A former Celta colleague got two below standard lessons, and the truth is that even though both trainers and all of us candidates were constantly telling him to do things differently, he didn't. He would keep on doing his lessons teacher fronted and never gave students a chance to use their English. It was a constant reading-answering questions. What I mean by this is that what Jo says is true; trainers will help you a lot and they want you to pass the course. It is entirely up to you to take criticism and listen to their feedback. I finished my CELTA course and passed it. Even I got a below standard in TP4. To be honest, it is very important to ask help from your colleagues who are doing the course with you. Tutors will guide you professionally - no doubt. Colleagues can be of immense help and I improved a lot because they helped and guided even during odd hours!
Hi Sara - As I say in the video, centres can only take on candidates who they believe have a good chance of passing. The most common reasons not to be accepted are your own level of English or your lack of knowledge of grammatical terminology. The centre should give you some feedback on why you weren't accepted. Take that on board and try to improve in the areas they suggest - and try again. Good luck.
I really needed to hear this thanks alot! I got at standards (weak) in my last TP I'm really disappointed about it and my next TP next Monday I'm afraid that my tutor won't like my lesson What should I do?
Actually, I'm going to start my Celta course on 17th January. and I won't deny that I'm afraid of not doing well as I'm not a native speaker I don't want to miss that great chance which has given to me as well as I'm expecting the worst, hoping the best and I'll work hard for whatever it comes. Please I'm wondering if are we required to choose the sections or the topics that we would like to teach about in our TPs for example ( section: vocabulary / Topic: food ) or our tutor is the one who tells us to work on a certain topic that he/she has chosen by his / herself and thank you so much for your great useful videos they are so helpful
Hi- good luck with it and don’t worry about not being a native speaker at all- there are lots of advantages to having trodden the path your learners are taking! You’ll have plenty of guidance on the course for TP and usually have more freedom later on as you get more confident. It’ll all be fine!

Hi Walaal - the best people to ask about this are your tutors as they know your exact situation. They'll be completely transparent with you about what you have to do and if you are in danger of failing the course, you have to have a Stage 3 tutorial and a letter to tell you exactly what criteria you need to address, so nothing is going to come as a surprise, I promise. It's not nice to fail a lesson as I say in the video (resubmitting assignments isn't a problem - very normal) but see it as a learning experience. It'll probably be fine - but talk to your tutors. :)

Celta certicficate was my goal to get it.
However, I could not obtained at all. I've been devasted and disppionted snice they refused me, to apply.

Yes- definitely! It's quite unusual to fail even one TP but your tutor will support you if you do. Have you got a Below Standard grade?
