Daniel, please don't change anything the vault is perfect the way it is. The world is full of armchair quarterbacks with great ideas and good intentions. Let them start their own channel.
Daniel, as a long timer, been around since before the "Tribe" and Whiskey Biscuits, I absolutely LOVE this format. All of it. I love the "Story time with Daniel" videos through the week that are kind of what I would call whiskey adjacent, but deeper than the Vault content from the past few years, and absolutely LOVE this hidden drams/gifted drams where it's just nerd out about a specific whiskey with the Mr Rogers vibes. This is exactly the whiskey channel i've been looking for for years. Keep this up. Thanks so much, and I'm glad you're here!
Daniel, thank you so much for taking the time to record the video message about a week ago. I was so sad I wasn’t able to join y’all for the special tasting, but after I win this battle I look forward to joining you sometime in the future.
Thanks Daniel, I've been watching each video of whisky vault from France since almost 4 years and it's always a pleasure to listen you, learn and laugh! Merci monsieur Whittington
I concur…the Likarish family are special folk. From their recently retired turned newest distillery intern (John), to Mother of TX whiskey Marcia, to the ginger brothers Robert & Johnathan, to the rest of distillery crew, all are warm and inviting when you make the trek to Dennison. I only wish I could get there from NorCal more often for more of their specialty whiskey, the ones not found in Total Wine. I WILL be loading up in December when I venture out to TX for Somm 2!
I agree this is the best example of a Texas Whiskey. I have the older bottling from 2017 that I’ve been saving. I may get a new one to compare. Thanks for all the background knowledge this.
I love the wisdoms reviews (if we can call them that) where you share stories, opinions and wisdoms when reviewing whiskies. I also love spontianity of the Gifted reviews and Hidden drams. I think the live streams should be something inbetween where you can chat with us as well. 🥰
This is Joe from Calabria, Italy - long time subscriber, please know that I think you are doing a great job with this new version of the vault. I enjoy every posting.
I look forward to this every week, and I'm looking forward to an upcoming trip to Texas to maybe snag a bottle or two of Ironroot to bring back to New England.
I was just talking to a friend of mine about Ironroot just last night... O_O It's one of the distilleries I've wanted to visit for years now, ever since I managed to get my hands on their Harbinger back in 2019. I've been fortunate to talk with the Likarish family due to participating in numerous TX whiskey events. I'll get there someday, but as someone from the New England area... Texas is a big place... 😅
Daniel, i admire you a lot and you being real about not having time for blind tasting gifted drams is as real as it gets. I hope i can do as good a job with my business
Since I'm a Texan 🤠 I want to try every Texas whisky. My budget makes that problematicical, and alas, I'm in Albuquerque where the Texas whisky supply is very limited. So far Ironroot Republic hasn't showed up here, so I don't even know whether I could afford their juice. This does sound delicious, though. Eventually - my preference would be not immediately - it might be nice to have Rex as a guest on the Vault, in *your* style. Obviously he'll be him, but working within your tamer, more rational style he just might be a very interesting guest. 🙂
Ah right over your shoulder is the Balcones barrel proof Rye. That is hands down like 6:30 my favorite Rye Whiskey. I wish I lived closer so I could stock up.
Daniel, you are doing a great job stewarding and steering the whiskey Canon towards a future that is refined and multipolar, maybe because that's how music is; music is something you understand, but the world of spirits is still stuck in unipolarity that's akin to living under monotheism. Can you one day answer a question about how some whiskeys are made by mashing and distilling grains separately before combining them all together before and/or after aging? If there aren't any whiskeys that do that, then nevermind.
This style is fine. Miss the old format, but I do truly enjoy your story telling and lesson format too. They've been very good. Just be consistent with the content cadence.
Heading to Texas (Fort Worth) in 2 months for the first time since really getting into whiskey - will be looking for some local bottles there to pick up. Loving the videos Daniel, thanks for another great review!
The only bottle of Ironroot Harbinger I've ever tried is a bottle of Plantation Rum finished I found at one of my locals. I wasn't a huge fan of it on a first pour. I guess it's too rum forward? I really like Texas whiskey, so that's not my problem.
Welcome to Mr. Whittington's Hidden Drams Neighbor! This reminds me to ask my friend who goes to TX at least once a year to be in the look out for any bottles of theirs when he is out there next.
I have to admit when all of the changes took place, I was NOT a fan. Whiskey Vault however grew on me with new set up. After 5 years of following I get it change happens. Keep it going!!!
It seems to me the idea of bottle over time, bottle 1/3, wait, bottle 1/3, wait, bottle the rest of the barrel would have more difference from one bottling to the next than expected. You get the age difference of course. But wouldn't the volume in the barrel be going to effect how it breathes in between bottlings.
One thing you could easily do is improve the audio of your voice. Being totally constructive on the criticism, I ran sound for bands when I was 16, now 61 so my opinion shouldn't be worthless lol! Just some mild equalizer tweaks, add a little lows, and cut the highs a bit, makes a world of difference.Maybe a different microphone or even mic placement could sound better.
Harbringer was one ofy favorite bourbons ever, especially for that ridiculous proof, I never wanted to add water to it (I did try and I found that it did not improve upon the experience). I haven't seen it in years though, and have not seen any iron root since moving to Colorado. On the subject of blind tasting the gifted drama: I don't need to see you shuffle the hat on screen. Just have someone else do it off camera before the shoot and pour the sample. You don't need to spend the time setting anything up, and we get a much more entertaining and objective review. DONE.

