Scaramouche is created by Raiden Ei, Raiden shogun is a puppet created by Raiden ei, and scaramouche is the prototype of Raiden shogun, so you can say scaramouche is Raiden shoguns' big brother and their mom is Raiden Ei
Most people prefer this version because it represents the character best. As you said in your other reaction, he sounds evil. But here, he is vulnerable. The voice is more dynamic, there's a battle between innocence and evil as well as humanity and inhumanity. As you said there are more effects on the voice at some points, while at the end there are none at all. All of this is intentional. Among all characters so far he's the most expressive and most emptional, so it makes sense for his voice to also change throughout the song. It goes from calm to anger, sadness, nostalgia, arrogance, hatred etc. his voice can sound both heavenly and demonic depending on the effects they use, elegant and chaotic, and all of these describe the character. The performance version only sounded Evil, but it did not sound like Scaramouche. Though he's never seen using a sword, he actually is a bit of a swordman and even knows traditional sword dances. His character is incredibly elegant, so that image you have is spot on.
The lyrics are actually a combination of Latin and Japanese. Only Genshin would think of making a Japanese-Latin Opera-rock piece with western and eastern elements.
Yu-Peng Chen the vocal for Shouki no Kami boss theme is also the composer for this song so he knows how to convey Scaramouche emotion. Scara in game has all his VA having soft sounding voice... albeit poisonous lol. He is described as elegant, innocently pure at some point & a beauty (I'm not making this up, he is lore wise beautiful according to Pale Plume artifact description)
I prefer the original softer voice since it fits the story much better. The contrast between the ominous chorus voices and the higher lead vocals is so perfect. It portrays someone who starts all young and innocent but is slowly being swallowed and changed by corruption and darkness. But there’s still a piece of light inside them.
this is why Marco hates that Italian guy's live performance so much. He wanted Yu-Peng Chen to sing it. He just has a boner for YPC that he lost interest in Genshin once YPC quit Hoyomix
@@azutsukimiya yeah, the choice for the live performance was baffling, why pick someone so completely different from the original voice. Also the way the performer seemed to drag and lag for some reason made the whole thing actually hard to listen to.
The live performance was just an adaptation after the original. Personally I prefer the digital version. That drop at 12:07 and what follows after is easily one of my favourite top 3 music parts in Genshin. It describes Inazuma so well, like a gentle thunder. The flute makes the song more balanced and not straight up a trap japanese (trapanese).
I love all the boss themes, but the Harbinger ones have a special place in my heart. The way every character is so well written blows me away. So far, every Harbinger has so many brushes with tragedy. I once said i feel bad fighting Signora, and i felt the same about Scaramouche. I genuinely felt gutted after we beat him.
12:50 As I said in your reaction to the previous video, Scaramouche is related to Raiden Shogun. I won't go into details but this is why Scaramouche's OST has Latin(refers to the 11 Fatui Harbingers like Childe, Signora, etc.) and Raiden Shogun's theme. He's connected to both.
as a musician, this is by far my favourite piece of music in genshin, perhaps even in general. It's a work of pure fucking genius, in theory it shouldn't work at *all*, but it does?? It reveals so much of his backstory and feelings as a character, I would really recommend coming back and listening to it again once you've finished the Sumeru archon quest, you'll see what I mean :) As another commenter mentioned, the lyrics are a combination of Latin and Japanese, and you probably noticed the mix of European instruments with traditional Japanese ones. This is because he's originally from Inazuma, which is based off of Japan, but eventually leaves and travels to more European inspired areas (there's obviously a *lot* more to it than that, this is without spoilers). The vocals here actually sound a lot like him, to the point that when this initially released people thought it was his Chinese voice actor!! I could rant for hours about this theme, I love it so much :')
Yeah you're definitely spot on with saying how this sounds like fighting something terrifying. This is probably the boss I got the most amount of help requests for, from people that would come into my world to farm materials. And, once I got all the stuff from this boss, I was like, "yeah...... I think I'm not gonna touch this boss anymore, not even for the weekly game mission, unless I absolutely need materials. 😂"
@@neanahidden Да! Я тоже так делаю! Я сразился с этим боссом более 50 раз, у меня десятки предметов, полученных с него, в инвентаре... Я тоже шёл туда ради музыки, а не наград.
