Thank you very much for yet another great video... such useful tips!!! I couldn't figure out how you manage to get a two-tone colour - with a different colour in the centre, but you make everything appear so easy. Your videos are always so enjoyable 😉

What is the baking temperature and baking time?

    • @impresscookiepressdisks3178
      @impresscookiepressdisks3178  6 ปีที่แล้ว

Bake in a 400 degree F oven for 6-10 minutes or until the edges just begin to brown slightly. Let cool for two minutes before removing to a cooling rack. See the linked photo blog for more pictures or details.

In the full recipe it has baking soda instead of baking powder in the recipe which one is it.

Hi Mickey Blue! Apologies for the typo! Hard to believe in the 6 years this video & the coordinating blog post have been up no one else ever caught it. It is baking powder. I corrected the mistake. Thanks for the question, catching my error, and for checking out my recipes! Happy Baking! ~Susie the Disk Designer

Wat kind of mixer is that?

    • @impresscookiepressdisks3178

Hi Mandi T thanks for the question! It's a Sunbeam stand mixer. I actually find that this mixer (with its 2 beaters) works better for spritz dough than my KitchenAid. I've been using a Sunbeam to make spritz dough since I was a kid and I just like the feel! ~Susie the Disk Designer

@@impresscookiepressdisks3178 thanks! I have a kitchen aid n not a big fan of it. Yours looks so much easier to control what your doing. Trying to make the dinosaur cookies today. Wish me luck 🤞

@@mandit5555 good luck! Remember you can always take the dough out and knead it by hand if it just isn't mixing right. Even I have to do it sometimes. :) Also remember as you mix that you can tweak overly soft dough with flour a Tablespoon at a time or overly stiff dough with vanilla a teaspoon at a time. Hope it turns out great! ~Susie (Oh and by the way the Sunbeam isn't terribly expensive. ;) )

Forgot to add this question too. All the other recipes have eggs in them. Was this omitted in this recipe?

    • @impresscookiepressdisks3178

Anthony great question. All of my powdered sugar spritz recipes are egg-free. They are a unique spritz that is kind of a blend of a spritz cookie and a russian teacake (mexican wedding cookie) but without any nuts. It's a quick and easy to make recipe that tends to be very smooth to press and consistent in its results. It's a favorite of mine!

Thank you for your quick reply. I went to your web page (like the one I've listed above), and found many tempting recipes. I was so disappointed when I realized I could not get any of the Impress discs until next year. I saw them last year and was going to get some but decided to wait til this year. Maybe next year they will be back in stock. I've looked everywhere but no one has any in stock.

why are you using the antiquated mixer??? who spins their own bowl today???

    • @impresscookiepressdisks3178

I inherited it years ago from my Mom, who taught me to make spritz cookies... and I find it fun to use! I have a KitchenAid, but I always use the old mixer for spritz cookies. It has character. ;)

Everyone has their own way of baking, as long as the result turns out well and they have fun in the process that's what matters. You may like to use an automatic mixer, which is awesome, and I personally like to spin my own bowl, I find it fun!

it looks like a Sunbeam mixer.
