I’m a back country snowmobile and 100% of our radios (line-of-sight) are crap. I bought these and then was confronted with the overwhelming keypad and functionality. Thanks man!…for at least getting me and my riding crew to a starting point.
Scott, you are the Ham Man!! I always go back to your vids for reference. I think it’s time for you to do nation wide tour. Promote the Hobby and introduce it to new folks I’ll drive the camper! 😂😂 Picture it, full of Radios, antennas sticking out all over the roof. HamMan Tour painted on the side. As long as there is Scotch and Cigars in there, we’re good!!
Hi Scott, the way I fixed the mike slipping out and transmitting problem is I zip tied the mike cord to the belt clip, it has never came out in 2 years because the cord is now tight, hope this helps
That is exactly what I do as well and will be covering in an upcoming video. Yaesu used to provide an adjustable ring that fit over the base of the antenna to achieve the same result by tensioning the mic cord. But their newer speaker mics don't have this. So, a small zip tie through one of the lanyard holes gets the job done.
