Suzuki only made the change to EFI to be able to maintain production for the EU market. Now a heavier bike with the same power output and still no 6th gear. All on a restrictive budjet. The shortcomings of the DR650SE can all easily be sorted out for a very resonable price. If you do the simple maintenance the bike will last and go for many many reliable years. 21km/l is good for a carb bike. I bought my 2014 model for $7990 and its got >60K on the odometer and it goes like I get it last week.
Great question, im in the same boat. If they widened the drz gear ratios then easy decision - ill trade in for the drz. However if not, then its a bit tricky. Will need to 1) find out if the ACT wide ratio gearset still fits and 2) have to save and justify spending $2k to buy and install the ACT gearset.
Nice vid, some of my favourite locations and on one of my favourite bikes. I miss my DR650, a total classic. I’m eagerly anticipating the release of the DRZ4S. Hoping it ticks the boxes. Keep up the vids. 👍🏻
Great vid thanks. Went in to see a new DR650 yesterday but might hang on for the DRZ. Think you mentioned it but where were you riding? Love the location. Currently working in Texas but returning to Aus to retire a a few years.
I was riding between Berry and Kangaroo Valley near Drawing Room Rocks. The DR650 is unfortunately no longer available new in Australia because it doesn't have ABS. I'm retiring soon and preparing to spend a lot more time on the bikes. Building up my stable in preparation before everything goes electric.
Talking over end credits aye ... lol ... Don't know if that's a good thing. I hate it when people on radio talk over intros and outros to good songs. :>) Seriously though thanks for the feedback.

Totally agree. I've had mine for three years without a single issue - feels like it will last forever. :>)
21 km/l is too High, if you go slower Is simple take 25-27 km/l😄
@@freeride7876 yes definitely uses a lot more when you ride harder. :>)
Yep, DRz400 still not what it could have been. I expect nothing from Suzuki anymore.
@@verbalwidget0919 Yes a six speed gearbox with a higher top gear for road use would have been great.

That's a lot of money but I guess if you love the bike and that's the only thing holiday it ... it is well worth it. Good luck. :>)

You sound like the guy that talks over the end credits on the TV.

@@motorcyclingdownunder I was expecting a non stop talking review, but honestly it's a good vibe seeing you cruise.
@@zimmeh3026 Thank you - glad you enjoyed it. My videos are only a hobby and I like to mix them up so glad to hear this one worked okay. :>)
What's with the background music? I'd rather hear the motor talk lol
Thanks for the feedback. I'll do more without music.
