Comments like these make me really hate being a Lakers fan sometimes. Our fans are clamoring for us to trade our best shooter because he doesn't rebound well. It is obvious we need a Center. We all know it. But there's no point in creating another even bigger issue because our fans don't wanna wait for the price of 3 potential dudes: Jonas, Vuc, Kessler to get to a respectable price. The lakers secretly want LeBron to leave but don’t want to try to trade etc…this off season LeBron can walk and you have 50 mil and solid roles players. Good move
Keep Rui he aggressive going to rim had a lil injuries but he definitely is a good player and he 6,8 developed a corner 3 and he is a good team piece compared to a couple others that didn't elevate like he did...
Wow just when Rob was getting praise He quickly looses it with this Nonsense Smfh 😡😡😡 Rui plays Zero defense and combine that with Bron And Reaves and you have a Big problem that keeps you from being a Contender. SMH
Rui is great for us.. He just need to come off the bench to boost our 2nd unit specially when lebron is resting.. they just need to get nick richards and dwight howard..
The issue isn’t in who they keep, it’s in filling the holes you have and spending the draft assets to get it done. Keeping Rui is fine, but you can forget about landing most 20 mil contracts or higher for minimal draft capital (Brown, Ball, Brogden, Vuc). Can definitely forget about any deal for a player like Cam Johnson. Sharpe (4 mil) had 9 offensive rebounds last game in 22 min, can you overpay a little to grab him instead of Kessler? Can you overpay for Ayo Dosunmu (7 mil) to fill both your athletic 2 guard spot and backup point guard role? Can you overpay for a package of Nick Richards (5 mil), Cody Martin (8 mil) and maybe even Tre Mann (5 mil)? Still some decent options out there, but will have to convince teams to move players they have no real incentive to move. Fair value is probably not enough.
Rui is actually playing over his contract numbers wise. You won’t find a suitable 3/4 at his price and production. Obviously he has some defense flaws but based on what’s out there, you won’t find a better upgrade based off his contract. You want cheap contracts with this CBA.
First of all, I like Rui a lot. In a lot of ways, you need to keep him as an “insurance policy” in the event DFS declines his option for next season and walks.
Yall got to remember teams we are trading with are trying to tank, so they would possibly take a player(s) that may not be as good as who they may be willing to trade for with player and pics
The thing about Rui is I can argue he was the best player for lakers against Denver the lakers nemesis I think the front office remember this as fans we forget matchups matter
Just more leverage by the front office it sounds like. Saying specific things but tryna get other teams to increase their offers for Rui. Or rake him in a deal for one of their key players
@@kray97 how about just be reliable, which Rui isn't. 20+ points one night 5 points the next. Fans shouldn't have to hope and pray every game that a player actually does the job they were paid to do. 1 rebound last game. No motor, no defensive instincts other than weak side help, barely any boards. The only value is scoring which isn't there half the time
Rui has been hitting 3's. And has size. He's shooting 42% from three. In the modern NBA, that's what we want! Why so many Laker fans want to trade him? We get Kessler, who can't shoot, basically a one-dimensional player, only playable against other big centers.
They need to switch Rui and DFS only for sake of offense and defense balance on the first and second unit. If LBJ was retired the. Rui would play his position but other than that unless Lakers find a way to get Vincent or Vando and JFS in a deal they are a first or second round playoff exit
You mean Austin Reaves is the Fifth highest paid player on this team 🤯… that’s insane that man better be getting some sponsorship deals and lakers better be paying his mortgage.
So, I guess that long rumored Gabe Vincent and SRPs for Jonas trade is back on. Also, the Lakers are looking for bench players. The starting lineup is solid. The pieces fit, the Lakers just need to focus on getting something out of the 25+ mil that isn't doing anything for them.
As a Lakers fan, I’m glad the Lakers are not quick to trade young Talent just any old washed up star there are no stars available that would be worthy of giving up a lot of young assets and draft picks only thing I see the Lakers doing that would be great is Going for a big man I like the center from Utah because he’s young and he has potential
They don’t want to trade Rui? Then Nikola Vucevic is off the table.. how do they plan to acquire another big man? Gabe Vincent + JHS 🔁 Robert Williams III? Move Milton to the secondary point guard ? I thought the whole reason why the Lakers wanted a big man is to move Anthony Davis to the fourth spot?
Trev, with all due respect, I don’t see how Walker Kessler or Colin Sexton would help us, and if you’re gonna trade for a center you don’t need to trade away pieces of your core that have helped us get this far. Find a deal for a backup center like guys like Drummond who can step up and challenge guys that AD can’t handle
Kessler trade wouldn’t include Rui… it’s a huge upgrade because the salary match in a trade would be a minimum contract, most likely JHS and draft capital
Main reason, so the defense doesn't fall apart whenever AD sits or can't play. If it took only JHS and a 1st, it's a no-brainer. Two firsts becomes a little dicey.
