The HYSPLIT model tells you the wind direction at a particular location and time. I use it to work out where the air in my air samples most likely originally came from. So the regions that had the largest influence on the sample site when the sample was collected. For more detail see this webpage: www.arl.noaa.gov/hysplit/hysplit/
