Math is actually useful - Re-marking a harmonic damper for free.

Here's how to use a pre-1986 harmonic damper on a 1986+ SBC.
This will work on any engine, but I know small block Chevy guys have this problem.

OR,, you can take a fabric measuring tape and run that around the balancer and DIVIDE the circumference by pye to get the diameter.Keep it simple ;)

It's welded to the timing cover.