One thing I have learned doing these last few years; no one wants to help the us (Lakers). So we have to do things as if we are in control of our own destiny. If we look weak they are going to treat us like we are weak. If we look alive we will come out on top. I mention 3 years ago, please stop saying who we are interested in trading for. They are always trying to make it hard for us because we are who we are: CHAMPIONS!
Fan sentiment is so linked to comments people like Trevor make. Trevor look at any analysis website and realize closest thing to RUi is a MPJ or a all time shooter, Trevor under values him which in turn community under values him
I like Rui, and I’m they do too but if you have an opportunity to upgrade your roster at the cost of him, so be it. He’s a good player but very in consistent. If they don’t at least entertain the idea of trading him for say a Cam Johnson then we’re looking at a potential 1st rd exit.

If it's not Rui for Cam Johnson, don't trade him. We will only decrease our size if we trade him for a PG like Sexton. I'd rather have Rui, DFS, and Vando rotate around the 3&4, then move Bron to PG. Getting Walker Kessler is our main priority.
will vando ever return
Comments like these make me really hate being a Lakers fan sometimes. Our fans are clamoring for us to trade our best shooter because he doesn't rebound well. It is obvious we need a Center. We all know it. But there's no point in creating another even bigger issue because our fans don't wanna wait for the price of 3 potential dudes: Jonas, Vuc, Kessler to get to a respectable price. It's weird cause I feel like they think every team in the NBA is constantly making trades like this is 2K and the Lakers don't.
lakers need a center to relieve davis🚀
DO NOT...trade Rui or Dalton!! Absolutely DO NOT!!
Guess we already forgot that Rui's been 10 times better than he was with Washington a couple years ago and he's only 26... not even in his 'prime' technically. Yes his defense is bad but Huerter is on a team, Haliburton is on a team, Young is on a team all dudes that play one side of the ball😂
Rui is 26
Reaves is 26
Kencht is the rookie
It's the lakers future....Rui, Reaves, Kencht and Christie should be untouchable that is the future lakers core post AD.
Hopefully they can draft a big man in the future and have a promising young big to come in after AD.
Other than that. Lakers not making any moves for a center unless we get rid of those picks people gotta suck it up and deal with it do you want to contend now while LBJ and AD still around or just go with the motion in the ocean and coast being a 2nd round level playoff type team (Which could change if Woods and Vando get healthy, but they gotta still get in game shape and get used to our new players at that).
Get rid of them picks and get a Center and possibly a playmaking PG in the package. If not better off just hoping Reaves/Vincent and Shake fill that role.
this big boy brings you 42 % from the three point line since two seasons, what more do you want ?
Posturing im sure to drive up Ruis value on the trade market
This is exactly it. Posturing and hoping prices come down before February
@@alexstones2960We're acting like we wont trade Rui just like Utah pretending that Kessler is off the market. lol
@@CannedHam2479 But but but Rui can average 15 ppg 🤣🍼

Rui trash, Kessler Sexon is worth the trade
Pelinka will be gone soon by the summer. Remember, Charles Barkley said lakers are bums, but I guess pelinka doesn't think so.
I doubt it. He’s just a yes man to what Jeanie and the Rambis duo want
How 5th place with a lot of injuries since the start how’s that being a bums.
You listening to Mr. GUARANTEE says?🙄 And I love Charles...
So let me get this straight. They're not interested in trading Rui, Dalton, AR is obviously off the list if they are excluding rui, Bron and AD are untouchables. Wait, the who is left?? No one's taking Gabe & Hayes that easily I can tell you that. So we're only left with JHS expiring contract for our trade options, Well then no more trades I guess. We're doomed smh
Dude the Lakers aren't trading for a star. We are talking Kessler or Vucevic. Neither is making a lot of money. Neither would most likely be a crunch time player. Rui is our best 3 point shooter and the hope is Dalton will soon become reliable enough to do this. Why would you trade those guys away and create another issue when it comes to shooting.
@@christopherwilliams2351 I've said this a ton of times already, The Jazz are not trading Kessler unless someone overpays them, he can be a part of their rebuild cuz he's young. Vucevic maybe possible. But bulls will be hesitant to take on Gabe's salary
The lakers secretly want LeBron to leave but don’t want to try to trade etc…this off season LeBron can walk and you have 50 mil and solid roles players. Good move
the second he leaves lakers will be in hell till another star like lebron decides to join them
Keep Rui he aggressive going to rim had a lil injuries but he definitely is a good player and he 6,8 developed a corner 3 and he is a good team piece compared to a couple others that didn't elevate like he did...
