I do appreciate you talking about the propaganda from the point of view at the time. It's so easy to look back and condemn it without even trying to understand what was going on at the time.
Interesting related fact: According to Mindy Johnson's book "Ink and Paint: The Women of Disney Animation", Gyo Fujikawa was a Japanese-American artist who in 1940 began working in Disney's promotional department on Fantasia. In mid-1941, Walt Disney (for business reasons) relocated her to his New York office... therefore her she avoided being sent to an internment camp after the attack on Pearl Harbour, but her parents and brother weren't so lucky. According to Fujikawa, when Walt visited his New York office, he comforted her. When she explained to Walt that when people asked her about her nationality, she would lie and say she was Chinese or Korean, but Walt snapped: "Why do you have to do that, it's none of their business. If anybody asks just tell them what you really are... an AMERICAN CITIZEN."
2:20 yeah context helps. Kinda reminds me of the blackface channel in that regard. It helps to keep receipts and not be so offended. Heck I remember a goofy sioux song in an annie oakley movie.
Yo man, ripper work mate. As a Disney history buff, I fully appreciate your contributions to keeping Disney's history alive.
Thank you!

To paraphrase Dan Carlin
“It’s important to judge historical works by the standards of their time”
Thank you!
I’m very surprised that Japan dubbed this cartoon.
