Sadly for reason, Bob D does not care about truth, just donations...

Creationists seem to want to keep things so simple that they ascribe to willful ignorance and a refusal to learn the science. But, even when they do attempt the science, it seems they half ass it. This video exposes exactly why we leave the deeper maths and science to the experts that are willing to devote their lives to these studies. Yes, of course, do your research, but part of that is to know when you are outgunned in the field.
When you are doing your own research ensure that the sites you are getting your information from are reliable and credible.
@@vestafreyja Agreed, checking several sources to be safe. I don't expect all the results to be identical but they will be very similar and give the means that they came to their results. You make a very good point.

Dutko having the audacity to complain about indoctrination when he’s grifting for religion.
Every creationists spouting "Noah took baby dinosaurs on the Ark!" knows jack about young animals. They are bad at surviving in general. Delicate, needing constant care, prone to infections and accidents. Many have special dietary requirements - they can't survive on the same food adults eat. smh
But Noah was obviously an expert in animal husbandry, just like he was an expert in maritime construction! Because, erm, gawd majik!
I said this for a video on one of the videos on a Creationists channel on TH-cam. All I got was Yes, you are quite right that carbon dating can't be used for specimens older than 50,000 years. But guess what...IT WILL WORK for samples that (as they assert) are only 4-6000 years old. So why haven't you carbon-dated rocks, if they're only less than 6000 years old?
Good question
I wouldn't ask about carbon dating rocks, however, you can point out that ALL life forms should have tons of carbon remaining if the Earth is only 1 carbon half life old.
We should never see, for example, a 20k year old mammoth, a 10k tree ring, 25k organic material in lake sediments (which also match the annual sediment layers).
Why do we see ANY organic material with only trace amounts? Where did it all go?

This Dutko guy is quite dangerous. If you aren't well informed on the topics he's covering you could come away thinking he has a point. One comforting thought for me was how empty the pews were. Presumably Dutko's crew picked the best angle for the filming ? They went for Jesus Juice and instead got misinformation about carbon dating !
A point to mention - chemistry (particularly analytical chemistry, where I spent 20 years) does not deal in "zeros" and "nones". Experimentation and statistical assessments of control samples give Limits of Detection and Limits of Quantification.
One cannot say "There is zero Uranium in this sample" because even a single U atom would falsify the statement. Instead, based on the instrumentation, one can only say "there is LESS THAN 20 parts-per-trillion (ppt) Uranium in this sample" with any confidence, if the instrumentation has been demonstrated to be accurate to that degree (given demonstrated repeatability, noise levels, and other quality control measures)
A detection limit may be in %, parts per million, billion, trillion, quadrillion in some cases. But a lab CANNOT and will not say "zero" for an elemental concentration. "None detected" is the closest, but it's a literally truthful statement that inevitably refers back to how little of an analyte the instrument can reliably quantify.
Wow, that sure is an empty set of pews in front of him. Must be a rough time making money by lyin' for Jesus.

Dutko says there were only a handful of dinosaurs that grew really large. He doesn't even know (or is lying about) the extent of the fossil record we have. There were two species of triceratops alone, many more large ceratopsians. What about all the species of tyrannosaurs, titanosaurs, stegosaurs, hadrosaurs - just to name a few of the more iconic genera?
What really really bothers me is how confident people can be when they're ignorant on a subject matter. I get that faith necessarily requires one maintain ignorance, but it's still annoying 😑

The simple answer is that SOME rocks date SOME fossils. SOME fossils date SOME rocks.
Pre-ordered the book, can't wait!
That starting statement basically boils down to "you'd be crazy to think that if you have no apples, getting two apples will make you have 5 apples. But what if the evidence proves that to be true".
I mean yes it would be interesting and unexpected, but the evidence simply shows that it isn't true.
Regarding the "censorship", Dutko claimed that this information is censored from school textbooks specifically. Which is wild, because none of these are high school level topics. Why would they put something so niche as the challenges of carbon dating dino bones in a school textbook?!

I just love that Dutko thinks that the amount of Carbon-14 remains locked within an organism and there is no exchange over time. The radiometric dating process is to measure the half-life of the Carbon-14 that was present in the organism, but the system isn't completely isolated and it's a darn good thing.
If every organism that was buried on earth locked in all of their Carbon-14 atoms, wouldn't that have a significant impact on the amount of elemental Carbon within our environment?
Thanks!

The funniest and telling thing creationists always say that Noah only took the babies as if any animal that isn’t like a turtle or most species of insects is totally ok with a weird bearded man taking their kids, and saying babies don’t require much care or feeding. With those who have taken care of human children and baby pets they require serious care and attention, and we wouldn’t have a Noah’s Ark story if Noah was gored or turned into a blood stain on the ground from animals that are a lot more protective with their kids than a turtle.
Plus, by the time Noah got back from Sumatra with the baby komodo dragons, they'd be adults. There were no airlines, back then. When he got back from South America, with the macaws... dang it - they're both males! What bad luck! All the different penguins, the polar bears... it all makes the ark itself anticlimatic. The best adventures would've been traveling the world in a much bigger ship, trying to locate and catch all these animals. It would make a fantastic movie.
Don't forget that the Ark housed all these animals for nearly 15 months, not just 40 days, so they would need enough food for everything to last more than an entire year
