She finally released a new mini album "Prism" on April 26th, 2023 for the first time in 16 years. And of course I have got it. I'm fascinated very much with her unchanged singing voice and her sound! It seems that "Cosmic Radio" listed in her album is her new pen name.
And as soon as that candy melts and leaves a sweet aftertaste in your mouth is when you realize that you're still in love even after they've already disappeared.
Oh man. This genre of music is literally what is keeping me together these days. I would like to bow down to the person who created this genre and kiss their feet. That might’ve been tmi, but it’s literally free therapy.
Vibe still unmatched, japan magic with Soul/Funk/RnB atmosphere is a perfect fit… When i listen to this masterpiecd i just imagine me walking around sakura trees with that perfect girl, Talking about things i couldnt with others 😢
Such a smooth groove, combined with Naoko's sultry vocals makes this a true City Pop classic. It's certainly one of my top 10 (if not top 5) City Pop tracks. I prefer tracks like this with lots of piano, and that jazzy slide guitar sound. It makes me wish I could go back in time to the excitement, glitz, and glamour of pre-Lost Decade Japan. My best friend's parents lived the ultra-rich life of corporate executive expats in Roppongi Hills, Tokyo during the late 80s and it sounds like their lives were insanely extravagant and flat out glamorously exciting, full of expense account-paid dinners at Michelin 3-Star restaurants (the finest restaurants on Earth), prestigious hotels, chic bars and nightclubs, and art and culture. I can't even imagine what it must have been like. It seems like the best parts of their lives, even more than after their kids were born. As a low-paid barista in loads of debt, such a life feels almost like they couldn't really exist.

Ah! What a song. I discovered Plastic Love last week. Now diving deep into the J-City-Pop world , and it's just beautiful.

Naoko Gushima

Candy
Oh Candy
Oh Candy You're my friend
Candy
Oh Candy
Oh Candy You're my friend
Candy
Oh Candy
Candy
Candy
Oh Candy
Oh Candy You're my friend
Candy
Oh Candy
Candy…

That song is a pearl.

Candy, here without carrying anything

When I wake up tomorrow morning
There'll be something new
Inside my heart, I'm sure of it
Candy, feel your heart
Oh Candy and that'll
Always be your proof
Oh Candy You’re my friend
Everything that is
Reflecting in your eyes
I want them to shine
