Good job, I just got a new sram mech and had never fitted and set up anything other than Shimano for a decade (even then it was old sunrace mtb mechs + campag). Made it easy and I now know what the red plastic thing is for.
There's a couple things in this video that are not correct for anyone who's going to follow this. 1. You should determine your chain length by wrapping the chain around the largest cassette cog and around the front chain ring. You want 4 extra links after they overlap. DO not put the chain through the derailleur for this measurement. This is in the Eagle manual. 2. The B gap adjustment in the video is done on the second largest cog. This will result in the B gap being way too close to the cassette. This should be done with the chain on the largest cog.
I personally always leave cutting and crimping the cable till last. There were a few other things that didn't seem quite right to me but I'm just a home mechanic what do I know? Haha. Enjoyable video none the less. Thanks.

You are better off viewing SRAM’s video, where they provide correct instructions for a proper installation. This video is has multiple errors (initial alignment of cogs, barrel CCW 2 rotations, chain length adjustment, etc.) that will result in improper installation. Video should be removed from TH-cam.

Then you can get a shimano 1x10 cassette or 1x11 cassette but not a sram one unless you change the freehub body on the rear hub of your wheel too. Don’t forget you’ll need all the other parts too (shifter, deralluier etc)
How do you know where to break the chain? Isn't there a need to set the barrel adjuster initially? What about every other vid that says to have the bike weighted to 30% sag to set the B limit with the tool. For a CRC vid, this seems sadly lacking in detail.

First..you need to find out what bb did the nx uses...DUB or gxp. If the nx eagle crankset is DUB, than, any other DUB compatible crankset from SRAM will fit. (Bare in mind that the genius is boost...so you need to buy a boost crankset aswell)

Im really in need of a new rear deraliuer, cassette and shifter as my mountain bike has gone through a lot of abuse as i have been getting more comfortable jumping (maybe a little too much) but i really don't have any money at the moment. if you don’t have 40% of the tools for an install, buy 2 of the ones you don’t have and have the bike shop do it, you’ll save some cash and eventually have a full tool kit
SRAM have a table of what spacers to use, but don't include it with the DUB bottom bracket or the crank. FFS. Luckily it's all online if you search for SRAM dub bottombracket in Images.
I miss mine too, still got it but the front end was folded in and then it was rebuilt with a really long and slack front end that ppl said wouldn't work (in about 1999).

Is it really always necessary to replace bottom bracket too when upgrading a groupset?
v1d300 it depends On what cranks you use because they dont all fit On the same BB

Yes but you will need a sunrace cassette which uses a shimano freehub (this means you wont have to buy a new free hub body)
