The familiar melody is Genshin's most used leitmotif. They use it in almost all the battle themes, boss themes, and even early character themes. At this point every time it shows up in a new song it's like that Leonardo DiCaprio pointing meme 😂 It's called the photon of fluctuation leitmotif since that's the name of the Mondstadt battle theme where it first showed up. I recommend looking out for it in future reactions and maybe even trying to spot it in songs you've already heard - anthem of the savannah for example.
I thought it was a 'Venu' being played. Don't 'Bansuri' have deeper range of notes. Or are possibly both instruments are being used. Granted I'm not personally familiar with either one of these flutes, so not saying anything for certain. Just bit confused.
Bansuri isn't equivalent of Shakuhachi, there are multiple Bamboo flutes arround the world and Shakuhachi is similar to Chinese Xiao because it is derived from it Shakuhachi is end blown flute whereas Bansuri sideblown flute
That familiar melody is Genshin's leitmotif called Photon of Fluctuation and is largely present in MOST battles (especially in Anthem of the Savannah) and Boss themes...
I remember that the fight with this boss was absolutely beautiful and the quest related to it made me tear up so bad. The Warden is fully from Sumeru. If you will reach it, you'll see.
You've pinpointed the Photon of Fluctuation leitmotif!! It probably sounds so familiar to you because it features heavily in Natlan's battle music (Anthem of the Savannah) that you first listened to! It's widely thought to be the theme of either Teyvat or the Traveler as it features in one of the battle themes in every nation, as well as scattered in various other OST tracks. I personally think it's the leitmotif of Teyvat, mostly because of how prominent it is in this boss theme, which is against one of the original Dragon Sovereigns of Teyvat (some of the oldest beings in existence in the game's lore).
It's interesting you mention Inazuma hints in this, because this theme was apparently in the beta for the Chasm, which is the underground region of Liyue (which shares some intrumentation overlap with Inazuma). But in the end, it was modified and released with Sumeru instead. Personally glad it was released to be the Sumeru boss theme though, it fit perfectly with Sumeru instrumentation :)
It is the battle theme of Genshin Impact that is in most of the integrated battle music, for example the Natlan savannah anthem, each nation has its variant. The music in Genshin Impact is amazing. You should definitely check out the battle themes from Enkanomiya and The Chasm.😉🥰
That so familiar sounding Part is The photon of fluctuation Motive used in many, many Genshin battle OSTs in different variations, keys and so on. You'll recognise It in everyone of Teyvat's regions. You've heard it in the Natlan Symphony first... The second song there
I almost would say that is the Main characters’ battle theme, it shows up everywhere and both MCs names are related to light (Aether and Lumine) and a photon is light.
Been loving all your genshin reactions so far man. If it's not too much trouble, would it be possible to get an analysis on a specific track? There's a battle theme in the game that hasn't been officially released on music streaming yet, so right now everyone just calls it Natlan Battle Theme 2. It has a lot of vocals in Swahili just like Anthem of the Savannah but because it's not released yet we don't have official lyrics to read, and I'm dying to know how to sing them and what it means... If anything, it would be another banger from Natlan to see you react to even outside of a more thorough analysis so that would be a cool video too!
5:30 Yes yes. That's called "Photon of Fluctuation" started from Mondstadt. They use for all of nation theme (Mondstadt, Liyue, Inazuma, Sumeru, Fontaine, Natlan) and characters demo too
that part you mentioned is genshin battle theme pretty much all around the region. started from mondstadt battle theme photon of fluctuation. similar one i find is in inazuma overlord of thunderstorm and natlan anthem of savana also xiao theme sounds very similar to this one

