I thought this was a great movie. I was born in the fifties so, I literally grew up with Lucy. You know she always sent flowers to Carol Burnett on her birthday (April 26th). Even the day Lucy passed away, flowers were sent to Carol Burnett from Lucy!!! My daughter's birthday is April 26th. She's an amazing person as well!!!
All of a sudden this video came up. I had no idea that this movie was even made. And I am a huge fan of the I Love Lucy Shows.I even had the book and all of the episodes that were on VHS tapes w/everything that went on behind the scenes. They were also what I would call colorized. Even though they look beautiful, I still think that the black and white episodes were better (Perhaps because that's what I was used to)
This is the best movie about Lucy. I love to run it every so often. That dreck with Nicole Kidman was absurd, with Lucille begging Desi to confess to having one affair.
Americas original "funny lady". I was born in 1960 and grew up watching I Love Lucy. I remember many of the original scenes portrayed in this great movie. Excellent cast . Desi would have been nothing without Lucy. He had talent but pales in comparison to Lucille Ball.❤ i will always Love Lucy. RIP Lucille Ball❤
This lead male actor has the accent, and more importantly, the cadence of Desi Arnaz's voice. The actress playing Lucy caught the vibe and does welcome with the voice and manner but, facially, Frances Fisher fit Lucy to a tee.
Just seeing the first few minutes has me intrigued. Danny has been pretty good on the 2 crime shows I watched him in. He really sounds like Desi Arnaz!
Holly wood is toxic for marriage. Desi should not have cheated but being kicked out of his country, belittled for being a foreigner can wear on you. They loved each other in the end for good reasons. This version about the Arnez’ is pretty good for it shows the positive and negative aspects of both of them. I don’t think we will ever know the three sixty about their lives but regardless I am glad they remained friends for life.
@@mainecoon6514 The funny thing is listening to some men talk about their ex wives. I consider them soulmates. Cant live together but still love each other. Desi was being interviewed once, and called Lucy "my wife". Not ex wife, or Lucy, but my wife. Tony Curtis did the same when asked about Janet Leigh while being interviewed. They get past the hurt and do become friends..
Notice the poster of "The big street" with Lucille Ball and Henry Fonda on the wall behind Lucy while shes practising vita-meata-vegamin in the mirror? Great film! I guess one of her favorites too!
This is a severely edited version. The original took up 3 hours of TV time. So without commercials this should still be 2 hours 8 mins. A lot of good stuff is cut out of this. Still not my favorite Lucy movie though. Like Lucy and Desi Before The Laughter from 1991 better. Francis Fisher was remarkable as Lucy
She was a brunette naturally, but I think she colored it blonde for a while when Jean Harlow and others were doing the platinum blonde thing. MGM gave her the red hair in the 1940's and redid her wardrobe palette for Technicolor.
I was never a Lucy fan but like with Marilyn Monroe legend you see others imitating them in portrayal s and how off The mark and performative they are you get the originals talent
Totally agree...if you are looking for the ultimate Lucy Doppleganger...Frances Fisher from the 1991 effort. Facially she was spot on but the screen play of that version kind of sucked.
“It’s no fair”?!?! Probs the crippled child feels that way too!

⚜ First of all, Ethel was a little frumpier than that, and I don't remember her EVER wearing pants! Secondly, as many times as we've seen the re-runs of these most popular scenes from, I Love Lucy, I really don't think we need them to be ran again at length, only to look ridiculous, in their repeat performance! The writers, directors and producers of this crap should be ashamed! Lucy's legacy deserves better than this. I should have known this movie would be a letdown, considering it is on TH-cam's "economy" platform.
It was a let down considering that someone wrote that the originally aired movie was 3 hours long with advertisements. I like to see what the missing hour and a half was about. BTW on the TV shows some episodes, Ethel, does wear pants, I distinctly remember when she played the burglar and another one was a cleaning something maybe the basement or apartment. She did look frumpier in pants. 😊

@@billgreen1861 ⚜ Well, well, well, look at what the cat dragged in! If it's not good 'ole Bill Green. Hey, Bill! Remember me? It's been ages since we've talked, and here, we meet again, way out here, in Cyberspace, of all places. How is it, that our paths continue to cross??? We must have the same taste in videos. I will say, on the upside (other than running into you), this Lucy did on occasion, sound a little like the real Lucy. What did you think of the movie?
Hi, James ! Yes, I did watch the whole movie, but I wasn't too impressed, very much like you. I guess ? It seems we do have the same taste in movies and now I wonder ... 🤔 what else ?

