  • I got the SOLLED 6 pack of color changing LED puck lights and 2 remote controls to try out here on the homestead.
    There are six LED puck lights in the pack along with 2 remote controls and 8 sticky pads.
    These are pretty cool with the ability to change colors at the push of a button or let the lights cycle through the colors automatically.
    You can press the front of the LED puck light to turn them on or off. Or you can use the remote control. But with the remote control you can change colors or program modes.
    I put some AAA batteries into three of them right away to get an idea how they work. I love them so far. I can see using these in a camper or tent.
    There are 16 colors you can set with the press of a button or you can let the light run through its programmed modes.
    When the LED is on white light you can dim it using the remote control which is cool.
    I plan to get these all going and run a full test and video review so stay tuned.
    You can get the SOLLED 6 pack of LED RGB puck lights here: amzn.to/2OtbYAX

    I'd rather use the cheapies from the dollar store. No remote control, but I can get 16 for the price of these 6.

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought several of the cheap lights at the dollar store. What I need is cheap emergency lighting in the event of a power outage. What I don't need during a power outage is a bunch of blinking color changing lights :) I guess it comes down to what you intend to use the lights for.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      David, they also work in white light and they have remote controls. Valuable in a power outage I think.

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Troy, a remote control may be nice to have but I only paid a dollar a piece for my emergency lights. The big problem with all of these lights, including mine, is the cost of batteries. I solved the problem by buying cheap dollar store batteries to go with my cheap dollar store lights. So the batteries ended up costing 50 cents for each light. Not a long term solution but great for short power outages. Like we have around here. I plan to set up a small solar power system to cover critical loads during an outage.... Lighting, the fridge, freezer, phone, modem, and computer.

    • @TheDoItYourselfWorld
      @TheDoItYourselfWorld  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@DavidJohnson-tv2nn i have learned that those cheap dollar store batteries will leave you hanging or rot out your cheap dollar store lights leaving you with a pile of cheap dollar store garbage. I use high quality rechargeable batteries. Buy once. Use them for many years. Cant say that about dollar store batteries. Lets not even get into the waste from all those batteries

    • @DavidJohnson-tv2nn
      @DavidJohnson-tv2nn 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Troy, you are correct and I agree completely. The use of cheap dollar store batteries was a quick and cheap temporary solution. For less then 10 dollars (6 lights and batteries) I have emergency lighting throughout the house. That covers the bedroom, hall, bathroom, Livingroom, kitchen, and one spare light. I will be purchasing rechargeable batteries soon. Just have to do some research to find out which ones are best. One point I would like to make is that I've had issues with corrosion of the more expensive Duracell batteries as well. Non-rechargeable batteries are garbage and a waste of money. That is why I chose to waste as little money as possible until I get some good rechargeable batteries.

    I have a set that looks identical that I bought from Walmart. Only to find out that whether you use them or not the batteries will go dead! I read a few blogs and there's a lot of people having the same issue. This is a bad design because there's constantly a draw on the batteries even while not on! Has anyone else had these issues?