Japanese Shakuhachi is derived from Chinese Xiao (which u can hear in Liyue music)but still sound different China have much influenced the south east countries musically (instrument)japan, korea for example and other
Hey there! I've been watching all of your Genshin Impact reactions and I'm really enjoying them! If you're still up for suggestions I would like to suggest "Jade Chimes" from the album "Jadeite Redolence" (from HoyoMix as always). This is definitely not one of the more popular, well known songs in the game and it's also pretty calm so it might be kind of a niche pick, but for some reason that one really resonated with me so I'd like to suggest it anyways. If you'd rather listen to the other songs that are suggested more often that's completely fine too of course, I'll be along for the ride either way :)
5:31 The section you found familiar is actually the main battle leitmotif of Genshin Impact called "Photon of Fluctuation", you've heard it in "Anthem of the Savannah" (Natlan Symphony) and in the earlier character demos.
This boss fight is less of a dire “life or death situation” and almost more like a rescue mission. I think is reflected in the music as more of triumphant fanfare adventure sound.
The story quest to get to this boss was very sad, as others have said, but was also very important because it does give you a bit of lore as to why there is hostility and even a boss in the first place. I remember the first time playing this boss in co op and accidentally killing everyone because of a certain C6 4 star character than I have 💀 it was after that experience that I learned how careful I need to be with elemental reactions and how much damage they can do. I can't wait for you to continue your journey in Teyvat and see just how strong characters can be when certain elements are used together
This was a prototype battle theme in the Chasm which is Liyue and they didnt use it but after a year or so they used it on this Sumeru boss This is the prototype: th-cam.com/video/eZjQnrhUdsM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=5s7L0BLQnS4lkL2y
this song is the song you listen to when you go give the dendro dragon its weekly chemotherapy (it's a sumeru song, the flute isn't a shakuhachi, it escapes me the name but it's middle eastern, as sumeru is based off the Alexandrine Empire's entire extent)
I don't think I've ever paid attention to that background synth, but there are very good reasons for it if some of the theorycrafters are correct about where the story is going.
To answer your question about this boss coming from Inazuma to Sumeru, no, this boss, Guardian of Apep’s Oasis you fight inside the Dendro dragon Apep, think of it as a self defense mechanism. This is one of the weekly bosses I’ve been fighting lately as it drops materials for one of my characters
This is what you keep Listening to: th-cam.com/video/Iqd0Td56tyM/w-d-xo.htmlsi=etXYxz-Ki4HwQ4wl It is called "Photon of Fluctuation" it is a Leitmotif that is present in most of the Weekly boss battle theme's.
this boss is complete sumeru boss, the king of dendro dragon, acient rulers of the teyvat before the archons and even the heavenly principles. ages more than 10k years. This thing is you can say a n illusion of the dragon's deep inside, not the dendro dragon king itself.
Btw, I know you've watched the demo trailer, but I don't think you've watched the teaser trailer? Those usually have more about the character than the demo (demos are oriented for their in-game combat aspect, often). Most 5 star (SSR) characters have these, because most of them have what we call a "Story-Quest". Here are some examples of those "teaser trailer": **Nilou** teaser trailer (JP Dub, Eng + ID Sub) th-cam.com/video/p5wPbtzASRk/w-d-xo.html **Eula** teaser trailer (JP Dub, Eng Sub) th-cam.com/video/uMATU_Spa9s/w-d-xo.html **Yoimiya** teaser trailer (JP Dub, Eng Sub) th-cam.com/video/6Evgm8YicTQ/w-d-xo.html **Emilie** teaser trailer (JP Dub, subs of lots of other languages) th-cam.com/video/b2V9vZwZzDo/w-d-xo.html **Mualani** teaser trailer (JP Dub, subs of lots of other languages) th-cam.com/video/RbTnCgeyiVY/w-d-xo.html ps.: I am careful to pick the ones that won't spoil AQ main plot for you. So no issue there. English dubs are also available, if you search. (but I prefer JP since they're way better anyway, so...)

This is a sumeru boss
In 7:32 you ask if the boss is changing, yes he has 3 fases and this part he is charging a deadly atack , he is my favorite boss in the game.

The flute is a "Bansuri" used in a lot of Sumeru music which the Indian equivalent of the Shakuhachi from Japan because they are both made from Bamboo
I thought it was a 'Venu' being played. Don't 'Bansuri' have deeper range of notes. Or are possibly both instruments are being used. Granted I'm not personally familiar with either one of these flutes, so not saying anything for certain. Just bit confused.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOH he found the Photon of Fluctuation! :D (I hadn't yet xD Then again, I'm terrible at recognizing these leitmotifs)
I remember that the fight with this boss was absolutely beautiful and the quest related to it made me tear up so bad.
