Great comparison! The price is the biggest pivot point for these 2. I've had 2 rock islands, love them both. I would never pay 3 times the price for something else with only a very slight advantage. I'd take that dollar difference and buy ammo and range time. Great video! Keep up the good content! 👍
Send your rock island to Hayes customs and get the HCG package. Your gun will come back better than a staccato and even able to compete with the most top of the line 1911s.
RIA makes a great value 2011, double stack 1911. Can't beat the Value Equation. Stock RIA 2011 is one third (1/3) the price. Or a tricked out custom RIA 2011 for half the price. Good comparison review 👍
Out of the hundreds of RIA double-stack reviews on the tube, you are the first to step through all the functions and do a comparison with a high-end platform. The slide action was my biggest question and how does it compare with the Staccato. Nicely done! I will be rolling with the RIA Tac threaded 10mm.
Rock island is enough for us the average shooters, twice a month, playing John wick at an outside range. The money saved, used for more ammo. Thanks for the video. 👍 🙆♀️ 🆗️
Been thinking about getting a Rock Island double stack, just because of the cost but also the double stack. I shoot well been around guns for 60 years or more and just now want a 45 acp. Good review. Thanks for talking the time.
Grew up shooting 1911's,& have owned Colt,Springfield, etc. & the only problems I had w/any of them were due to poor magazine choices,if I used quality mags they fed reliably. If I were to get a"gucci"2011,it would be a Stealth Arms or Bul Armory. They're a little less expensive & you get all but the same as a Staccato. That being said my next handgun purchase will be the Rock Island Tac Ultra FS/HC,shoot it for a few weeks then send it off to Hayes Custom to get the reliability package
Congrats on the RGG Staccato! The pricing on the Staccato certainly made me justify other purchases I been wanting with change left over for dinner and a movie.
Hi ! When you are holding the gun , keep it in alignment with the top part of your forearm , you will feel a lot less recoil when the slide goes back and forward . Watch you breathing for your shots . Take a little breath in exhale pause and press the trigger as you align the sights . You will be able to tighten up your groupings . In the Military we would shoot one handed . Two hands and you should be able to hold it more steady . Good luck to you and you will see your groups improve and 25 yards you will be able to knock out the 10 ring . Those are some cool guns . Thank you for the video and commentary .
Nice review! Very tact approach to looking over these tools from tip to butt. I think you are absolutely spot on with comparing a great "budget" option to a "top tier" race gun. Being able to honestly look at both of them and admit that the Staccato is only slightly better than the Rock Island option was spot on. I think if you buy a Staccato, it's like buying an Apple product: 30% of the pricetag is paying for the brand name. If another company made the Staccato C2, they'd likely price it at under $2k. The obvious winner here is the Rock Island option for sure. Best bang for your buck unless you chasing clout and trying to show off to old guys at the range who still dont know that there are double stacked 1911's now.
Great job bro...I was thinking about buying a prodigy for my new duty pistol, but after this I can't justify the expense. I would only pay twice the price if I were to get twice the reliability and performance. The failure lock is surprising . I have an RIA govt model and have had no issues whatsoever ...I have never had any failure to feed, jamming, it failure to lock. You were having some trouble focusing your shots, so maybe it was a bit of a limp wristing that caused that after the last shot. I will go with the reliability I have experienced with my RIA. Again, great job bro .. many 🙏
When you slowed down the group with the rock island was very impressive. The custom work is pretty awesome on it too. The sticatto is beautiful though. Nice piece.
My dawg finally got his Staccato! We just need this whole Staccato process video you promised us 💪😎 now just throw a x300u-B on that P and see it really poppin! Good video RGG!
I like that rock island one, looks real solid but iv never shot one. Of course I like staccato but for the price just not in my wheel house and probably never will be
There is a company that will take your Rock Island and slick it up. I may get a Rock double stance and send it to them. I love my staccato P, and really want to see if the tuned up Rock can be just as good or better.
I have the sar k12 sport with a bunch of Henning group parts, cz extra power extractor spring, reduced trigger springs and their flat trigger. My gunsmith is a retired Cz gunsmith and did an amazing job with installing and polishing the parts on my pistol. Paired with a custom set of lok thin bogie grips and the henning flat trigger, the pistol feels and shoots amazing. Also own the Ria pro series 1911 9mm Hc. Id have to give it to the Sar k12 as far as being a quicker pistol for comp shooting after the work done. It totally changed the way the gun performs and got rid of that horrible factory trigger. The ria pro is an amazing gun as well, but its real heavy.
@@shuckyducky-lu8nc I’m with you there, I’m just a “poors” lol. I can’t justify paying that much for any firearm. To each his own and I’m by no means knocking anyone for spending their hard earned money on whatever they want. I have a 600.00 ruger 1911 that I baby lol. My “tool” is a 320 that I don’t care if it gets beat up or not, if I had a staccato I wouldn’t let it out the house 😂
Only problem with your accuracy test is when slide didn’t lock back on the RI you flinched . For accuracy test please put on sand bags at maybe twenty yards and shoot maybe 3 five round groups each gun and concentrate on controlled steady strait back trigger pull.. good video though
You may have limp wristed the last round of the RIA...I do it sometimes with my SIG P220 .45 and slide won't open. I like this double stacked RIA Ultra...thanks for the great review. You earned a sub as well
Let’s be real. Nothing against the rock island. If it’s what you can afford and enjoy shooting it , then enjoy. Apple to Apple the staccato is a superior weapon. The rock island does 90% of what a staccato does but to get that other 10% you pay for it . Just as staccato does 90% of atlas but to get that other 10% you pay for it .
The only reason people are buying stacato is it was in john wick , like dirty harry selling 44 mags , there both good guns but rock island beats the stacato by a mile with price an same quality