LOVE Ironroot, the owners, and the staff. I drive there about every quarter to restock.
Thanks Daniel, I've been watching each video of whisky vault from France since almost 4 years and it's always a pleasure to listen you, learn and laugh! Merci monsieur Whittington

Harbinger is one of my favorites. It's the texas version of Stag Jr. It smacks you around in the best possible way. Robert is my favorite Ginger😂
I've got their harbinger in the old bottle style! Love these guys and they're just up 75

I'm headed there tomorrow! Just a treat realizing they're in my parent's hometown and I'm in visiting! Super cool! Can't wait to try it out.
Really enjoyed the Ironroot Corn whiskey that came in the 12 days of Christmas box last year. Would love to try their bourbon!
I love the new content Daniel. Thank you!
This is Joe from Calabria, Italy - long time subscriber, please know that I think you are doing a great job with this new version of the vault. I enjoy every posting.
I love the standard 115 proof Harbinger. I don't see it often in Indy, but I grab it when I do.
Great video, Daniel. This has to be the first time an Ironroot related video was made for the vault without a single ginger joke!
I look forward to this every week, and I'm looking forward to an upcoming trip to Texas to maybe snag a bottle or two of Ironroot to bring back to New England.
Loving the homage to Mr. Rogers on your intro and outro. Classic!
Now maybe have a model train transport the bottle from the shelf to the barrel. 🙂
I enjoy these barrel-side chats with Daniel
I was just talking to a friend of mine about Ironroot just last night... O_O

Love the video and the format. Glad you're here and sharing whiskey and knowledge!!
The music, and swapping the robe for the medallion, is giving serious Mister Rogers vibes, lol.
Daniel, i admire you a lot and you being real about not having time for blind tasting gifted drams is as real as it gets. I hope i can do as good a job with my business
oooooh one of my favorites, here... we... go...
Gave up whiskey and cigars over lent, this is a good video to watch while I get back into the swing

Like all three formats.
Keep doin what you're doin. Great, informative content every time.

That's Canada! Thank you :)
so awesome!! (yes am nerd) worked at redbrickcraft distilling in philadelphia

Yes! Mr. Whittington's Hidden Drams Neighborhood!
Fortunately I am in an area that gets iron root republic. I’ll keep an eye out for them
Keep the path that you are on with the channel. It works. A live stream would be a great way to connect. Cheers everyone.
I'm doing one next Wednesday at 7 PM CT!
I’m really glad I’m here
Thanks for the video 🥃

Wheres the mooch?
❤❤VIDEO ❤❤ info is greatly appreciated ❤❤
Well... CRUD there went my local supply. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as I have.
Curious what your favorite Texas bourbon is? Is it this? I haven’t dabbled yet but I have Garrison Brothers Honey Dew top of my list to try.
yes it's this. but a recent bottle of Garrison Ladybird was pretty amazing too!
@@WhiskeyVault ohhh did not know about that one! Adding both to the list. Thank yah, cheers!
I watch every show
So Mr Daniel... When can we purchase some Whiskey Vault glencairns?
Soon!
this is the first time i heard you say , "mineral water" ....now I need to know what kind of water should we use to "taste" whiskeys?
love to all of this
Believe me, I would kill to be your assistant to help you do the idea for the blind tasting
Love Ironroot. I’m lucky that they’re only 20 minutes away from me.
Just poured this 🤣
At LEAST 100 years ago! 😉
I have to admit when all of the changes took place, I was NOT a fan. Whiskey Vault however grew on me with new set up. After 5 years of following I get it change happens. Keep it going!!!
Banana note..... ironroot kicks ass turns out gingers are good for something
Is that an older bottle? I have only ever seen the flat bottles.
It's newer! The flat bottles are actually the older ones

Where's the Mooch?
Daniel keeps Rex in a cage behind that door.
"just about everyone at the distillery I consider a friend" So who is the one (or 2) that he doesn't like? :D
There are some people that are new, and I don't know them :-)
🙌🏻😁
99👍
Keep on trinking ,the end is near.....they get extra m8ney 4 it😂😂😂😂

Ok leaving some Harbinger left in the glen is some blatant alcohol abuse, SHAME!
the Mr Rogers entry is... well... meh.. sorry.. feels like filler
Mr alcoholics neighborhood.
fuck i was almost first comment and viewer
lol sorry buddy 😂 it popped up as soon as I picked up my phone, perfect timing on my cool down for my workout 😅