@ ⚜ Hmm, who knows? Maybe a little of this, maybe a little of THAT! 😁😆😅🤣😂🙃😉
I'm sure that, if this was a real life event (which I doubt) they only skimmed the top portion not necessarily scraping the rug, but, I still don't recommend doing it. 😊

I have to go back and watch the original episodes now to get this out of my head. No offense, but you can not duplicate genious.

Desi was very talented, too. He was an excellent bandleader, singer, and actor.
She was a product of tough times like my Nana ❤️🙏

He has been in the Law & Order series
Just seeing the first few minutes has me intrigued. Danny has been pretty good on the 2 crime shows I watched him in. He really sounds like Desi Arnaz!
I thought she did a very good job. Her voice and mennerisms were spot on!
Yes much better then Nicole Kidman.
I always felt hurt for Lucy, she loved Desi so much and he hurt her deeply with his playing around.

Desi's alcoholism and womanizing hurt their marriage. Desi and Lucy remained friends until his passing in 1986.

I love this movie I wish they didn't cut off some scenes.
Beautiful movie 🎬
Love Danny Pino on Law & Order SVU and he's great in this.
it's was funny when SVU made a reference to his role in this.
I ❤ Lucy ! Great moments all family from tv. 👏❤
Cool.... Madeline Zima... From the show The Nanny!❤
This actor has a better singing voice than the real Desi Arnaz.
He should've been offered more parts.
I thought they had the characters down pretty well. It took me quite a while to recognize Anne Dowd.
So Lucy originally had blonde hair? And then she dyed her hair to be a redhead.. lol.. I never knew that!! Wow! 😧😲
Lucy was a brunette! Watch the movie Stage Door from 1935.
She was a brunette naturally, but I think she colored it blonde for a while when Jean Harlow and others were doing the platinum blonde thing. MGM gave her the red hair in the 1940's and redid her wardrobe palette for Technicolor.
Henna rinses.
She was a brownette then went blonde to redhead.
U r not a true fan 😂❤ lol
I was never a Lucy fan but like with Marilyn Monroe legend you see others imitating them in portrayal s and how off
The mark and performative they are you get the originals talent
Good actors
Never knew Desi came from high society in Cuba. His mother must have felt like a refugee all her life in USA.
Awesome thank you
PHENOMENAL MOVIE ❤️❤️⭐️⭐️
Danny Pino great job❤
Desi looks like little Ricky.
Like yhemovie so much talente
Not even close to one 30 minute black and white I Love Lucy Show episode. No magic, No originality and no flare.
This movie is awful ......awful good ! both Stars are great.
Very good actors, so very good!
Sometimes you gotta keep family out of your love life .,..
Not just " sometimes ... "
Pino played this part so well it's like watching the real Desi Arnaz. Can't say the same for York!🙄
I cannot watch this, I can only watch the real Lucille and it's original cast, I can't get the vibes in this.
LoL .. WOW! Danny pino playing Dezi
When your Mama say they're boorish, that opens the door for maltreating.
❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Pino has Desi's voice down cold. They could have gotten a better Lucy!🙄

8:44 white be playing around until someone get hurt

Certo che nella vita conta di più essere Gastone che zio paperone. Il film comunque è fatto bene.
30 mins from the original movie was chopped off from the upload here. 👎👎👎
9:56 it was actually more than fair…
Beautifulpapel de Lucy I rickyhandsome
❤❤❤
Now seeing this, its no wonder this film was a flop.
She really was
Since when was Lucy ever a blonde? 😮
Check out her early movies.
? ? ? It was a running gag on I Love Lucy that Lucy’s hair was dyed red…a “henna rinse”.
@richparsons4205 OH yeah.. I remember in one of the episodes Lucy actually said that herself about that..
@melanievando2040 Yes I did see her when she did the movie.. Hello Dolly.. and when Barbra Streisand also did the same movie..
@@JodiSmith-c6r Lucy never did Hello, Dolly. Are you thinking of Mame?
It’s charming to eat spaghetti off a carpet? 🙄

Lucy actress is .....
No no no😢
Not bad...
Very poor choice for Lucy!😡😡
YES!!!!
The world outside the usa does not matter that
@sjefhendrickx2257 Huh? Learn to write.
But a good choice for Desi!
Why can't Gentiles play Gentiles ?!!
Terrible casting

The world is bigger than than, did you not know?
Again learn to write. The USA is THE WORLD.
Only seeing this tiny clip - and the acting is horrible.
Better than I'd expected, but I'm still waiting for the Nicole Kidman version.
The Nicole Kidman version has already come out, that was a few years ago. I saw it on Prime TV and I thought it was pretty good.
I love Danny Pino but this movie is a joke and an insult