Especially since you’d be more likely to get your rock island back if you had to actually use it….you’re NEVER getting that Staccato back.
Send your rock island to Hayes customs and get the HCG package. Your gun will come back better than a staccato and even able to compete with the most top of the line 1911s.
Yeah I heard some Good things about Hayes Custom.
True dat! Hayes I the way to go!
yups, i do agree, i saw what Honest Outlaw posted and it's just wowwwwwww.....

@@shuckyducky-lu8nc Well that sucks. A 9mm 1911 is kinda silly.
I was planning to get a compact 45 acp for edc. suggest me some that would hold 10+ rounds. and size should be similar to glock 19 / p365 x macro
I just picked up a double stack 10mm rock island 1911 its smooth but very heavy

@domingomercado8340 RIA with Wilson internals will run circles around a Staccato
@@turbinejunkieI bought the spring kit and Match Barrel and Bushing. 👍
Excellent video! I have the same Rock Island and love it. First time holding it, I had to have it. Want the staccato also. My wife will be mad!
I'd rather ask for forgiveness than permission
I just got my Tac Ultra. I dig it.
Great video, for being a much smaller channel. Subbed. Love the comparision between high end, and obtainable firearms.
Been thinking about getting a Rock Island double stack, just because of the cost but also the double stack. I shoot well been around guns for 60 years or more and just now want a 45 acp. Good review. Thanks for talking the time.

Big dog after you settled down that Rock Island became a monster. Definitely an option for anyone looking to get into the 1911 Double Stack game.💯
Congrats on the RGG Staccato! The pricing on the Staccato certainly made me justify other purchases I been wanting with change left over for dinner and a movie.
I can definitely see that

Perfectly normal to get used to the trigger and bad groups when going from one trigger to the other. Nice shooting.
Congrats on getting the Staccato, but I like the way the Rock Island looks. I’m shallow like that. 🤣👍👍👍
Great vid brother.. I think we need more range days with RGG....And the whole RGG Fam

Where did you send the RIA to for the cerakote work?
Did you paint the Ria slide ? I couldn’t find one with your slide finish
Awesome video Sir!!!
are rock island double stack mags compatible with the staccato p?
Congratulations on the stacoto RGG from your review I thank I will go with the Rock for $2400 less than the stacoto good content 🔥💪🏾
What comp is that on the stac? Will that comp fit on a ria tac ultra 10mm?
How would you rate you RIA compared to the platypus

The staccato is polymer and the rock island is aluminum or steel I’m not sure but either way it’s comparing apples to oranges. But nice guns anyways.
Polymer grips on a metal grip frame.
Lmao that you said the Staccato is polymer.
What out door range are you at? I need to go there before the weather changes!!!
Some audio terms to learn if you're going to make quality videos: normalize, compression, expansion, volume, mono, stereo.
Biggups and welcome to the club brother
Where is this gun range?
What model rock island is this and is it stock
Great video, all information was in layman's terms so that anybody can understand it I'm subscribed looking forward to future videos.
Dang dude you sure are getting alot of Gucci guns lately. All fancy and stuff. Haha. You should do hi point staccato match up for us poors.