They really need rui bc he’s a versatile scorer and he sometimes has good defense. Also doesn’t get a lot of touches
Rui is better than Smith. Share the ball, you can count his perimeter shot
Man the front can't be that dumb. Dalton is quickly losing trade value
Rui is a very good player
Both of them are assets on the floor I agree UNTOUCHABLE
Don’t trade rui or dalton..
but if we are being realistic with expectations the trade that will probably come thru is gabe = jonas and jhs + pick for backup point guard
I agree...RUI should not be in the decision!💜💛💜💛💜💛
First of all, I like Rui a lot. In a lot of ways, you need to keep him as an “insurance policy” in the event DFS declines his option for next season and walks.
Linda Rambis decision
Yall got to remember teams we are trading with are trying to tank, so they would possibly take a player(s) that may not be as good as who they may be willing to trade for with player and pics
I wouldn’t trade him for a small guard no! No!
Dalton for Kessler with removal of pick protection from the 27 first we already traded them.
Snart mo e for the Lakers tbeyneed scoring fromtheir bigs and Rui gives them that but they need someone that can also rebound
The thing about Rui is I can argue he was the best player for lakers against Denver the lakers nemesis
I think the front office remember this as fans we forget matchups matter
This loyalty card that they’re tryna play with certain players like Rui and Austin will come back to bite them. This is a business, period
Gota keep that japan market
Just more leverage by the front office it sounds like. Saying specific things but tryna get other teams to increase their offers for Rui. Or rake him in a deal for one of their key players
Don't be a streak shooter or have any slumps, the LeFanbase playing GM will trade you.
The only value is scoring which isn't there half the time
so basically nothing's gonna happen. gotcha
I highly suggest this trade was gabe ,wood ,hayes , jsh and the multiple picks for next year.
Rui has been hitting 3's. And has size. He's shooting 42% from three. In the modern NBA, that's what we want! Why so many Laker fans want to trade him? We get Kessler, who can't shoot, basically a one-dimensional player, only playable against other big centers.
if they don't believe DK is going to develop defensively, go ahead and trade him while his value is high
Lakers need to trade for Miles bridges and Nick Richards make that happen
No, Championship caliber-team has a player like Max starting ! We’re doomed !
Laker fans always look for a scapegoat Rui is a good player
Let Rui cook, let the front office hold their posture. Let this roster get healthy and gel for a spell. We’ll see what happens the league is fluid rn.
I wouldn’t trade Rui or max crispy either… lakers can still build a good Team without trading their core players
All they need is a C and PG💯
These 2 are great benefits. They are doing well now and will grow. Don't trade them.
There's always a breaking point for these trades. Just make the return value good enough.
How about CWood for Daniel Theis? Does that offload AD a little more?
As a Lakers fan, I’m glad the Lakers are not quick to trade young Talent just any old washed up star there are no stars available that would be worthy of giving up a lot of young assets and draft picks only thing I see the Lakers doing that would be great is Going for a big man I like the center from Utah because he’s young and he has potential
it is worth trading for if they will get a young athletic center that can help AD defensively and stay with the lakers for a very long time.
Trading Rui and/or Dalton would be an incredibly dumb idea.
No lol
@@RK-ck6plno what?
@@RK-ck6plno what
Nobody knows what these teams are doing until a move is actually made. All teams are just posturing at this time.
Trevor look at any analysis website and realize closest thing to RUi is a MPJ or a all time shooter, Trevor under values him which in turn community under values him
It’s a posturing technique hopefully
I like Rui, and I’m they do too but if you have an opportunity to upgrade your roster at the cost of him, so be it. He’s a good player but very in consistent. If they don’t at least entertain the idea of trading him for say a Cam Johnson then we’re looking at a potential 1st rd exit.
Kessler or Vuc is needed man!! ⏳️
Not vuc
Vuc would be great!
@@romariogrant4694 Why not? He a walking double double, come on now.
I'd trade dk + 1st for Kessler
Rui is a keeper ..he's humble
People getting upset in the comments - remember when other teams do it it's posturing so why would this be different for the Lakers?
Rui doesn’t fit the starting unit at all…if we keep him then he definitely should come off the bench
I have to assume this is similar posturing that other teams have done with “untouchable” players to make their assests seem more valuable. I don’t think this stands lol
Good why would they trade two damn good pieces? Those two plus Austin are keepers. Move Gabe, Vando or those picks
Just wait for buyout market for the center we been waiting for. Leave our rookie alone he is better than folks with experience on the team
What why would we trade Kenect and RUI 😂😂😂😂😂
RUI / REAVES are untouchable
Just thinking about that "HITTING THE ROOKIE WALL" thing, when it comes to DK,think hes going to be just fine
