What a wonderful symphony ... I don't understand why it is not so well known in the world. 01:42 This part is breathtaking! I like Russian composers very much. Greatings from Brazil 🇧🇷
Well, everyone seems to think of Rimsky-Korsakov as just the Flight of the Bumblebee and nothing more, and they just write him off. I am guilty of this myself, and every time I regret it because he's so good!
It often says that this is the first Russian Symphony ever. That is not true. Anton Rubinstein wrote two of his Symphonies before Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov`s 1st. But I love this Symphony, and all other works by Rimsky.
@@geeceesteiner62 That's actually a good question, and one I can't immediately answer. I'll look into it, because all of his pieces that I've listened to just draw me in, and there's something very special that I can't put my finger on.

@@ClassicalMusic2002 Ok, to be fair, Scheherazade too, but that's still a very small proportion of his output.

first Russian-feeling symphony.
not German way
@@user-kp9of7re9q Actually, Rimsky-Korsakov himself acknowledged Schumann's influence (especially the Manfred Overture).
@@GoldinDr But it has a Russian/Slavic feel to it. Anton Rubinstein's symphonies do not.
This is the first symphony, wrote by composer of "Mighty Bunch" (The Mighty Five). Anton Rubinstein was not one of them.
For literally one second there I thought this was Scheherazade
Or the Russian Easter Festival Overture.
It sounds a bit too Germanic to be Scheherazade. Indeed it is noted this work is influenced by Schumann.
You can hear some influence of Liszt les preludes, symphonic poem 1.
Great music.

Definitly like! Thank you for the upload :-)
It is my pleasure to provide my audience with good music, and Rimsky-Korsakov *never* disappoints!

Nem tudo se desfaz
There are parts of this that are so quiet that I think it quit playing. Unfortunately, I cannot increase the volume.
Unfortunately, that is the limitation of regenerative devices. There's no such thing in a device that makes a good sound
NEM TUDO SE DESFAZ
Nem tudo se desfaz.

Is this the first version or the later revised version?
