    Great video! I am an SLP myself and I am appalled by how many neurologists who cannot differentiate between aphasia and apraxia . I do home health and one of my first caregiver education is to differentiate between aphasia and apraxia .

      If you would like to speak with me you can do so. I work with people online for speech therapy-apraxia or aphasia or both, and also have published a video course and a book. I am going to put a link here if you are interested in speaking with me personally: Questionnaire to speak with Moshe Mark about Personal Mentoring: Support@teachingoftalking

    Hi Mark. Thanks for your video. I am not sure what is up with me but it’s not a new thing when I think about it; I am autistic and I have noticed since my early adulthood that I will try to talk quick and I can’t get my words to come out as I planned in my head. I also always suffered some astasia? (Can’t find the words I’m looking for) as far back as I can remember too which is a common autistic trait so; I have more than one issue but I’ve managed to hold up my speech pretty well.. I do speak very young sounding for my age and always have had that too. What I am most experiencing now is a more sudden onset of everything going bad with my speech, I will add that I also went through what I guess is an autistic shut down/major burn out with some kinda Tourette’s seizure starting it off then after that I lost a lot of abilities such as reading writing listening to words and back to half normal and staying only half normal. Maybe they should have checked me out better ? Maybe it’s all just neurological and can’t be detected anyway ? The same way Autism and adhd and Tourette’s is 🤷‍♀️ but what I do know is I’m sometimes stuttering, sometimes half saying words, sometimes saying them incorrectly as my mouth is not functioning normally when I try to perform the word for eg I’ll try to say bread and I’ll say bed and lastly I will sound American (I’m Aussie) becos I think my mouth collapses then just says rrr instead of pronouncing my words in my own accent 🤷‍♀️.. is it possible to be experiencing more than one or even more than 2 speech issues at once since perhaps one or two went undiagnosed and a managed until now and now I have an added issue? Also want to add that actual “speaking” burns me out and if I speak in a convo for too long I’ll literally suffer the consequences and I’ll become shaken overwhelmed and need my weight blanket and need to go under it 🙄😅 thanks so so much in advance for any advice you’re able to give and I’d be happy to have an online meeting and pay, thanks ☺️

      Hi Dhar, you have a number of concerns that can all be addressed by an expert who helps you identify the major concerns, places them in a hierarchy where you put the most important aspects of speech first, so that you develop an ranked order. Once that is done you go about addressing the concerns that are most important. You can contact me further at the e mail address support@teachingoftalking.com

    Think i have apraxia, been 3yrs i cant speak normally due to my stroke. I used to be able to speak english with no accent, but after stroke, my english change to indonesian javanese accent. Is that normal? And how to train my speech to be normal again?

    • @markittlemanspeech
      @markittlemanspeech  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Your question that pertains to how to train my speech to be normal again will require that you consult with an expert who truly understands speech and who has vast experience with speaking improvement. A speech pathology expert is who you should consult with this question and have him evaluate your speech and advise you.
      Hope this helps! Mark A. Ittleman, M.S., CCC/SLP.