Childe is my fav character ever and still in Genshin impact, and he is the one i wanted to play and still playing the game for 4 years, but to be honest scaramouche bosses BGM is my most fav of all.. the others are great too,but this is just my personal fav.. listening the BGM while fighting robot Gundam (*this is just my joke of call that thing a gundam)😂 if you know what i mean.. thanks for the video, finally.. look forward to another video
Yeah, this is the original voice, I'm not sure why they picked a deeper voice for the live concert. I think this fits so much better and sounds like the character in the game that it is representing. Both are good, but this is better.
One thing i like with Genshin music was it suits the character. Like this one, the multiple language and kinda chaotic piece really match the character Scaramouche. I prefer this one cause it gives me chills. . . well given who this music is for. . makes sense😅
I prefer this version's vocals because Scaramouche is a young looking and elegant type of character. He has one of the most tragic stories and his sadness comes forth really well in this version. The reason why I didn't like the live performance one as much is precisely because the vocals were so different. It didn't sound quite as delicate and youthful as the original was meant to be. While this boss theme is definitely meant to sound threatening, it is also meant to sound really sad. When I first heard this song I didn't know much about Scaramouche nor did I like this character, but after I was done listening it had become very clear what type of character he was. Broken, sad and screaming for help on the inside. He became my favorite from this song alone. After playing his quests, he did indeed turn out to become my favorite. I think his boss theme did really well in describing his character.
Love watching your reactions. Do you do something to the audio while editing? Because for some reason it seems even more high quality in your videos than it does on the official soundtrack?? Also sir how good are your headphones you looked SPOOKED during phase 1, now I want to know how much better it sounds with those (understandable tbh)
Your reaction on this, Make me can't wait to see your reaction to ALL-DEVOURING NARWHAL boss theme. But yeah, we have to follow the list, right. Nice reaction bro🔥Can't wait for the next 🔥
He's not emotional, he's scared 😆 Now that I listen more closely the music sounds like something that could play in Devilman Crybaby. Don't watch this anime if you're easily scared, I have regrets 💀
Scaramouche past story including his Boss's song it's like reading Boheminan Rhapsody lyrcs, even his name and mother names appears in the song PD: it's my favorite character
SPOILERS!!!!!!!!!! well inside the robot is actually a "person" known as scaramouche, the balladeer and many other names, also known as Raiden Ei "son" and they are from inazuma so ofc there is gonna be inazuma vibe but it's in sumeru, the battle

no its not, the prologue is just a recycled OST from unreconciled stars event put only as background noise for when they're talking, its not a part of the boss theme.
indeed the intro is an important part. the character's leitmotif in a film noir atmosphere with low clock strikes sets the atmosphere. And the polumnia omnia part is much better in the recorded version because the juxtaposition of a lonely young male voice against a military chorus is part of re-telling the story
Genshin Impact isn't just a mobile gacha game. It is real rpg game with gacha features. You can't compare it to games such as Azur Lane and Fate/Grand Order. This kind of music is definitely not wasted on Genshin Impact.
Not really.. genshin is cross platform game not only for mobile tho.. i dont think it is a waste.. perfectly good playing and listen to it on pc or ps5
I don't share that opinion. Imagine who would listen to the tracks if it was a small company that produces classical music and this mixes. I love the video game aspect because it brings these masterpieces to a huge amount of people who otherwise wouldn't even know what was possible. Maybe it also inspires young people to a musical career. It's perfect!
Genshin definitely has more shallow gacha-type mobile game elements, but it also has an incredibly rich story, lore, and world with a lot of well-written characters. The music is far from wasted on it, in my opinion. There's a reason it makes so much money and attracts so many people, and that's because it can cater to casual gamers, people who just want pretty characters, and people who want a good story, world, and lore.
