I watch this channel all the time. I live in the Jamaica. West Indies and last night I saw Mars real red star in the night sky and a real bright Jupiter I have the Stellarium App helped me Identify what they were, just wish I had a binocular to at least look at Mars
I tried to see a Titan shadow transit last month using my 6" SCT and couldn't see it at all. Might try again this month. Thanks for all the monthly updates this year chaps. Have a great Christmas and New Year. Wishing everyone clear skies in 2025! 😃
Really good in the evening at dusk as you have Venus blazing in the west and Jupiter in the east.Saturn is around the middle but pretty dim compared to the other two.Uranus and Neptune are about too plus if you wait until later Mars.
22:36 - "Alnitak is the one on the eastern side ... Mintaka is on the west." I would've said that Alnitak is the one on the west (left), Mintaka is one on the east (right).
This and Sky Diary podcast puts events on our calendar. Clear skies, Bronx NY

Clouds, that's what's in the night sky, just clouds.
Damn you beat me to it. Sorry, it’s my fault. I bought a new telescope.
Hi from Ontario 🇨🇦 🍁 🇨🇦
Great time to observe the planets. Living near a city deep sky objects are out of the question.
I managed Jupiter nicely with binos but I just received a new telescope so I’d like to apologise for all the clouds I’ve now provoked.

1:45 - "...magnitude -4.2"
According to the graphic, it's -4.5.
19:55 - "And on the 9th..."
According to the graphic, it's the 10th.
I saw the red item next to the moon on December 17, 2024, from all places, Las Vegas, Nevada.
It's 2nd December today but events you mention happened on the 1st December so that's handy.
22:36 - "Alnitak is the one on the eastern side ... Mintaka is on the west."
I would've said that Alnitak is the one on the west (left), Mintaka is one on the east (right).
An IR pass filter will work best for the Moon - Mars occultation as well. It'll give the image a dark background.
Hi guys, what astronomy software do you guys use for the videos?
Regards
Mark
Of course, when I have time to bring out my crappy telescope it gets cloudy lol
Ah, nice, I was wondering what the cluster beneath Mars was last night.
I saw something moving with a shining tale

Sirius B is harsh misstres :) Trying to capture it with 10inch newtonian but without succes.
My monthly fix lol
Hardly likely to have a good new year with a labour commi government in full swing but thanks for the thought
I’d like to apologise to everyone for getting a new telescope as I’ve obviously provoked all the clouds.
