referring to the way Nazis committed inhuman acts upon those they viewed as sub human based on the belief that the Nazis themselves were superior and thus anything less than them was less than human.
Racism, despite what some people are trying to redfine it as, is the belief that a certain races (usually defined on characteristics such as skin color, eye color, or hair color although also taking into account certain shared facial features and/or body types) are better or worse than others and that those races should keep the themselves and not mix.
Nazism is a more extreme version of racism that fits what was displayed by ZAFT within the show. While our primary ZAFT viewpoints in the form of Athrun, Dearka, Nicol, and Yzak either don't hold the views (Nicol is the only one to really give the Naturals credit as something other than being particularly clever animals) do eventually change their minds, they're also notable for being open with their opinions...and nobody batting an eye or suggesting they shouldn't be so dismissive.
Further the reaction of the PLANT government to learning that the Earth Alliance has managed to make a mobile suit is very telling in that they believe it's some sort of heresy pointing to the majority of the government believing that Naturals are indeed, not human because if they had believed that they were human the idea of them being able to create their own mobile suits would not have garnered such a disgusted reaction.

The Federation literally nuked an agriculture colony so if you go with the assumption that most coordinators thought all naturals were less than human you’d have to say the same about naturals thinking coordinators were abominations considering the sheer amount of support organizations like Blue Cosmos had
@@gundampeacekeeper First, stop using the word racism for things that are not about race. Which the Coordinator/Natural divide most definitely IS NOT about race.
Second, we have more onscreen evidence of Coordinators being worse about their views of Naturals than we do about Naturals towards Coordinators, and a lot of what we do have onscreen is poisoned by the N Jammer deployment.
The writers try to pass it off as being a "better" response than targeted nuclear or orbital bombardment of military installations, but the fact of the matter is that the N-Jammer deployment was much, much worse as it effectively destroyed a massive portion of the infrastructure needed to maintain civilization, and if the number of non-combatants that died as a direct result of the N Jammers wasn't ten times the number killed by the nuclear attack on Junius 7 I'll eat my shoes. And unlike with the Junius 7 attack, the body count would only continue to rise the longer the N Jammers were in operation.
That gives the Naturals much more reason to be hostile to the Coordinators of the PLANTS - people who publicly and loudly claim to be representative of ALL Coordinators...and yet we see far more Naturals being willing to meet the Coordinators in the middle. To the point that a significant portion of the anime's focus on the Earth/Atlantic Federation's leadership is showing a quiet coup being executed where the more reasonable members of the armed forces are killed off while Blue Cosmos sympathizers and members are being put in place to replace them.
We even have a scene showing a more or less literal coup where the big arms manufacturer essentially takes direct control of the government (remember that the first thing the legitimate government wanted to do with N Jammer Canceller technology was restore the infrastructure NOT put the nuclear arsenal back into service).
Meanwhile in the PLANTS the military hardliner Patrick Zala who made very little attempt to hide his end goal (the complete destruction of Naturals as a power was very much a publicly known goal, IIRC) was publicly elected to the office of Supreme Council Chairman.
Actually No ZAFT Was Actually had Morasiy Nobal Mind at first to defend the PLANT from The Racist Military of the EARTH Alliance for Trying to kill them all, but after the Death of 270,460 People on Junis 7 Some of ZAFT Solder's Separate into two factor's One Fighting For Peace and Freedom for both the plants and the Earth.
The Other Fighting for Revenge for the Love one's that they lost and planning to become the New Mankind like the Zeon space Nazis in the Earth Sphere.
The whole “battlefield as a wound, enemy as a disease” thing feels like a really strained and ham-fisted metaphor. Dude sounds like the product of edgy, amateurish writing. We get it, he was a doctor!
